If that suit was originally planned for avoid radiation, hazardous chemicals, neurotoxins ...... WHY IT HAS A FUCKING WEAPON SELECTION SYSTEM AND A BULLET MONITORING SYSTEM and like theres no reason they need this .... they are in black mesa that has the same high security as area 51 ( looks like it was projected to fit in a alien apocalypse scenario)......
@@ArashWhite there is actually a helmet but for some reason gordon never put it on In the xen areas of half life one you can see lots of dead people in HEV suits and theirs have helmets
@@ArashWhite Correction: 8 years old. Or at least, correction now. Funny how time works. You can be right one second and the other you can be wrong. But hey, seconds are time as well, so they are also strange! please save me from this existential crisis im having just by writing this
@@rakunkng9895 It wouldn't really surprise me if black mesa was planning to sell a hev to the military, and in turn had the mark 4 made with weapon monitoring systems preventively made incase they show it off to them. Heck, the armor in opposing force seemed to be comparable to hev.
@@thecuchikiller Uhm... no, It's MK V (Mark 5) You can hear Dr. Kleiner says about the H.E.V Suit info in Half-Life 2 in his lab... "The Mark 5 Hazardous Environment Suit has been redesign for comfort and utility" Correct me if I'm wrong...
when you load a new map any sounds stop so its impossible to keepvthis playing till the chamber plus, its only like a minute long so evenvif it woudnt stop it woudnt last until the chamber anyway sorry 2 ruin it but i had to tell the truth
Mohammad M sorry this is late, but this is my interpretation. imagine this, Gordon has been in stasis for 20 years. To him, no time has passed, the horror that he just experienced is still very fresh in his mind. Even though the world is enslaved, he is not in his suit, he is free of it. He no longer has to fight. Then, he makes it kleiner’s lab, and their it is, the suit. The suit that he murdered hundreds of people in(albeit they were trying to kill him, but they are still human beings). In my opinion, the hl2 suit theme is representing of Gordon being thrust into this “hero” role, when in reality, he’s a scientist, an MIT graduate, not some badass super soldier. Though I do think later in the game he adopts the “one free man” title and embraces his role as the messiah of humanity. Sorry, for this super long winded reply.
@@nothingisworththebisk You mean, he legit just killed random HECU soldiers because they were like: *_LEAVE NO WITNESSES._* and murdered every person involved in black mesa stuff, and the rest are other random scientists and guards he killed for fun, I mean, that was the player playing as gordon, not really gordon himself, but it counts.

I like to imagine that Gordon was late becuase he was at a rave the night before, and this is just one of the songs that he cant get out of his head because he's still on a come down
Welcome to the Mark 4 Hazardous Environment Suit, For use in Hazardous Environment Conditions Moments Later: Voice Turns off* Gordon: Wait did it say Munitions Level Monitoring, What Does the Left Arm turn into a chain-gun, It would be sweet if it did!
I always imagined Gordon Freeman to have a similar Southwestern accent as BJ Blaskowicz, though less gruff sounding. Since The New Order, I've been playing old Hal Life again and been putting Gordon's thoughts in my head like Blasko would. Shits intense!

There’s a sense of progression from HL1 to HL2, and a prime example is what the suit plays as you put it on. In HL1, we get this goofy Crash Bandicoot style beat that makes you feel cool like a kid would when he got to wear something cool like the suit. But in HL2, the vibe changes. When you put on the suit, you don’t hear the goofy fun beat, you hear this traumatic but heroic, trimming beat in the Valve theme itself Hazardous Environments. It sort of shows how Gordon Changes in the eyes of the people following him. He used to be a regular guy that listened to funky 90’s music, and then when he finally returned he was a savior with PTSD from The Black Mesa Incident. Truly a marvel in song making, or maybe I’m out of my bloody mind. Either way~!
I recently downloaded the original HL series from Steam again and they changed this song. Now, when you put on your H.E.V. suit, you'll hear Roll Away Your Stone by Mumford & Sons.
@@uber3712 It seems even the Steam version tries to play the music from a CD first. If no CD is found, it plays the music that came with the downloaded game files. But if you do happen to have a music CD in your CD drive when playing the game, it plays the music from that CD instead of the actual soundtrack, which, in my case, happened to be a Mumford & Sons album.
this song feels like it was made for a cutscene in the game where gordon puts on the suit like an anime protagonist where there's close-ups and zoom-ins
