I saw her in a small bar type venue right on the heels of their first album. It was near her hometown, only a couple hundred people, I was maybe 10 feet away from her. She walks out on stage and delivers one of those insane screams right off the bat, I was blown away. Almost literally. The crazy thing was the other bands that had been playing before had issues with the vocals just being drowned out by how loud the instruments were. One dude was screaming his guts out and you could barely hear him. Lzzy had no such issues. They did like an hour long set, played most of their album, it was amazing. Met her dad there too, he was cool. And so freaking proud of his kids (Lzzy's brother is on drums). I wasn't expecting anything going in, it was such a crap venue, but they rocked.
Halestorm won a Grammy for this song in 2013 in the "Hard rock/metal preformance'' catagory making them the first female fronted band to win in this catagory. They beat some major bands to win including Anthrax, Megadeath, Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson & Lamb Of God.Did you guys even notice Lzzy played the guitar solo in this one?
I can still remember the video when Lzzy brought out Asami from Lovebites for, well, Love Bites. I thought that was the most awesome thing ever, and this was before I fell in love with Lovebites music.
Hey, it's my two favorite Wolf Hunterz, Travis and Suzy! (don't tell the other members!). Even though the official video for this great song is very cool, I'm glad you did this "live in the studio" version because it really shows how good they are live (without multiple studio takes and electronic "trickery" 😆), including the absolutely bad-a$$ rock vocals of Lzzy Hale.
I LOVE YOUR BAND and your reactions are so entertaining to watch do y'all ever get down around southwestern Virginia to play live I'd love to see you LIVE
You guys have just seen a real sample of the power and glory that really is Halestorm. Right out of the gate with their first album in 2009 they have been a force to reckon with. Lzzy is the unquestioned star and leader of this band but her band-mates, including little brother Arejay on drums, Joe Hottinger on 1st guitar and Josh Smith on bass/keyboards are awesome as well. For studio classics try Freak Like Me, Rock Show, MS Hyde, Mayhem and their new single Back from the Dead. They are best Live though, for both Amen and I Miss the Misery, it is best to see those songs live as they are always 5 to 10 minutes longer than the studio songs and the jams at the end of both songs is always different and amazing. I have seen them 3 times in the last 6 years and they are my favorite band of the 21st century. Enjoy! 🎸
They are incredible in concert. It always amazes me that she can scream all night and then go do it again the next night without damaging her voice. She's very well trained. Back from the Dead is their latest and its really Fing good.
If you want to hear a mellow song by Halestorm id recommend Dear Daughter its beautiful I always play it for my daughter, I'd Love recommend some of their older songs like "Mz. Hyde", "Apocalyptic", "Familiar taste of Poison", "I get off', and my absolute favorite "You Call me a Bitch like its a bad thing"
Travis, it was in the "live" room, not the living room. I cracked up. Sorry! :) One of my top 3 Halestorm songs. Lzzy is ridiculous but EVERYONE slammed in this song! I recommend I Miss The Misery, I Get Off, Back From the Dead and, as you mentioned, Suzi, I am the Fire.
"Living room" was funny, but you should check names of Halestorm songs you've mentioned too ;-) It's not "I Hate The Misery" but I Miss The Misery and it's simply Back From The Dead (without "Alive"). No hate :)
I Miss the Misery live at download festival 2019 she showcases that scream. Love her voice!! Familiar Taste of Poison is also a great some. The live version on Jimmy Fallon is great!
Great performance. But anyone who has ever tried recording the drums in an open studio setting like that can tell this was NOT the "live" recording of this performance. Not a chance. Not even a tiny little chance.
