I thought Triage at Dawn was the saddest Half-Life 2 soundtrack, but this.. This song perfectly describes Half-Life 2 and what's happening there. Every time I listen to this my emotions mix, this song is dark and sad.
For me it was the saddest moment in the whole game. After I destroyed this hellish helicopter and ran merrily to examine its remains, this music suddenly began to play. Then I found the bodies of the rebels in the blood, and the survivors with a tired expression on their faces told me "Go ahead, Eli Vance is waiting for you." Damn, I felt so sorry for the resistance. At that moment, I seemed to mourn the pitiful remnants of humanity.
Same, after I destroyed the Gunship I was like "WOOO Hell yeah", but then this song began to play and I see some dead rebels and one against the wall like "when is this all going to end", this is the moment I truly learned to appreciate HL music (not that I didn't like it before, huge fan)
I think this ost was representing the 7 hour war, the gunship was surely present at that time and you killed it activating that music of eliminating an unnatural creation from an evil empire
I imagine a few people just sitting next to each other, watching the world burn as it goes into chaos. From pandemics, protest, wars, corruption, lies, and people on the internet getting more stupider time to time
As a sufferer of it, i can tell, that chronic depression feels like having this track constantly playing in the background no matter what happens around. You might even laugh at something and be happy at the moment, but it's still here waiting for you to listen in
@@SolidusCurncer not really anything "cool" in it. I felt like shit from when i woke up to when i went to sleep basically everyday with some happy moments just not changing anything as described in the original comment. At some point i considered going to an abandoned building nearby and then diving head first to the concrete 4 stories below instead of coming home from school, and i had it very damn light and easy when comparing it to other people's experiences. I got lucky that it lasted only 3 weeks and that i was (somewhat) able to rid myself of one of the major underlying issues. About one year since all of this started. Late March 2022.
@@thisaccounthasbeensuspended Very long answer for just the word "cool". Well I really think mental illnesses like depression always have a causation. So getting rid of this is mostly the only way to heal this.
@@thisaccounthasbeensuspended you were not alone at that point in time I was suffering then as well and continued to suffer in loneliness until now I had my ups and downs but now its worse I know i'll get through it either way
Kelly can make even Vangelis seem like a noob on the synth, I'd fkn pay Valve Index prices for a concert with Kelly Bailey, this song is the song where the waving lighters come up
God what a masterpiece, the game left me speachless and gave me tons of different feelings, emotions, memories and a fabulous music like this track right here
... You have just had a rough fight with deadly alien forces, but it is all over now. The battle was nuts, both you and enemy have casualties and wounded friends. People around you seem to be tired and hopeless, yet, somehow, willing to fight. You reattach your glasses and look at the first sun's rays. You still have a long day to fight for your life. You slowly drive away on your buggy into horizon, as the dawn appears....
This puts me in the mind of a war general, staring out at the battlefield full of dead soldiers of both his side and the enemy side, the tragic loss of life in the aftermath. They’ve won the battle, but at what cost?
As much as this song is sad, the opening part probably confirms this song was supposed to be played somewhere in Ravenholm. I imagine the part where Father Gregory bids farewell and vanishes into the flames. In the final game this plays after defeating the first Gunship and it doesn't make sense to me, because when you defeat all of the other bosses (Helicopter, Antlion Guard and the Striders) the music is usually scary or badass
Requiem for Requiem for Ravenholm -- You just killed hundreds of zombies with Grigori, and now you have to destroy those ships? You are still emotional about Grigori's death, and this is working on your mind. *The memories are now corrupt.*
this song makes me feel like: ´´´What Happened Here?..´´ when i usually enter o see an abandoned place in a game i feel this song playing.god damn 10/10 i feel.. idk how to express it
Stop Bullying Kids For Saying Skibidi Toilet. I Heard This From Skibidi Toilet Sure. But It's Not Their Fault That Valve Allows Sounds And Models To Use. If They Are Annoying To You Then Ignore Them. Skibidi Toilet Is No Longer Cringe. You Guys Only Know Bullying. Get Life And Touch Grass.
@@Thlormby That specific quote, means so fkn much for someone like me who got Orange Box in 2007 and have waited 12 years, finally they are back, and let's have a moment of silence for those who didn't make it.. Kitty0706 for example. I hope they have Steam and VR in heaven.
Very good, friend! I imagine myself in an abandoned hospital, as I see the slow light appear as I exit it.. Indicating that I have survived another day..
I really can't describe how amazing this song actually is, and what a deep meaning it has. Half Life 2 truly represents when humanity gets on brink of destroying earth and crushing freedom.
This song gives me vibes of the rebels defeating multiple combine attacks with Gordon where most of the rebels died then everyone takes a break to mourn the death of the other rebels. I don't know why I imagined this.
***Start of Record*** Unknown¹: Sir, we have a serious problem! General Dell: What is the situation on battlefield? Unknown¹: it's over... General Dell: Danm... place all unit's remain to the Bunker of protection. Unknown¹: Copy that.... Unknwon²: Sir, us will need hide? General Dell: Yes... miles. ***End of Record***
I miss these wonderful games, its so sad to see these good games. The thoght of never getting Half life 3 to be made is sad. R.i.p half-life one of the Best games in the World💙💙👌🏻
All you see is an abandoned harbour in an almost drained bay glooming i the mist. No one will remember its purpose, for there wont be anyone left to remember.
When your in a war, and your about to get shot by a tank but suddenly your best friend drives in front of you with a armored vehicle and takes the shot and sacrifices their life for you
I honestly think this would be a little more fitting for Ravenholm near the end of the mine section. Then again, Particle Ghost is too good of a track to be wasted.
Life's hitting harder, and 2023 is coming to the end during the time this comment is written. I hope for better future but can't make myself sure about it.
Seriously, i had some severe depressions when i was 11, and almost committed suicide, then i got some help, people can help you, but it's your decision, do what is best for you...
This reminds me of... I knew what you was thinking, you was thinking skibidi toilet ha? I'm right and im not reminding of skibidi toilet here I remind of an abandoned city, exploded, burning, no one lives there, everything destroyed...
if it comes a half life movie i want IT to be the same story like in black mesa to half life 2 maybe 3 movies like the hobbit 3 movies please make half life movie im a huge FAN
Half life needs a tv show. Just like the walking dead or breaking bad. Before, during and after the 7 hour war. Seeing the situation from the perspective of soldiers, humans, scientists at black messa, resistance fighters and Gordon freeman. Gordon isnt at the seven hour war or in those 2 decades after it. The title should be named "7 Hours". The most epic and devastating scary and yet sad scenes should be during the 7 hour war. The first season is focused on black messa. End of the first season should be when the portal opens. Second and third seasons are during the 7 hour war and the two decades after it. Second season follows the perspectives of Barney,Dr. Kleiner and Doctor Breen. Third season is focused on the resistance and the civilians. Thats some my fan fiction but it will probably never see the light of day unless Mark Laidlaw writes a book or a script. (INSERT SAD FACE).
