The Now demolished Half-Time School in Paisley was originally opened in 1887 by the Coats family who was a major player in the mill industry within the town of Paisley. Half Time School was an attempt at providing an education for the children who worked at the mills. They would spend half their time working and half their time receiving an education. The building has been extensively damaged by fire and storm-force winds. Permission was recently granted for the demolition of the school.
