It's like Max Payne but with no slow-mo and ballistics trajectory ('cause of the Magnusson Device). This takes some serious patience, skill, reflexes and so much more.
黒い楓 afaik they are affected by which material is used in the enviroment and how much space there is. So basicly it's calculated automaticly, and you can't change it much when creating a map.
the moment you realize half life 2 ep 2 is actually the combine desperately fighting for survival from a theoretical physicist inventing his own laws of nature. "WE MUST STOP THE FREEMAN"
And right after that, when they are like "Look! here comes Gordon and Alex Freeman!" as the car is violently flipping through the air right in front of them after DOG sent it flying into the sky!
After the immense amount of phys blasts he fires at the car, suddenly dog is taking the car like a balloon, this is the point where i was done, "ok dog, race you to the base!" suddenly that sentence is 10 times funnier. Also "its a good thing i don't get carsick" yea i think we might fix that Alex, i don't think you want to drive a car every after this ride.
Gonna mention a couple things people will probably ask about. The parts where we are clipping downwards through stuff are rapid save/load sequences. The loading screens are cut out for the video so it looks like a really fast clip. Every time you're stuck or out of bounds in this game and you save/load you always go down a bit. The backwards jumping thing is ABH. The short version is that if you jump backwards you go fast. We don't take fall damage at 4:46 and in other parts in the dog race map because for some reason physical damage is disabled in that map until the fight with dog and the strider ends. The reason we aren't driving the car is because we skipped some stuff that makes it work, so we can only move it by punting it forwards. It loses a bit of time in the dog race map but it's faster overall. The hunters die very fast even though we're playing on hard is because physical damage isn't scaled between difficulties.
You really need to give Alyx some props for managing to keep up with Freeman and his magic backwards squat jumping flying. There's clearly no better sidekick.
Honestly it's not completely out the realm of reality. Assuming one hammer unit is 3/4 of an inch, Gordon's top speed ABH is 626 mph. 81% the speed of sound.
Imagine this from the perspective of the characters; you're this crazy impatient dude hyped up on coffee who bashes them on the head with random objects to make them go faster. :P
Starlight Witch or from the view of the combine "prepare to attack we got enemy incoming!" Looks in the distance and sees a person jumping over mountains "ah damn, it was a speedrunner!"
Starlight Witch Gordon Freeman, heroic mute ADHD sufferer, the result of a science experiment that involved aliens, things we do not mention and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Episode 3 is cancelled, buts that's a good thing because Valve made a new source engine and they are probably going to to Half life 3 so they can start from scratch on a brand new engine.
I'm noticing a difference between single-segment and segmented version of this run. Seriously, this is probably The single most impressive speedrun I've ever seen. Great job everyone. My favorite moments are too numerous to list, but launching yourself along with the rocket has to take the cake
I knew that half life speedrun is all albout out of bounds and jumping backwards but maan everytime i see wr run it blows my mind, how runners discover these things.
Script Kiddies! (I'm not serious, I'm just acting like children that show up on every single video ever). What script was used for the Jumping? Non BHOP script jumps that fucking fast! Also, what is with this thing that you people just go though the world at will? :o
"Here, you take the gravity gun, you're better with it anyway" *Goes through the slightest effort of picking it up whilst flying majestically through the air* Yes, yes he is.
"Sheckley! We've got Antlions!" "You idiot, that was Gordon Freeman.........I think at least." 12:01 - "Dad, are you Okay? Gordon: "Here, this should help you."
