Half Diminished Chord is a super beautiful sound, I'm gonna show all the inversions on guitar and some lines over II-V-I. we'll talk about what scales work on the Half dim. as well! The minor 7 flat 5 chord (m7b5) is the place to be. It's good to connect our ear training guitar into that exercise too. This chords can be used in jazz but also in any style of course. Let's practice Half Diminished Chords!

Rotem, your content is great. I’ve learned so much recently from watching ur videos. I’ve now been practicing inversions & upper structure chord grips & have been learning & practicing how to play 2-5-1-6 progressions with them. Awesome lesson! I really like the sound of F melodic minor over Dm7b5. Do you think about it as D Locrian = F Dorian, and then using F Melodic Minor as a jazzy variant of the Dorian mode (with the major 7th of F / natural 9th of D)?

This is great. I'm not kidding when I say I woke up this morning thinking about the need to get my Half diminished inversions together. I now have a pretty good understanding of inversions for Maj7, Min7, and Dom7, (although I use some unconventional ones), but not m7b5. Do you happen to have pdfs for all the inversions you discuss? Like chord diagrams? What about for Maj7, Min7, and Dom 7? I like written material. Hit me up with an email, bro. Let me know what it would cost to put some of that material together for me. I don’t understand why when it’s time to show the voicing you don’t describe them in any detail. As a pianist learning guitar I understand functionality around half dim I just need to know how to make the shape. But I’m not advanced enough to just look at your hand and know what you’re doing… Do you have any suggestions for where I can just see tabs that show the most manageable voicings for this quality?

Inversions are a step that is a must. The inversions he gave you are great but your going to want to know your drop 3 inversions. The easy way is on your bass 4 strings take off the note from the fifth string and put that note on the 1st string. Your now playing strings 6 4 3 2 Here's an F-7b5. In drop 3 form ....................strings. 6 5 4 3 2 1 .....................frets 1 X 1 1 0 X
