Round 1 of the wheelchair super league took place at Calderdale college on Sunday 17th March. And we see Halifax host the newly promoted team, Hereford Harriers in an excellent game of wheelchair rugby league.
The game was off to a good start for Halifax with early tries for Robert Hawinks and Jack Brown. Hereford continued to drive forward and in the later stages of the the first half created a number of tries for Matt wooloff, finishing the first half
44-26 to Halifax
Halifax continues their assault in the second half racking up more tries for Jack brown along with Mulhall, Green and Martin. Hereford continued the grind and won more tries for Turner and Powell even with two injuries on the side. Geraint Price picked up a nasty head injury after a collision with Brown and Gary Preece broke his scaphoid in his wrist. We wish them both a speedy recovery.
Despite these injuries a great day was had by all and we can safely say Hereford have a bright future in the super league. The Scores at the end of the game were .... Halifax 76-Hereford harriers 38
