This mountain setting on the Blue Ridge Parkway is ideal for stopping to enjoy the great outdoors with delightful scenery while you enjoy a hearty picnic meal. Many picnic tables are available with outdoor grills. There are walking areas nearby, including the Groundhog Mountain observation tower (built to resemble an old tobacco barn). The elevation at Groundhog Mountain is 3,035 ft). A restroom facility is available. This location is located north of Interstate 77 (Fancy Gap Exit) at Milepost 188.8. Just south of the picnic area is the Pilot Mountain Scenic Overlook. Carroll County offers 30 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway." Thank you for the video.

Dad grew up in Vinton and he always said the Blue Ridge was some of the most beautiful country in the world. I've only been there once, about 40 years ago when I was a kid, but your video has me thinking it's time to go back.

I took a Honeymoon Motorcycle Trip Back in the Seventies Through The Great Smokie Mountains to Fla Going Through Kentucky, Tenn, And The Carolina's...Very Pretty Country, Those rustic Cabins Remind me of the Trip..looks like so much fun...Ah to be Young Again!! You have to hike up to McAfee Knob or Devils Marble Yard while in Va. And I hope you enjoyed Va I love it here.

I just at that hotel with my family last June there beds are so comfortable!! Dining room was way over priced! such a beautiful place!!

Definitely need to check the Parkway out. Are there places to "camper" camp? I hike and do all different styles of camping. But we bought a travel trailer last year for the fam so we could travel our great country.
