The Haladaya Festival 2024 was a spectacular display of colorful costumes, innovative choreography, fast-paced dance steps and aesthetically pleasing backdrops and props-- solidifying its status as one of the most admired festivals in this part of Cebu.
After its last staging in 2019, the Haladaya Festival is back this year with seven participating groups. Except for barangays Tapilon, Agujo and Malingin which represented Haladaya Festival in the recently concluded Pasigarbo sa Sugbo, the competing contingents were as follows:

▪️ Pundok sa Nagkahiusang Tribu Badati (Bagay, Dalingding, Tinubdan)
▪️Tribu Kasikas
(Maya)
▪️Tribu Isla Malapascua
(Logon, Carnaza)
▪️Tribu Talanjao (Talisay, Lanao, Tominjao)
▪️Tribu Hugpong Nagkahiusa
(Bakhawan, Paypay, Bitoon)
▪️Tribu Calmaba
(Calape, Malbago, Bateria)
Tribu Kasikas of Barangay Maya was declared as the Grand Champion of Haladaya Festival Ritual Showdown. Tribu Kasikas also garnered the most number of awards:

🏆Datu Daya Best Solo Performer

Rounding off the top three winners of the Grand Ritual Showdown were 1st runner-up Tribu Isla Malapascua of barangays Logon and Carnaza; and 2nd runner-up Tribu Talanjao, comprising barangays Talisay, Lanao, and Tominjao.
In addition, Tribu Isla Malapascua received the Best Musicality and Best Intro Video, while
Tribu Calmaba clinched the Best in Andas.
Gov. Gwen Garcia, who graced last night's spectacle, announced that the Provincial Government is allocating P300,000 for each of the seven contingents and P3 million to the municipal government as financial aid to defray the cost of expenses.
In a show of support for Mayor Sun Shimura, the mayors and some officials from the 4th district were in full force to witness the grand comeback of Haladaya Festival. Board Member Red Duterte, Board Member Victoria Corominas-Toribio, and Board Member Kerrie Shimura were also present in the event.
Municipal officials in attendance were Vice Mayor Elver Ali Abucay, SB Member Marvi Pinos, SB Member Wendell Rosell, SB Member Bridgette Tancawan, former Mayor Ma. Luisa J. Loot, and former Mayor and Consultant Vicente Loot.
