Wow....not understanding why contractors are building homes on ground level 🤔...FL is a flood zone, or if it isn't, it should be.

People who live in Flordia might have to move into Houseboats! Might actually make living in Flordia a lot easier! 🤔🤔🤔🤔IMHO

Might be an engineering challenge to withstand a hurricane, but worth considering putting houseboats on dry land to save people’s homes and possessions from the next “1000 years storm”

this is normal for older areas when they roads and houses were built lower in the early 70s the elevations were changed and the new areas had little or no flooding i live in Dania beach on salt water and no flooding at all

When you’re sitting just a few feet above sea level a little rain has nowhere to go.

What confuses me is why arent homes built so that the the doors and windows can withdtanda about 2 feet of water. Seems like a small cost compared to having to rip out the drywall and flooring every time

Needs to be 12 feet do to Global Warning - but eventually the land surrounding one will be wetland or seawater. A boat 🚤 would be more apropos. ;)

Why would people use Drywall when they know soon or later you will have to be replaced! Florida is swamp, beautiful swamp, but if I were to build a house would be higher up with a cement roof and cement walls. Not with wooden sticks!!

Rising sea levels raise the water table. This type of flooding will only become more common in Florida.

Insurers do not like to pay out. They will eventually pull out of Florida, as global ocean rise consumes more and more of the state.
