I have made a few modifications, but I will just acquaint you with the essentials, now lets see.. The Mark V Hazardous has been redesigned for comfort and utility.. Oh dear..
Imagine just sitting at e3 and this song just starts playing. I know it will never happen but hey it gives us a feeling hope. Edit : people really need to see what year this comment was made.
totally Gordon’s theme. I always loved how it kicked in when you climb out to the cliffside of the mesa, and there’s this sense of serious foreboding and danger, but that you’re the most capable and powerful person on the battlefield. Nobody’s gonna stop Freeman.
Imagine you were assigned to guard the giant cliffside that has no railings whatsoever, and then the most wanted man in the facility shows up with an RPG pointed at your face
OMG this is the first time i've seen someone taking the right way down the cliff instead of gliding down the pipe! Holy shit, I don't know how many let's plays I've watched, both from non blind and blind ones. All of them glides the pipe! Although this isn't a let's play.. so you probably knew about it.
@@scarletrevolt By right way I mean the path that I suspect the developers intended you to take. I mean the pipe is doable, for new players it's easy to die a couple of times before making it, for beginners to video games it's probably even harder. It's more likely that the pipe was simply made for decoration. Don't know what the QA team did, maybe even some of those glided down the pipe and valve was like "oh that's an unusal way of doing it.".
@@Shrek_es_mi_pastor in half life there was also that pipe that broke and made you fall to a table (idk which part ive never played it) that was fixed in the ps2 port which included water, so having to take damage to progress doesnt sound as stupid
Everyone's talking about how Gordon would have no chance of survival because he's just a dude, but remember: Gordon has a high-tech suit that can tank a grenade at full power Gordon was taught how to use the MP5 in the hazard course The G-Man is pulling the strings, so he probably gave him a few nudges in the right direction He ends up with an arsenal of weapons by the end of the game Black Mesa is full of medical supplies, ammunition, suit batteries, and guns. So remember, he's not just some nerd with a crowbar.
I'm listening to the differences between the Compressed Version here on youtube to the one I got from Steam. Big difference. The RU-vid Compression makes the sound lose it's richness. The Deep Bass is just...gone.
@@42carlos from what I found, you can download the Half Life 2 OST free if you have the game. Thing is, I could only find this for the second game, not the first. But try to find the store page for the sound track for the first one, in case I missed anything.
I still think that Kelly Bailey took some inspiration from Twin Peaks for this absolute classic theme, he had some inspiration from 80-90s music scene for his other works.. but multiplied all with his vision. He is just so great about overall saturation with his music and sound design.

So I'm playing Half Life for the first time. And I've heard this song play at the start of TF2, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and shit. But I never knew it was from this game. That was a pretty hype moment tbh
everyone: well gordon, i see your HEV suit still fits you like a glove. At least the glove parts do. me: haha surface tension canyon go rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
@@luiscolonso131 Black Mesa is nowhere near Bernalillo County, it'd be up in Union County near the Oklahoma Panhandle near Clayton. Maybe you could make a point for Los Alamos or Rio Arriba, but... that's still kind of far even by car or train.
I always thought of this theme as the sort of transition in Gordon. He used to be a nerd with an MIT degree and he is now becoming the ultimate badass because of something he unknowingly caused
When I first heard this song in game I was absolutely terrified. Like wtf valve you gotta jump scare me with ear rape music. They pre bass boosted the song 😂
I don’t know just something about this song feels.. off. Reminds me of the first time I played Portal 2 (I think) I loaded it up and the usual valve logo showed but the guy started to turn. Scared the shit outta me.
Liar, I've seen both version of the Vavle logo and have played Valve games on and off most of my life and the valve guy never moves. But if it really moves for you then record it and post it online so we can see it. Or in otherwards *Nice argument senator, but why don't you back it up, with a source!*
