So here's the thing: I don't think actors necessarily have good insights into their characters and even less so into the overall essence or finer nuances of the shows they are part of. That's because it's really hard for them to separate the process from the outcome. They're so caught up in the process and in their personal creative experience at the more technical level that they can easily lose sight of the larger picture. That said, out of all the Buffy actors that I've heard speaking in panels, I think Amber Benson has some of the best (if not THE best) insights into the story, simply because she's also a true fan. And now I'm realising I also made a very similar comment a while ago about Gwendoline Christie for Game of Thrones.
