Hal is one of my personal CS heroes due to his larger than life personality and endless sense of wonder. He's a wonderful teacher and I highly recommend taking a peak at his lectures at Open Courseware.

Great viewing. Hal Abelson is a nice guy. I watched his famous Hewlett Packard CS lectures from the 80's (with Gerald Sussman) and it's so interesting to see him here looking essentially the same but older!

I found Hal's perspective at 53:00 to be the most insightful. "Treasure the oddballs!"

I’m confused too. That isn’t be possible. It has to be a typographical error.

It is just a title, it doesn't mean it is the year of 1922.

Shows you how MIT students thought they were in an ivory tower. While the rest of the country was protesting civil rights and being involved in Vietnam, they were protesting not being able to see the secret activities on the war being housed at their campus.
