Everyone live peaceful but war is create to make money. So they air propaganda of hate so then things feel different and we pay more for this dirty racial behavior. Ever see most of the places that dried out of it wealth now today in the world we say it poor & hungry? Yes every media .....etc.
Im a muslim from singapore. Thank you for covering halal food. Hope you can do more video on halal food in bangkok so that we know where to find halal food while in.bangkok
Noo mi hey there i've been to bangkok couple of time, thai is one of the friendly halal country that u can easily get halal food, example mbk..u can google or find it in youtube.. One of the best and high recommended halal restaurant in mbk 5th floor yana restaurant was the best one..from the tomyum to dessert and everything taste so good with a reasonable price...it's worth ur money.. Beside yana restaurant there are foodcourt i think few of it are muslim food, from indian to indonesian food.. If u go to chatuchak the weekend market, just look for the big clock in the middle of the market just near that clock a couple of stall server halal food as well..so no worries the halal label is there😊.. Pratunam area where most tourist like to stay have lot of halal as well just google it or search at youtube...thai food is the best..tomyum, the mango sticky rice and thai milk tea very high recommended must try..
you speak about moderate muslim, they are very few especially where muslim are the majority, come to Indonesia or watch more news about indonesian, and you will see how friendly they are..
Great video no doubt that's why it blew up Muslims are people known for hospitality but unfortunately were given a bad image by media but Mark here is capturing the real beauty of the Muslim community good job keep going and the food looks delicious happy to know spots of halal food in Thailand
I spent 4 months in Thailand and was really surprised and pleased to find such a strong Muslim community. The food was wonderful and pork free, thank goodness! Lovely people too.
Sawadeeka, Malaysian muslim here.. thank you so much covering halal food from thailand, my wishlist InsyaAllah. Delicious thai food especially the fish curry (reminds me to my late grandmother- malaysian thai-she was a very good delicious cook) . Alhamdulillah. Beautiful thai muslim family there. True Muslim like to offer/invite to come to their house, entertain guests nicely, give foods and gifts will get big rewards (by God Allah). Be nice and friendly to all. InsyaAllah.
Without the internet, we would be as lost on the beauty of living life in different countries and exploring different food, people and culture through a person's eyes who is living it, while we are living ours. Thank you Mark, and internet! I feel blessed that i am able to recognize and appreciate this wonderful benefit! Namaste
Some times internet is the one who is pulling us back from really going out and exploring the world by ourselves. U should internet gives only a fraction of the real experience.
Im Thai muslim and Thailand we dont separate relion race or ethnicity thats what make me proud of my country we grow up with each other regardless of what you are. Ive been to some asian countries they even stare at my mom for wearing hijab which is crazy. But i wont mention that countries
British Pakistani and I have been Thailand 5 times (up to 3 months at a time). Greatest country, beautiful culture, beautiful land, friendliest people and not a single person has treated me different cos of my race or religion. I encourage any Muslims that are worried about travelling to hostile places to try Thailand.
That’s great Idnaan, I’m also a British Pakistani. My husband can’t take the time off to travel with us so was thinking of travelling with my two kids alone 11 and 7. What do you think? Safe for me to travel?
@Pua Cheebye a kind of habits like talking behide someone back are present in every country, maybe you might had some bad experience in thailand. but that habit is everywhere not only in thailand.
@พิทักษ์ มหาวรรณ์ I think you don't know anything. the way thai culture work is so simple, you give respect, you get it back. And the issue about those province is not base on race or religion but politic.
Ever been to San Francisco? There are a lot of places just like this. I stayed at one in an unassuming one block long alley/street off Pacific a block west of Hyde St. It was magical. This really reminded me of that 'hood. The only difference? The food choices were northern Italian, a French bakery, and the part of Chinatown, where people actually live.
Actually, my mom grew up in that neighborhood close to Haroon Mosque forty years ago! I showed her this entire video clipping, she was in awe, and brought back so many fond memories! BTW - She is really impressed by your Thai! So, thank you very much! Krup kun kah!
Adisra Jittipun that is so awesome that your Mum got to see some of her old neighbourhood. I bet your mum is really lovely like the other locals in this video.
I've watched this video more than 10 times, the video is so good it makes me want to come there. my favorite part is when mark eat salad and the "Adzan" is heard so beauty, and I always cry at this part. may God bring peace upon you and your family, mark wiens. assalamualaikum.
It is easy to find halal food in Bangkok. There are many Muslim communities here and there all over Bangkok area. If you can’t find any halal restaurant nearby, just go to convenience store or supermarket you will find halal food products (with halal symbol) there.
I'm half Pakistani and a Muslim, so seeing Muslims in Thailand cooking Pakistani food makes me so happy (and HUNGRY, lol). What a friendly neighborhood!
Lol! Read some history .. countries like Thailand & Malaysia are highly influenced by Indian culture & food.. the roti she was making in the beginning is actually South Indian paratha..
if someone can find me a time where mark was rude or impolite about the food let me know because I cant .. mark is a damn good man and he makes people feel the appreciation .. mark you are truly a good person with a good heart .. god bless your child he has great parents it seems .
Salam,I m a muslim from Kuala Lumpur. The videos demonstrates the nice friendly nature of musliims in Thailand. Basically, I can see they are working hard to earn a living while performing their daily obligation to our Creator.Kopun kap.
When the lady was making the first meal all what I was thinking is how similar it is to Mutabak here In Saudi And Yemen , but then I realized that the recipe (might be ) from Yemen originally because of Migrations from Yemen to Indonesia and Malaysia ages ago ....its really beautiful to see how food cultures can blend up and develop to even better flavors . Great video as always 👍🏻
Hessa khaled yeah, it's believed that it was the Yemenis who introduced muttabaq to Indonesia. But now it's very much localized, with influences ranging from Chinese to Dutch. It'd be interesting to know your opinion on our martabak.
Ari Vanuaranu It look so good my mouth was watering already ..the stuffing looks so similar to ours ( leeks , green onions , minced lamb/ beef, minced tomatoes and the crack an egg ) We have other sweet stuffings ( mashed bananas , cheddar cheese with honey < so good )
I went to Thailand and got injured. people were so kind and helpful. The owner of the place where i stayed was south Indian. he really helped us and other locals, driver and even flight attendants were so generous and kind. I have seen humanity everywhere. And cant forget the warmth i got in their behaviour.
yay!!! finally you made video about halal food. it will be very useful and helpful for me and others muslim friends around the world who want to travel to Thailand :) thank you
Hey Mark, I should thank you soooo much for covering Halal food in Bangkok..Your VLOG not only opens up a world for foodies but it also covers a foodie world out there who are restricted due to belief. As a Muslim myself you and foodie...you have been a foodie guide for me. Thank you Thank you Thank you soooo much
I love the Halal foods of Thailand. I can't eat pork, so these markets are just right for me. When I lived in Bangkok I was happy to find the Muslim food markets. The people are so friendly and beautiful too.
@@omerd5147 Christians are not supposed to eat pork as well. add to that, that filthy animal is riddled with parasites and diseases. Food is abundant, I don't know why people insist on eating it.
LOVE from INDIA.. I never heard about this community no one had covered this before and their street food.Masha Allah the owner of the house and his family was very humble and the vendors too. 😊
Lord Grim Haha i never do that mistake anymore, always ordering or preparing something then watching while eating. Watching after i ate doesn't work for me neither im always getting hungry again XD
that family is so nice and welcoming.. they brought me smiles watching this, reminds me of my bf, how he always tells me people are so nice and welcoming in Iraq, inviting them to sleep or rest in their homes and fixed their car without charging them... makes me see muslims people in a new view.
In my country Iraq if u help anyone and ask for payment that’s consider such a shame, and throw my studying in Malaysia I noticed the same habits with malay people
Awesome video, Mark. Those Thai muslim or SE Asian looking Arabic are so respectful, hospitable, humble, kind and polite. I really love The diverse in Thailand cultures and everyone seem to respect each other ethnic groups, all culture background and religion. Etc. 😊😊😊😍😍😍
Thank you so much for this video Mark! We appreciate all the effort and energy that goes into your videos. We love Bangkok but always feel restrained when it comes to food there. Kudos to you from Malaysia!
There family are great and so humble and halal food always great im so happy see thet atmosphere there good job Mark thank you so much for mad this video
I have been watching your videos for some time now. What I appreciate is, as a "round eye", my travels in Asia as a US soldier, I often ran off the beaten path. Respect is earned, and when I showed a true learning for their cultures, people were so happy to open their homes and teach me about their cultures. So much to learn from other people and when we truly drop our guard, we have so much to learn and appreciate from others. Good job, charlie mike my friend, you are showing that people can experience other cultures without being afraid to try new things.
The family’s graciousness is so cool and so so Thai and Muslim too, they honor you and themselves, wonderful! In the late 1970’s I frequented often a man with his food cart with the crescent moon near my apartment, he spoke far better English than my beginning Thai, I lived off of his yellow rice chicken kao mohk gai!
You are humble royalty! Do you know why? I believe it’s because you are a true ambassador and messenger of all cultures and peoples regardless of religion, race, colors, politics and creeds. Thank you Mark, Ying and Micah for your love of life itself.
Nico Caesario Bennizar iya pas lagi jalan2 ke thailand kan gk perlu khawatir lagi untuk masalah perut, terkadang kan bnyak makanan yg kurang cocok di negara tetangga
Mark your filming style and attention to detail is amazing, I find myself bowing and saying Sawadi to the computer screen on a regular basis its involuntary, that family was so warm and inviting that was incredible!
that Muslim family.....nailed it ...with their humble...attitude..... what I can say....mark u deserved that attitude....😻😻indeed food do join people and communities
thank you mark, you're great! I follow your advice when traveling to South East Asia with my family. we are Muslims. thank you for thinking of halal food 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 from Paris
Haroon Mosque is one of Bangkok’s more significant mosques, with history that showcases migration within the region in the 1800s. With Buddhism being the state religion of Thailand, one often forgets that there are many healthy communities of other religions thriving in pockets all over the capital. In historic Bangrak, there exists an active Muslim community that has been around centuries. The Haroon Mosque is central to this small neighborhood opposite the French Embassy and behind the Old Customs House. The presence of this house of worship and its surrounding residents only adds more diversity to the up-and-coming Creative District. In 1837, an Indonesian-Arab trader Musa Bafadel arrived to settle down in Bangrak, which was back then a small village named Ton Samrong. He had three sons: Haroon, Uthman, and Ishaaq. Two of the sons inherited their father’s penchant for travel - Uthman headed for Malaysia while Ishaaq departed for Cambodia. Haroon firmly planted his roots in Bangkok, eventually marrying and having a son. Originally, Ton Samrong had its mosque located on the riverfront. In 1899, the Thai government saw that the land where the mosque stood was prime location for a customs house. A trading of properties concluded with the mosque being moved further inland to where the mosque stands today. The first form of the mosque was made of wood, allegedly beautifully designed in a hybrid Ayutthaya-Java style. In 1934, Haroon’s son Muhammad Yusuf decided to upgrade the mosque to its present brick and lime form today. Ton Samrong is no more but the mosque still stands. Residents and the faithful, through their lifestyle and religious practices offer insight into Islam and its culture. Every Jumu’ah (Friday congregational prayer), the neighborhood comes alive as the community gathers to pray together. One can become a wallflower and respectfully observe the activities if permitted by the worshippers or partake in the variety of Thai-Muslim foods sold by residents.
Today I am very happy that I have a lot of Muslims in Indonesia, they have halal food, I have seen that I have become very happy, but I also get halal food. Keep the people of Indonesia happy.
When u got invited to Asians house as the guest directly it so meaningful as the tourist or foreigner yes it's so meaningful, glad to see your review and your friendliness mr. Mark. Greetings from Muslim Indonesia 💚🖤
Great video! Love your infectious enthusiasm. Brings back memories of me living in Bangkok Thailand 1988 and 1989. Loved to go down to that area and eat delicious halal food. What a nice family who invited you into their lovely home. My wife is from Burma and we have been back many times to Thailand and Burma (Myanmar). Thai food is still the best! Thanks again for bringing back the wonderful memories.
these halal food make me mouth-watering. i can even recommend my Malay friends to try them out whenever they are in Bangkok for their vacation. do try out more thai halal food in the deep south especially the provinces of Satun, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat. you can even try out the thai Muslim seafood dishes at a Muslim fishing village in Phang Nga bay.
This was so great they asked them in to eat. The Muslims I know, yes my hubby and I have Muslim friends. The food is just so fantastically good. The type of curry they use don’t upset my tummy at all. Some curry spices do. Not the type our Muslim friends use. It’s warm not over powering and I feel warm inside. Plus the sauces. Oh my! So good. Thanks for sharing this Mark.
Whoaa Halal food, thank you so much for uploading halal food in Thailand, such a really great references for Moslem traveler around the world. If you planing to go for chinese or taiwanese foods, I'm hoping for halal Chinese food thou~
One of the reasons I would love to travel again. The food people make in other countries is made with so much love! It seems so many of us here in the US have become so blah, same same meat and potatoes week after week. Why is it we are this way..People in other countries are so family orientated, family is everything, where we seem to go off on our own, family doesn't seem to be as important anymore. We have lost our heritage, our love for one another. We are losing our honor, our pride when it comes to down home cooking from the past.
Thanks for inviting our friend mark wiens into your home. Its my first time to see an interior of a Thai home. You have a nice location of a house. In front of your house is a thai fast food home cook. I like that. Hope to visit the place for the food. Watching from the philippines. Its an honor to be invited in ones house . At least ive seen the interior of a typical thai house.
