For those looking to do this - the vehicle has to be level so keep that in mind you'll have to have it on stands and level. I'm also wondering if after it's filled the car should be put in gear so the haldex actually engages. Just starting it isn't going to get the haldex going. OH and if you take the filter off, make note of its orientation it can go on wrong
@BryceJordanProductions
@BryceJordanProductions 5 лет назад
The pump should be running when you turn the motor on, it's always on weather it's engaged or not I believe.. but yeah definitely level and the filter really only goes on properly one way

Also, I wouldn't reccomend letting it hang by the wires. My braided ground crumbled. Not sure if it will be an issue, but should be avoided.

I'd take it upon yourself man, I haven't heard of many failures lately (probably because people are doing them their selves) it's definitely worth the work to know it's done right with that filter being inspected and cleaned. I got multiple questions hopefully you can patent me in the right direction.. Got me a 2015 S3 the lunch control has stopped working figure the haldex is gone to the dogs (how I know you may ask) front tire smoke the hell up when launching while the rear wheel just follows I’ve changed the fluid changed and the pump same result front tires smokes badly when doing launch control I live in the USVI there is no Audi dealership.. closest one is in Puerto Rico where as I have to ship the vehicle to a whole other island just to get a diagnosis which I already have a bright idea what the problem is I really don’t wanna waste money Call Audi dealerships at Florida and Puerto Rico both telling me car must come into shop for part to work because even though I install the hardware the software needs to be synced which I find is bogus So my questions are 1. Did you changed the haldex system yourself (without the dealership involved) 2. Is there any programming needed of the new haldex after mounting it for it to work (meaning going into Audi for them to put the car on a computer for the new part to be synced) or is it once you put in the hardware that’s it your good to go with new fluid of course I would really appreciate it if you can help me out buddy
@BryceJordanProductions
@BryceJordanProductions 5 лет назад
Ummmm have you tried any of the haldex tests in vcds/obd11? I know there's some type of adaptation you can do in there that I've heard fixed some people's issues.. I've never replaced a haldex myself, just fluids/filters. My best suggestion for you would be to ask (or join if you haven't) the MQB page on Facebook, there's over 18,000 members on there, I'm sure one of the techs could lead you in the right direction

It's crazy that dealer shops charge $300 to ONLY drain and refill the fluid and to NOT even check the filter screen and clean if needed. I mean seriously it probably takes them like 20" to drain and refill? Are they using gold plated drain/fill bolts or something? Around about a $200 part to order in and do it myself. just a quick question, when you serviced your haldex, did you change out the other filter aswell (not the one screen on the pump) as this too can get glogged up with gunk?
