Hey Charo, I know this may not be the proper channel to do this , but you are listed as one of the partners of gcables on their website so I’m saying this to give a sort of heads up that it seems like they are currently trying to exit scam, their website is up and running and still taking orders in and taking people’s money and it looks like they aren’t planning to deliver anymore. Radio silence for months now…
@Charo.mp4

Hey, don't worry about channels I really appreciate the heads up! Someone in my discord let me know they had had radio silence regarding an order a month or so ago so I haven't been listing my code for them on recent videos and taken it off linktree etc, but thats really sad to hear this isn't an isolated case. I have tried to reach out to them myself but didn't receive any reply either Going to keep this pinned for anyone unaware!

i was one of the very first buyers of the qk65v1 back in april 2022, it still holds up today and i’m glad to see this improved over the past 2 years. unfortunately due to financial issues, i have to sell my keyboards, including my qk65, but keeping two.

I feel like HE is going to have the same come-around as budget MX keyboards had, we just have to have patience. In just a couple years $100 boards went from GK61s with traymount (or modded o-ring), no QMK or VIA, and were practically mutilated to sound good at the time- to stuff like the QK65 or Jris where they were now aluminum and QMK/VIA, but still relied on mods- to now stuff like Neo and Luminkey that just are plain good with just switches and keycaps at $100. Soon enough the only hang-up with HE will be people who desire cherry scratch as designers mess about with different materials and molds.

@tirade75

Just so you're tracking, the PCB used in the Holy60 is a Rakka HE PCB and Geon is using a Rakka board in his upcoming HE stuff too. Also worth noting is that the Neo Lavender HE switches come from the same manufacturer as the Geon Raptor HE switches, so I assume the tolerances are likely the same.

@@Charo.mp4 you're welcome. Since you're one of the few/only streamers I've seen speak intelligently about HE. I'll also share that the QK software and MCU are the same as some other boards like the AE68 (witmod) so if they want an early peak at the software or capabilities they can grab it and check it out.

people are going for HE keyboards because of their performance, so when these keyboard manufacturers create a HE keyboard, they should focus on the response time / delay of when youre pressing the key and action happening on screen, we need reviewers to do optimum tech type of test

I've had the Wooting 60he for quite some time (I have two now, both with the Gateron Magnetic Jades & 55g springs). It truly has ruined every other keyboard for me. The difference in performance while gaming is notable, and while it may not look or sound as premium as some of my other boards, it's what ends up staying on my desk 99% of the time. I'm looking forward to the Zoom 65 r3 as it will be offering an HE pcb, and I hope we get some more premium 60% HE offerings from other companies.

Genuinly curious but why do the stem pole needs to be thicker than regular mx switches? Like can't u just make the whole pole as a magnet instead of a insert so i can use my cherry tops-

The HE PCB is the only reason I'm interested in this keyboard. I had the OG QK65, but have since moved on to higher end keyboards. I really hated the V2 design with the gimmicks, glad they made the design much closer to the OG.

Ok consider this gaming + elitist keyboard, the match made in heaven right, so basically a hall effect switch that is similar to the feel and sound of an mx black on alu or pp if ure into that and a f1 or jane compatible hall effect pcb preferably 1.6mm no flex cuts and oring mounted, with handerbeit or greg and if ure really elitist wob or beige set specially korean sub legends or cyrillic or some obscure 1980s og cherry double shot with kkb gigachad extensions cause aint no one got the time nor cash to buy gmk rgby exstentions but this is extra elite, also cherry clip ins or tx rev 1 because the newer ones arent as good. Boom perfect build that will get 10 reactions in the black simon discord server or 15ish up votes in r/mk if you’re lucky. Anyways amazing video, quality is super as usual. ❤

Any interest in Wootings new 80he? The sound tests they've done so far sound a lot better. The Gateron Jades are probably the best option for switches right now but the lekker v2s seem to have a very different sound profile. As you said Wooting adding the ability to customize was the thing that got me into the hobby. Now im looking at all sorts of ways to spend lots of money 😂

QK65 v2 Classic or Luminkey 65? Im not interested in HE. I used the Luminkey65 for few weeks, it is a good board. I like it but i wish it had screwless design just like the QK65 v2 Classic. And there is value and acoustic perspective as well. I wonder if QK65 v2 has acoustic capabilities to run foamless well as Luminkey65 ? Luminkey65 is around 150usd shipped, meanwhile QK65v2 classic is around 200usd shipped.

I really enjoyed the luminkey65, but I guess it depends what you want from an aesthetics as well as sound front. I used the QK65 without foam and it sounded great, also has top mount capabilities which is personally like! Ano quality is definitely quite similar across both so I think it will depend on how much you value the screwless/magnetic connectors as well as which mounting styles and look you prefer!

I was rather shocked at how much was changed in the QK65v2 compared to the original version. They should have given it a new name because it really is too different from the original QK65 to be called v2.
@bosenngantor9160
@bosenngantor9160 3 месяца назад
you need to see it in person, hold it or touched the v1 to understand how much QK cut the corners to make the v1 considerably affordable keyboard at the time, the v1 is absolutely felt cheap...very very cheap feeling, espescially at the bottom, QK didn't CNC'ed them just a regular cast and unfinished alu on the internal side of bottom part, it's ridiculous and I already said this 2 years ago after got my GB unit
@bosenngantor9160
@bosenngantor9160 3 месяца назад
BUT...the v1 R2 (not the newest one) was improved with pvd backplate, still looks super boring tbh, but yeah better than v1 R1, itt was felt like an absolute joke...I even blame myself to fell in to content creator "false hype" about qk65 R1...it's also a dead sound board without foam

Do you think HE technically would make more sense in low profile switches? I feel like there’s too much “useless” travel for the intended purpose of this tech; gaming advantage.
@ImOnMy116
@ImOnMy116 3 месяца назад
I think given that you can have a variable actuation point on HE switches and have the key press reset near instantly as you release it, there’s not a great reason to reduce the maximum travel as it would just put a limitation on the range you had to control. That said, long pole switches tend to have a distinct sound signature, so who’s to say HE long pole switches won’t become a thing at some point?
@K4sk4d3
@K4sk4d3 3 месяца назад
@@ImOnMy116 The point that you can specify actuation points is kinda moot. Long travel, more fatigue, no matter if you set actuation points a hair width apart. Unless someone likes setting these up at top/middle/bottom and then like have useless travel after, be my guest, but I bet that’s a minority. Setting points spread further apart, with more travel between.. kinda defeats the “fast activations” part, doesn’t it? I mean, could basically use normal switches.
@ImOnMy116
@ImOnMy116 3 месяца назад
@@K4sk4d3I may be misunderstanding your comment, but with most HE keyboards, you can have your actuation point at any spot in the keypress, and then have the key be eligible to register another input the instant you release it. I believe wooting calls this feature rapid trigger or something to that effect. also, obviously it’s all preference at the end of the day, but I think the general sentiment in the mx-style leaning hobby is that long-pole switches are more fatiguing to type on due to the more abrupt / harsh bottom out. I’ll say that’s been my personal experience, but obviously that’s heavily influenced by all manner of other things (switch spring weight, plate material, mounting style, etc.).

It always amazes me when keyboard enthusiasts use a common plank of a keyboard, especially next to an ergonomic vertical grip mouse. And to see your hands all tightly wound and strained... No amount of nice switches, cool keycaps, or heavy sound-dampening cases make a good keyboard as long as each keystroke is damaging to your moneymakers.
@Alby911
@Alby911 3 месяца назад
Is that a fact or your opinion? The last time I checked gamers or keyboard nerds rarely complain about ergonomics
@aaigjr
@aaigjr 3 месяца назад
@@Alby911 Is what a fact? Typing a lot on a non-ergo KB is harmful, yes, but I mean A LOT. Gamers don't typically type so much, and I guess you don't have to type that much to like mechs, either. That's why I initially said that it amazes me, though: when a person gets nerdy about something, they generally tend to get deep into the weeds with the topic, and it doesn't take a lot of research to learn about the ergonomics in general and about the non-ergonomic nature of the traditional keyboard form-factor.
