I've watched this video multiple times now and there's a LOT that just doesn't make sense. They had a chair propped under the main/front door which tells me that this wasn't a surprise. The offer to wire 30k on the spot but they were so far behind on the rent. Smh The wife putting on an oscar worthy performance. The husband calling Tom Brady as if that was gonna do anything and then he tried to flex his privilege when the police arrived. So much stalling and attempting to control the situation. This is just nuts and they're both too old for this nonsense.
Yep. It's too late for all that bull. Landlord is fed up and he doesn't want him there anymore. He's gonna pay 30k then just turn around and run up 30k in late rent while he just finds somewhere else to rent and is gonna make the landlord evict him again. The landlord already spent the money for the eviction and for the movers he's not gonna do it again. He has 30k which means he simply chose not to pay the rent.
And look at the money they have spent on SH*%T for that ONE CHILD. The wife could have been running a day care for enough to pay rent! Even $29,000. worth. If she needed a complete second story that was vacant that would have housed several kids. They are just living above their pay grade!
What gets me is they CHOSE to rent this house not like they already owned it and bought if backbwhen they could afford it and then years later got in a bind it's rent just move out
After I lost my business because of Covid I sold my house before I got behind. Made a bunch of money paid off all my debt and now live in a beautiful apartment while my new home is being built. You have to make moves not sit back and do nothing.

Just watched a deadline episode that the husband killed his wife. He had been hiding bills and not paying the mortgage. They were going to be foreclosed on the day after her murder. By her cell phone they could tell she knew nothing about it.
To anyone out there who may be in this situation one day, when the eviction crew is at your door, you need to secure a U haul and a storage building STAT! Don’t be trying to negotiate. It’s over at that point.

People were busy trying to feed themselves and keep the power on.They were doing it the right way by fighting it out in court.But unfortunately a matter beyond his control took over meaning the landlord paid someone do not send the letter or better yet: What happened here was the Landlord had his son going by the house to get the letter out of the mailbox. I rented a small 3bed room run down farm house in a cow pasture for $150 a month with some rules but when he noticed I was fixing it up from the outside in he told me I didn't have to pay rent anymore bc I was actually helping him out... 10 years rent free and happy....😊
I am currently doing same thing. I bought house on 5.5 acres it needs work. I don't have time or money right now to invest a woman said she would live there and fix it up if I let her live rent free. She been there 3 years now. She has spent a lot of money on place. I pay insurance and taxes... I don't plan to kick her out. If I sell it I plan to actually give her a little bit of money when ever that day comes.
That’s exactly right! You know they kept telling each other, “you know they have so many backlogs we’re just another number it will take a long time.” So silly. As a Property Manager for over 20 years i can tell you without a doubt these people were aware of their impending eviction... Saying they didn't receive the posted notice is the oldest trick in the book...
And, as a watchful tenant nearby, we see them posted as well. People around me have to entrances. They will try to use that excuse - we use the patio entrance, not the front door. Even though all their notices, and any packages, or visitors, always use the front door where you find a doorbell.
I’m in property management and I hear this almost every time we have an eviction. These people know they not paying rent and what happens next. Most are in denial about it

In their case it seems they went to court and was told some bs about Covid backing up their system. If that’s correct they still had more than enough time to get the money together and square off their debt. If all else fails you legit get a date to move so your not embarrassed or do what they did and get put out smh

Often the eviction process takes months to get through the Courts, and some tenants interpret the long delay as meaning that they can always just delay it again. But eventually…it’s a done deal and the eviction crew arrives, and then it’s a bit late to call and say you will pay, or decide to think about packing.
I found his “no I did not! No, no, I paid bills with it!” response interesting too. That voice on the other end of the phone accused him of blowing it. I also think that voice sent him money to help with the backrent. Which means these two just scam everyone around them.

It’s obvious by the fact that there’s no child’s bed/bedroom that the child doesn’t live there so Mom and/or Dad is probably in the picture. And before you say that there’s so many toys, etc. many grandparents buy that much and have playrooms for their grandchildren.

$30k is a house/mortgage deposit where I live. They'd be better off buying a small but modest home than renting a large palace. It'd mean budgeting carefully of course but then it's your asset.
I just love how it’s everyone else’s fault. They didn’t receive a letter they didn’t pay rent for who knows how long they didn’t call the court and see where the letter was after a couple of weeks or a even a month. All them yet they don’t claim any responsibility. Also it sounds like someone on the phone was asking where some money is and he tells them he paid bills huh guess u skipped the most important bill again.

Accepting that $30K from him is a temporary fix. The landlord would've been in the same situation in a few months and have had to go through the process all over again
If I even was behind a single months rent I would be walking around absolutely panicked and crying. I have a 4 year old. There is NO WAY I could just go on with normal life owing 30k knowing at any moment someone could come in and do this. Legit blows. my. mind. that anyone can do this.
A few months ago, my main bank had an internal issue and hundreds of thousands of people suddenly lost access to their accounts for about 4 or 5 days so I had no way of paying my rent until the issue was resolved. Let me tell you, I was in here scared to even turn my TV on or make a sound because I couldn’t pay this woman her rent, even though I’ve neverrr been a day late or a dollar short in the 2 years prior I’ve been here and the whole country (Jamaica) was affected. When I advised my landlord of the issue (+ it was a major news story) she didn’t even care, but my ass was still in here whispering on my phone calls and everything because I didn’t have the audacity to make any kind of noise knowing I owed rent. 😂 I was even trying to borrow money to get it paid until the issue was resolved but every other person I knew had also lost access their funds as well. I truly don’t know how people function like normal without securing the roof above their heads. My rent is and has always been my number one financial priority and I’ll sit in here eating air pie and nothing puddings if that’s what it takes to make sure it’s paid in full and on time.

For real I was working at the temp once the job ended because the job used a third party company to verify employment information instead of unemployment taking 3 weeks it took months . I was backed up 1 mo rent that was 890. I found a job offered to pay and the landlord told me they were not going to accept. I had already found another job packed all my stuff and was out. The lawyer for property management met me at court saying they are aholes they will give you 60 days to pay I would just leave. I was already gone gave lawyer the keys . Lived there 5 years not one day late the property manager was a jealous spiteful person

We own a half double home and we live in one side and rent out the other side. We've had our share of bad tenants who wouldn't pay their rent and destroyed the place so we had to evict them. But we never just went straight for eviction without giving them plenty of time to make an effort to resolve it out of court and make efforts to pay their owed rent. So the tenants we evicted were 6 months or more behind in rent before we took any action. That hurt us financially in the long run but we try to be fair and work with people because we don't want to have to evict. Now we have a great tenant who has lived there for several years and she always pays her rent and she takes care of the place and keeps it clean. We really appreciate that! There have been times when she was late on her rent, but she always contacts us ahead of time to let us know and we work with her. According to her lease, there's a $50 late fee for not paying rent on time, but we've never made her pay it because she's such a good tenant and we don't want to make things harder for her, especially since she's a single mom and she's kinda young(mid 20's). The fact that we have experienced really bad tenants, it makes us appreciate the good ones even more!
I had to evict a family who didn't pay me rent for an entire year and after the court ordered them out witin 7 days they tried to say they were getting a huge refund from the IRS and begged me not to evict them and they would pay me all they owed. I couldn't do it and I went forward with the eviction because they really did me wrong despite all of my generosity and I hated how they tried to bribe me with a promise to pay me what they already owed me. I even had to fly from West Coast to East Coast when they refused to vacate because they told me to take them to court, which is what I did. The fact that this guy asked if he wired the owner $30k would he stop the eviction and the owner said No, I fully understand the owner's position on the matter! These tenants should have made good on their rent long before this day!!
I’ve had tenants that decided they had the money to catch up the rent once they were actually getting booted out but who wants those tenants.? Why would you want tenants like that that you have to go through all that drama, legal fees, etc. just to get your rent. No thank you bye-bye
Your lucky because where I live if your being evicted for owing rent the judge will just say you have 7 days to pay the amount owed or you will have to leave within 5 days after the 7 days. Your better off doing a no cause evicted if you just want them gone. This happened with my brother when he was young except the judge even gave him a payment plan of just 300$ extra every month until his debt was paid off. He still rents the house 10 years later and hasn't had any issues paying rent on time since.... For my brother it was obviously wrong on his part. He was just bearly an adult and being irresponsible. But for this case it says the guy is 1 day late paying rent and landlord is already in his house the next day. I think that's messed up actually. Being a day late happens sometimes when people are really buissy with work or maybe they really do have an emergency. What's the guy even paying for when he doesn't get any privacy and landlord can come whenever he wants like that? If I was the guy I would of said f you and moved out even if the landlord accepted my money and wanted me to stay. I haven't watched the whole video yet so I'm just basing my opinion on the title. If you're dealing with the courts, in the process of a possible eviction, how is it that you don't have your documents and papers in order. Running around the entire house looking for papers!! They knew that this was coming. They always do.😊
And spending the first 24 minutes saying you are calling court and Never do. That tells me everything and I think it may have alerted Mr. Penn the same. Man knew it was coming, never told wife. I do thank Mr. Penn for alerting authorities in case the man was genuinely having a heart issue. That was smart, professional and morally righteous but did not stop eviction.
Yes! I’ve noticed that too. I have pocket folders for every piece of paper I need. 😂 My kids have folders too for their stuff, doctors appt, physicals, dental etc. I keep a bill book too. It’s just weird no one can ever find their super important papers especially ones saying they paid. 😮

Some of these companies also act as moving companies as well on days they have nothing on their schedule. I hired an eviction company to move 2 stories worth of items across town to my new place, 2 hours! It was done. Fast as ever
This brings back bad memories of this happening to me in New York City. They threw dishes in a box and just dumped them from the dish rack and cabinet. In NYC they have to put your things in storage and you have to pay a lot of money to get your things back. The men evicting me were so hateful. As it turned out they were at the wrong apartment. It was the Apt above mine. I kept telling them I had not been to court no papers had been served. I called the landlord and was pretty much hysterical and called the police. Only took 1 hour for them to empty my apartment steal my jewelry box and shatter a glass top dining table. All my clothing except what I had on my back they took. Just holding my cat and started crying watching them take all my belongings. I went to court and sued my landlord almost everything I owned was destroyed. The Landlord admitted it was a mistake. But said I still had to pay to get my things back. The Judge went nuts on my landlord and awarded me 15 thousand dollars and 6 months' rent to be refunded to me. I was in court a few times and almost lost my job. Spent a few nights at a friend's because I did not have a bed and my coworkers were so good to me that they took up a collection for me to buy some clothes for work. a month later I got my monetary award. and got my life back together and moved when the 6 months were up.
He owed $29,000 in back rent 😲. Bottom line. You knew you weren't paying your rent so you had to know this eviction was coming. You can't continue to live in someone's house for free. The owner of the house can't pay his bills if you don't pay him. Just by looking at your possessions it's obvious you buy what you want. As many times as you say you are going to get a truck he could have gotten it by now.😂
I have to be totally honest... most things in the home weren't particularly expensive items (heck the lamps are $20 Dollar General lamps), but all the kids stuff- looks like they take care of the grandkids (looks like they live there) and buy them any and all toys they want. That's for sure! 😂
Even if this guy got his court date it probably wouldn’t change the outcome. Evicting someone is a whole long expensive process and these people knew it was coming.
Dude is renting, and $30,000 behind in that rent.. about 1 year living there without paying rent. This is why I stopped renting realestate, and sold all mine... far too many scumbag renters out there, anyone with good credit has bought a house.. the renters are unreliable fools who can't get through life.

I feel bad for anyone that gets evicted. I've been close myself. However when you deliberately live beyond your means it shows you're trying to be something you're not.
I don't feel bad at all. By the time someone is actually evicted, several notices have been served, and time has been given to move on. The people who actually get shown the door by the sheriff are the entitled ones.

How they are living? They definitely had options before reaching this point but simply choose not to cause yes they are entitled. They can't even fathom the idea of having to downsize or having to make hard choices. I mean this lady's reaction to the word eviction says it all. She's never even spent one brain cell on how one even works it's beneath her. It sucks for the kids but they definitely had options to not let it get to the point it did. My Dad had made great money with a company since he was in his 20s. That company suddenly offered everyone 50 or above another job that paid less than a third of what he as making. It’s hard to find a new job when you’re 50 plus. He’s a smart guy and took some classes and started an import business out of his home. He did just fine, but not everyone is able to.
She is so annoying. Get the children out of this situation. Call someone to come get them. Her first responsibility is to protect those two precious children instead of walking around talking to yourself like it will all go away. Our family has suffered through 3 layoffs in a span of 4 years, an out of state move for work, and various other financial issues. We live paycheck to paycheck unfortunately. However, my rent is always paid, at least 10 days prior to the 1st. There’s no way I would allow my kids to not have a roof over their heads. This is insane.

Right?! On all of these they act like this is the first time they heard anything about this and that it did not in fact have to go through a court process. This is not some self help eviction (which are highly illegal and will get any landlord who tries in serious trouble) but a totally valid eviction that went through all the proper legal channels. Their not agreeing with the court's decision has zero bearing on the validity of the charge or will stop anything once it reaches this point. there is zero way that they did not know this was coming by the point someone comes to enforce the eviction warrant/writ.
Landlords being able to charge for their homes like an hotel would be causing most of the homeless in our countries these homes should be rented to our young who can’t afford homes,our mentally ill should be in hospitals.This would be a case of entitlement from the tenants and the landlords.Sad for our society

Toys come from everyone you never know who dropped those children or the one girl. My grandbaby has so many family members that adore her. If I asked for rent money in lieu of toys they'd probably look at me crazily. 🤷🏼♀️😆
I had a hard time time at one point. I owed my landlord $500. He kept telling me it was all right. I gave him that money and felt a sense of relief. I was never late again. That is the worst feeling in the world. 20k. Maybe his wife need to work or get something they can afford. This is crazy.

I have been there as well. I fell behind on my rent by one month. How that happened I have no idea I didn’t even have a explanation for. But because I have paid my rent faithfully and on time for seven years. They just allowed me to pay that month by the end of the year. See, in most cases, if you pay your rent on time, your landlord is not going to bother u.I lived there for nine years and probably only saw from them 8 times. Why? Because They said I paid my Rent on time and I took care of the place like it was my own. Keep a good relationship with your landlord…PAY YOUR RENT.
