I've met Haley and actually hung out with her & Casey Abrams for a bit of an afternoon. She's super chill, quick to smile, has great style and always blows you away when she takes the stage
Some other Postmodern Jukebox vintage-style covers you might enjoy: - SEVEN NATION ARMY: This is another one featuring Haley Reinhart. They do this White Stripes rock song as a 1930s New Orleans style dirge. - MAPS: This one features a different singer named Morgan James who, like Haley, is spectacular. It's a cover of a Maroon 5 song and PMJ and Morgan do it as a 1960s Soul song. - DREAM ON: This is another song with Morgan James on vocals. It's a cover of Aerosmith's song and PMJ and Morgan turn it into a classy, jazzy, torch song that could easily be on a James Bond soundtrack. - HABITS: This is another one featuring Haley Reinhart. It's a cover of a song by Tove-Lo. PMJ and Haley take what is essentially a fairly dark song about staying "high all the time" to get over a break up and turn it into a super catchy, happy little tune. It's one of my favorite PMJ songs featuring Haley. - PURPLE RAIN: This is a cover of the Prince song (obvs) and features Miche Braden on vocals. Miche is the real deal and absolutely takes Prince to church on this cover. Sadly, it doesn't get as much love as the Haley and Morgan songs but it really, really should. Highly recommended. Great reaction, btw!
I've never watched you guys before and keeping it real, I didn't see much of a reaction beyond a smile. I would recommend looking at the views the original video received on YT, in this case around 110m, and perhaps watching some other reaction videos to this song, to learn how her name is pronounced (respect to the artist), and also to see the type of reactions she gets from others that have been in this space for awhile. Most of us have seen this video before, but we want to see how you guys react to it. Show us tons of emotion! We already love this song, this singer, and this band (which you never mentioned), and we're here to watch YOUR reactions. If you do those things, you will get a lot more viewers. Also, consider your background. Your audience would probably prefer something other than your kitchen behind you, just like you wouldn't care to see mine. Just put some more thought into your whole video. Think about our view of your surroundings, your respect to learn the artist's name, and the name of the band, which is well-known and well-loved. I'll check back in awhile to see if anything has changed. I hope you understand these tips are to give you, and your audience, a better time. A better experience. It's not just putting on some headphones and getting comfy on the sofa. Pay attention to detail, both what you"re reacting to and what your audience will see. You will see a difference in your viewership if you treat this as a business. :)
while your comments are technically constructive criticism, it's a bit condescending to volunteer your services as a teacher to people you do not know, especially in public. Your "I'll check back in a while to see if anything has changed", was especially condescending. If you must put yourself in the role as their unsolicited teacher, send a private message. It takes 4 clicks and about 10 seconds to get to one of their instagram message centers, where you can send this to them in private.
@@blanketstarry7725 Didn't mean anything I said to be condescending. More like a wake up call and I'm just a straight talking NY gal. I just wanted to point out that I would check back at some future time to see if they had decided to treat this as a business. More out of curiosity than anything. They might put up a green screen and make other adjustments, but I don't see them changing their personalities. Some people just aren't cut out for this kind of business. If you're listening to Pentatonix for the first time and you aren't conveying being Mitch-slapped, 'Pentaholics' will not want to watch you again. That's a fact. If your side hustle is making reaction videos, then you need to react.
@@tracygarrett3952 It's all stuff that should have been conveyed in a private message. Regardless, I'm not sure your opinion on how they should react is the end all. Some pieces "require" not interrupting and waiting until the end to do your reaction...this is one of them. Their discussion at the end was spot on. But again, all I am really saying is that what you said should be conveyed in a private message.
Check out Gabriel Henrique singing Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing". You two will love it! Also I can't recommend highly enough: St Paul and the Broken Bones "Grass is Greener" (OurVinyl Sessions)!
