not sure if you guys gives a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my gf for the last days :)
@@Tuturial464 Yeah! I'd be much more interested in Brawl as "Commander with only cards from Kaladesh (or maybe Dominaria) onwards." I noticed on a recent poll, players had the option to vote their opinion on this, I hope it's requested heavily enough to be changed.
@@stilljustsoph664 befote brawl even got announced my friends and i have a custom format. 75 card similar rules to brawl but the restrictions are battle for zendikar and onward (basically the start of the masterpiece series). With ravnica giving us shocklands back, the format feels similar to brawl but with ALOT more options. Kaladesh energy is strong, all the ixalan tribes have power (I love my admiral becket brass deck for this format). When brawl got announved we got excited to see a similar thing except that it rotated with standard which was the entite reason to play formats like commander
@@josephkim3542 That actually sounds awesome! I wonder if I could get anyone to try that! I might want to start at M15 though to get all the new border cards. (And get some dope Tarkir dragons.) Although fetchlands are no fun, maybe they'd be banned. Anyway, cool idea!
I’ve actually wanted to build Hallar since I was playing Dominaria drafts. Looking forward to comparing the decks and seeing any possible ideas for mine.
Here's some cards I would recommand: Hunting Triad (instead of Soul's Might). Skitter of lizards, Scute Mob, Verdant Rebirth, Hunger of the Wolfpack and Road of Return. Hallar has good potential to go Voltron too. Look for more cards with Kicker too.
I built Hallar by myself since there wasn't a Hallar deck tech from you yet and honestly it was a little difficult. Hallar can get extremely slowed down because of the high mana costs of his win-conditions, one good way to use him is to have a slew of creatures with +1/+1 counters to bombard your opponents. From experience though, adding Servant of the Scale and Scrounging Bandar is a good way to put out a cheap card that can pump up Hallar later in the game. Biogenic Upgrade also gives him a powerful boost that can boost any other creatures that rely on +1/+1 counters. Jiangg Yanggu can also help a little bit more with mana-fixing and ramp. Rhythm of the Wild is a great enchantment that synergizes with a +1/+1 counter creature deck too.
I brewed Hallar a year ago and can also recommend Keen Sense and specially Canopy Cover. Even effects like Fling or Souls Fire since Hallar can "easily" become a 20/20 +
I've been looking to build a Grumgully the Generous EDH deck. This gives some solid ideas for includes in that deck. Grumgully might be a solid include in this deck, too.
Quick warning about the reasonable upgrades. Regarding Lighting Greaves, it would give Hallar shroud which means you can't target him with your +1/+1 counter spells
Dude how many patrons do you need to get some of your commander’s quarters decks into a game with the command zone? It would really help other people to have a stepping stone in commander without too much of a financial commitment.
do you think you could show us a mana curve at the end of these deck techs? it would be interesting and educational to see. also the amount of cards for each sub-section would be helpful!
Yknow, ive seen this guy floating around my LGS trading folder, and always wondered if he was any good, or fun. Know i know he is both! Definitely going to be snatching him up!
odd thing but this is a great two headed commander as he does double the damage vs the opposing team while just getting one counter from the ability trigger.
Love your take on the deck but I think some cards could be better... Hunting Triad is good card in this deck. I would replace Soul's Might with it. Skitter of lizards, Scute Mob and Verdant Rebirth is also good in this deck. And don't forget Hunger of the Wolfpack and Road of Return! I like Smoke in this deck too if you go the Voltron road.
Why isn't Rhythm of the Wild in this deck? Or even mentioned. Uncounterable non-token creatures that gain riot when they enter, I kept expecting it to come up. Great video nonetheless I really like the Patreon inspired content as we get to see some more obscure commander possibilities.
With all the rats that have been showing up lately, how about doing a Rat Tribal deck? I know that Marrow-Gnawer is the only really good commander, but outside of the commander, the rest of the cards listed on EDH Rec are pretty reasonably priced. Thanks!
Im interested into that. Im thinking how to make it different. By using for example artifacts when charges are depleted. But is a good 99 for korvod fae cursed king. I really recommend that.
Not sure if you'll see it, but dood I love your content, definitely has helped in deck building, would join patreon but I'm financially unstable, but if you do see this keep up the awesome work man. PS. I've been thinking of making a Mowu EDH that focuses on fighting creatures to amp the commander damage but I don't know many cards in magic so If by chance you have space love to see how you would do one for reference
Hi Mitch! I love your content and I am excited to share this video with my friend, who has a Hallar EDH deck. Throughout the video, you referred to Hallar as “he”. I wanted to share that Hallar is actually non-binary, and uses they/them pronouns. They’re the first character like this in MtG lore, and important to the inclusivity of the game.
@@MrMikeCarlson Representation and inclusivity in the forms of media and hobbies we engage in is incredibly important. It's the company saying, "Hey, we see you, and you are valid."
We all know that the real reason Mitch switched from 25$ deck techs to 50$ deck techs was so that he could keep putting wayfarers bauble in them without worrying about it's ever increasing price lmao.
