Halifax boil water advisory: More than 200,000 people impacted after facility power failure

More than 200,000 people living in parts of Halifax and the surrounding suburbs are being warned about what's coming out of their faucets.
Officials say the water advisory, which was first issued on Canada Day evening, is expected to remain in place until at least July 3.
Heidi Petracek explains why they're being told to boil their water and how people are getting by during the temporary restrictions.

I remember when I was a kid my mom boiling water often and water warnings. They act like it's the end of the world. Let's all go out and buy bottled water and waste our money and add more plastic to the world we don't need. I had a girlfriend from Poland that always used to boil her water do four consumption no matter what. You should be more worried about the other crap we drink.

Uhhh that is why we pay for these utilities, water gas electricity to be safe and secure in CANADA! Through taxes, fees and usage costs. This was planned and targeted as was what happened in cgy. You will see it will continue to happen more regularly and with big fines.

I've lived in Canada All my life, for 60 years , and I have NEVER seen, heard nor Experienced " regular water Warnings of shortages " or needing to Boil water for Purification purposes in Canada. So for Calgary - West Canada, and then just by sudden Coincidence, the Far east Canada > Halifax, to have Water shortage issues is definitely D*mn suspicious! And I wouldn't be so quick to simply write Them off nor accept simple reasons as BOTH being normal Infrastructure issues either. People may be prudent to also learn from these Events and don't wait until they're placed Suddenly in similar Dire situations themselves. And Safeguard themselves with some Emergency supplies

Keep in mind that with Calgary's water main break, only one subdivision, Bowness was on a boil water alert and only for a short period of time, overall, boil water alerts in Calgary was avoided by conservation. By all measures, Halifax's water problem has had far more impact on the population than Calgary's.

this has nothing to do with water, its wether you will comply to there restrictions or not. They are all tests to see who will comply. It is really about the huge lithium deposit that is in Calgary that they don't want you to know about. There's a similar deposit in Idaho as well. By keeping the slaves distracted they can do other things behind your back. They do it all the time, same steps same procedure.
