Holy shit this was really good. People often forget that Gordon's not some action hero, he's a physicist in a hazard suit surviving through almost impossible odds. The subtle way he started walking quicker towards the doors after hopping over the first exposed wiring, the jump scare in the vents, hell even the very brief one-liner of his name are all super in-character. Excellent job!

I only recently went through the HL games for the first time (finished Episode 2, 2 nights ago now). I found the longer I inhabited the HEV suit, the more and more amazed I became at the world I found myself in. As a lifelong diehard Halo fan, I can say that Half-Life is now easily tied for my favorite sci-fi universe. I've never played a game quite like HL1 in such that it let me PERFECTLY put myself in Gordon's shoes - or, like I said earlier - inhabit the HEV suit. I was Gordon, and Gordon was me, there was no distinction. I'm really not sure how to round this one out, but for as little time as I've spent with this 26 year old franchise - I love Half-Life and you're an absolute legend for allowing us to re-experience Gordon's journey in such a cool way. I absolutely can't wait to see this finished. Keep up the amazing work my friend! 🔥🧡

please, never stop until the end of HL1 at the very least. it's clear you have a passion with every episode of this retelling and it shows in how you portray gordon as a mostly silent protagonist. only one line from this scared, scarred scientist trying to survive. and it's to a random co-worker we can bet he's never met until this moment forced them to cross paths in this hellish moment of Half Life history no thanks to how huge Black Mesa is. it's not even cheesy, it's simply stating the facts, as if using the question the guard asks him about his name, to reassure himself he's still Gordon Freeman. we all know how the story ends. but Gordon isn't *the one Free Man* yet. and it shows in the voicework.

And thus the Movie continues. The best part really is Gorden's body language and Facal expressions, makes him more.... Human. As opposed to the Theoretical Physics crunching Badass you play as. Plus the little details like the Lights on the back of the HEV suit, gives you an idea of his "status". Found the Revolver huh? That's a nice upgrade. Pretty sure there's a Shotgun back there actually (or both, its been while since i played), but eh "parallel universes".

These kinds of fan projects can usually look quite scuffed, no matter how much I wouldn't say it due to the effort and time that went into them; this on the other hand looks amazing. I feel like it's obvious you're using clever camerawork to take the load off animating some things but that's completely understandable, and you more than make up for it with a great design for Gordon and the look he has, good cinematography, pacing and none of the animations looked too stiff in any way. I would totally watch a full-length film like this; you knocked it out of the park.

Seriously underrated work dude! Movement is still a bit stiff, but It's actually pretty good for a one-man project (and in the case of Gordon, it can be explained by the HEV Suit making movement a bit harder). One gripe I have is the voice acting, I understand you're alone on this, but maybe try and find some more people for the next episodes? I'm sure at least someone would be kind enough to volunteer. All in all, great work on the episode, can't wait to see how you interpret the rest -λ-

He's a good animator, but he completely misunderstands the half-life universe. I would show it in a diametrically opposite way, in principle, I will do so. By the way, the costume should not restrict movement at all, if this were really the case, then Gordon would have been killed long ago. However, it's still interesting to look at it)

@@SoulFreeman3650 *"...he completely misunderstands the Half-Life universe..."* In some instances, I agree, but the series, mainly Half-Life 1, doesn't really have much to go off-of, leaving most things up to how the player (or in this case, the animator) interprets them. Of course, if you have a different interpretation, I ain't taking it away, I'm just saying it doesn't necessarily need to match up with the others. *"...the costume shouldn't restrict movement..."* Now, this is really nitpicky, but in the Hazard Course, Gina tells you, and I quote "Moving around in your H.E.V suit may be slightly disorenting at first". Let's think about it. The suit is mostly metal, which I assume is lined with rubber or plastic on the inside, I don't think it would be the easiest to move around in. Now, sure this is jumping to conclusions, but, again, HL1 leaves a lot to be desired in terms of what we know.

@@stellarbastard98 At the same time, she says exactly that at the beginning your movements will be constrained, besides, I found a muscle booster in the game files , and so on. The fact that moving around in a suit for the first time will not be awkward does not mean that it will be permanent. You just have to get used to it.

@@stellarbastard98 Yes, I also confirm that the author understands the universe only partially, but I would just change a lot, down to the atmosphere, queries, and even the anatomy of mutants. My first change would be zombies, because in half life they are practically harmless, and I would make them a real threat, no less dangerous than headcrabs.

@@stellarbastard98 In fact, I wouldn't rely solely on the game. The Black Mesa disaster is a terrible event, very, very frightening. Contrary to the canon, I would try to add additional creatures, even the same Gonome. To limit ourselves to a modest selection of half-life mutants means, in fact, to show the same thing in every episode. It can get boring, and I'm worried that it might happen. We need an improvisation that will not strongly contradict half-life and will fit perfectly into the plot.

Daaaaaaaang wooowwwwwww this is amazingly done perfect just like how i would imagine office complex (or Black mesa) movie would be like, i like how skipped the first second suriving scientist and made them dead instead really fits the mood of the darkness also great how Gordon shoots the headcrab multiple times to make sure its actually dead, it actually implies that he doesnt know anything about these creatures and is just surviving like everyone else with a gun really am hyped to see what happens next and see how Gordons character develops throughout the story and his interaction with the HECU and Xenian aliens. Godspeed man you can do this!

This whole series looks great, we can actually see a adaptation that really sets in how brutal, dark, and chaotic the Black Mesa incident was. Even though it's just a adaptation, this makes the Black Mesa incident feel difficult if not impossible to survive with all the dangers. Gordon feels real as well, his emotions, actions, and movement. They all make him feel like everyone else in the facility, just trying to survive and being a witness to a disaster that'd likely haunt him in the future. And the fact he is limited to hold two or one weapon is a amazing touch since he has no where to store the weapons. I do hope this series continues, though I wonder how Gordon will handle himself when it comes to facing against the HECU.

Duuude these are freaking awesome! The movement and "show don't tell" storytelling are done extremely well. I know you are probably told this a lot, but you should you seriously look into building a team for this. Get a couple voice line writers, voice actors or maybe get another team member to help lighten the load of animations and this couldn't get more epic!
