She is so sweet, cute, adorable, pretty, gorgeous and humble all at the same time. I've never seen Little Mermaid but I will definitely support this movie and her career.
I don’t care what anyone says, they can’t take Halle’s talent away. Yes there could’ve been a different plot but appreciate the girl’s talent. This is a big role for her and her career, she deserves flowers. Well done Halle!
Literally she described my childhood pool moments! Legit acting like I had a tail. Swimming and trying to sing underwater! I’m sooooo excited for this! And I can’t wait to show up dressed up too! Have to go all out!🧜🏾♀️🧜🏾♀️💙🧜🏾♀️🧜🏾♀️
Even her smile reminds me that of Disney princesses... Woah, if more people saw her singing the whole song "Part of your World" in the movie (I had the opportunity) they would forget about the rest. Believe me 😌
Halle sounds like Jodi Benson when she sings too. She’s going to kill it as Ariel. She’s pretty too. These live action Disney movies have been nothing but nostalgia for me. I love them all🤓🤍🤍
So stunning, so well spoken, so classy, so young and extremely talented. I'm extremely proud of Halle. Finally one of our fav childhood classics coming alive on screen😍😍😍
I love that she's playing Ariel! My dream was to see a girl who looked like me as Ariel. Thank you Disney. Real fans will turn out. Good people will turn out and haters can stay away. I'm happy for the babies who will grow up seeing this
she seems so sweet! all the videos of black little girls smiling with surprise to see themselves represented as a princess has been so heartwarming. It took disney 82 years to have their first black princess with princess and the frog, and half of that movie she was in frog form. It will be great to have Halle as Ariel!
It’s been said on the internet that Halle used to swim in the pool like a mermaid, wore out her VHS copy of The Little Mermaid after watching it so much, and one day dreaming of acting as a Disney princess on the big screen. Now she will be in theaters next May.
Man can’t wait to take my daughter. I remember growing up having no movies that had people who looked like me in it. Sad fact is most yt ppl couldn’t handle that judging by this one fake character but I heard Disney wasn’t looking to switch the character. She just blew everyone else out the water. So give her the respect and stop being hurt and racist over a children movie. This is proof that hate is taught.
Halle is a real life Disney Princess. She is super talented. Let's make sure we all go out and support this movie. These bigots need to be taught that the world doesn't revolve around them anymore. Apparently now Rachel Zeigler aka Snow White is not white enough for them too smh
You can literally see Ariel looking at her. I’m not even trying to be sarcastic. Her sweetness, voice, and honestly her bone structure is very similar to Ariel. Regardless I know the Bigots in all their forms won’t stop. So funny, they are made, yet the missed the moral of The little Mermaid. She wanted to be accepted for who she was…not the way she looked. The irony.
@@hansshelby1846 just proves that you don't know every black person. There are black people born with blonde hair, ginder hair, blue eyes, green eyes. Look it up are strat traveling to African countries, you'll definitely see them. As a person wjo lives in South Africa, i have seen many different black people.
This a huge movie I can tell it’s gonna be a hit it’s the most iconic Disney movie ever made , I mean 8 million likes ( recently hit 1 million on RU-vid which is massive , in one week and like 150 million views across the oficial Disney accounts wow halle WOW no Disney live actions has had that , sure there’s hate and dislikes ? But what does that do ? Absolutely nothing and frankly let me tell y y’all hating are making numbers to this movie 🤣 it’s so popular rn imagine when a full trailer drops , I’m so happy for u Halle what a big role !!! ♥️🧜🏽♀️ Disney has made millions from a teaser, I won’t speak for everybody but for whatever reason ur not into it it’s probably about her skin because she’s stunning as Ariel shes got the voice she has the ginger hair ( and don’t bs me with ginger hair representation because most movies with red heads are played by non red heads ) and also people keep saying it’s a flop it’s a flop but most Disney live actions made billions and never had close to he numbers the little mermaid is making sooo keep telling yourself it’s a flop haha.. anyway peace and love ♥️🧜🏽♀️
Shout out Hailey you nailed this real good, thanks for giving black girls their self esteem back ,they need to see their selves in this movie, you did it girl I am very proud of you you bought some soul ,spirit to this movie, We love you Hailey I will tell all black little ,brown girls to watch this over over again So they can get it programmed in their little cute ,great minds, like I always say In commercial in 90"s era a terrible mind is a terrible thing to waste ,a college commercial I remember ok.
So it's racist to not want a POC performing a role based on Dutch folklore? Keep this same energy if we see white people in movies based on other cultures like The last samurai etc.
@@entireglxy4338 just stop. None of these arguments are valid. You are talking about a literal mythical sea creature that doesn’t exist in a world with talking fish and birds. She does not have a race she’s a freaking fish. Nowhere in the original movie did they showcase Dutch culture amongst Ariel’s family. There’s a flipping crab with a Jamaican accent! Come on people. The music isn’t even Dutch it’s more Caribbean. You cannot make this dumb argument especially since her skin color has nothing to do with anything and holds no importance to who Ariel is or the plot line. Anyone can play her get. over. it.
If Halle gets the chance to read these comments I think she would be blown away by nothing but positivity and love for her. This is my most favorite movie. As a kid and once my nephews were born I watched this with them. I’m so SO happy she gets to bring this to life. Hoping she crushes it. I’m going to be in the movies first night it’s out
I wish people would watch the video of kids reacting to the movie so maybe they can see her skin color shouldn’t matter her hair shouldn’t matter it’s about talent in my opinion they picked a very talented and probably one of the sweetest people ever she is humble and beautiful and deserves the role she brought the producers to tears when they heard her sing she is TALENTED and definitely doesn’t deserve the hate she is getting over a cartoon character there are little white girls I’ve seen watch the trailer and they are just as excited they are just as happy why because its just a character they don’t see color it’s the white adults imbedding this racist mindset into these kids there is no reason anybody should b mad they mad her a black mermaid when in reality they white wash everything nobody says anything when they make Egyptians white when they clearly aren’t but we don’t say anything right so why is a cartoon a big deal? I hope the grown ups do just that and grow the hell up and realize you aren’t teaching your kids right you are only making yourself look bad because the only reason white peoples are mad is because she a black there is no other reason
lol, don't take it the wrong way, but ... it was VERY few that were standing up. I counted around 7? And maybe because to get a better view? Anyway, I'm very happy that Disney dose Cultural appropriation the right way.
@@ftobie84 That is not what I saw in the clip, I was referring to the clip, the clip shown in this youtube link. The video that the OP posted, I saw no standing ovation in that clip, except for a VERY few. Now if OP shown the clip you were talking about, then the title would make sense. But that wasn't there, in that clip I was referring too. So actually, no, they didn't all stand up and applaud when I made a comment on the clip the OP has shown us.
It always makes me wonder what motivates negative people. Like, what’s it like to be a person that took the time to count the amount of people standing and to make sure to comment about it so that other people like them, could get some type of negative high from it. Just fascinating… and sad
@@rosedemure5072 Negative people? Hmm, you really are trying to misread things :) I will try to explain it slowly to you. So don't read too fast so you can follow. I'm also a woman of POC, I'm extremely happy with Halle. BUT, that doesn't mean I'm blind, I see the title: standing ovation!!! So I went, hell yes!! Then I was actually looking for, but where? Where?! And then just saw a very few, sorry, but that is misleading, a real standing ovation is for me when MOST people actually stand up. So, what I wonder is what motivates people like you to just ignore what was said, not thinking, yeah ... title was not really that honest, 7 out of hundreds is not that special. But no, even we POC must get attacked.
It's honestly sad cuz maybe that girl is actually a great actress, but fuck man if you're...idw...white like snow you CAN'T play the role of Blade, for example, that's a very embarrasing way to force that "representation" of minorities, right?
What?! Did you not hear that they did a casting and she was the one that got the role because as DIRECTORS of the movie and Ariel she embodied that! Give credit where it’s due. You haters are weird and will still go watch the movie anyway…
I'm a middle-aged guy, never seen the movie in any format, I have no idea what it's about, no idea who Halle is, but every-time I watch the teaser, tears come to my eyes. I am definitely going to the theaters to see this movie when it's released
Same. I’m in my 50s and have never seen it. I’m familiar with Miss Bailey and her many talents and I can’t wait to see this. Planning on going with my daughter and granddaughter 😊.
This is not an animated movie, it is a real version of one, nobody must compare it to anything. Please be respectful with your comments about the cast specially about Halle Bailey 🧜♀️
The amount of pressure she must have felt playing such a beloved princess after the unnecessary comments made about her skin. Seeing just the snippet of the trailer and this interview, you can tell she poured her entire heart and soul into this! She’s going to be such a phenomenal Ariel and I can not wait to see her full performance!
@@eternalbliss330 but did they tho? Dude be serious, Do you REALLY think there wasnt a white singer/actress out there that would’ve been great for this role? Of course there was lmao but Disney didn’t want that, I’m sure they didn’t even bother trying. All these companies are so busy trying to be woke instead of just giving us accurate casting. Look at Nefltix’s Resident Evil show…already cancelled, trying to be woke instead of giving fans what we wanted. But regardless, I hope she was cast because they thought she was the best for the role and not the usual race/lgbtq casting quota woke Hollywood bullshit…and that being said, I hope she does well.
I feel so bad for horrid amount of hate this sweet, talented, lovely, gorgeous young lady has recieved just because of her skin color. She is an absolute doll and the perfect choice for playing Ariel. Just by the few seconds we see in the teaser I can tell she will blow the majority of the other live action princesses out of the water and make all the disgusting, racist skanks eat it. Keep on being your lovely self Miss Halle, shine because you are a star.
We’re not angry at her. Where angry at Disney completely Changing the race of a established character. She’s a great singer and actor but it’s getting tired how they keep raceswapping the characters. Don’t blame it on racism, black panther and wakanda forever, Nope and get out are all black lead movies and yet there the most liked movies ever so it’s not racism that’s the issue it’s the forced representation.
@@difference3maker36 Where was this anger when white people literally white washed JESUS or CLEOPATRA lmaoo, not one person is falling for this, ur angry she’s not white, even angrier that she’s black.
@@difference3maker36 who cares ? There’s a million different little mermaid films where she is cast as white… watch those. Ariel’s skin color is not important to the story, it simply doesn’t matter. Mermaids are not real. What’s important is that she’s a great singer, which she is.
@@difference3maker36 People complained that black panther was too woke and review bombed it before it came out Ariel's a fictional mermaid who talks to a Jamaican crab and talking fish her skin color has nothing to do with the story. If you wanna see a white Ariel watch literally every other form of media she's been in.
For the people who are having a hard time with Halle not looking like Ariel....skin color aside, she literally embodies a Disney princess. Her voice, the way she speaks, how she carries herself, her mannerisms everything down to the way she smiles. She's warm, inviting, silly, strong yet dainty IN REAL LIFE! And of course her gorgeous singing voice. That's why she got the role people. Out of everyone who auditioned she was the most perfect to play our beloved Ariel. 🧜♀🌊💜💙
“Just being in the pool and imagining I was a mermaid” - how many other kids of color have done the same? This is so important for representation. I cannot wait to see this film.
Emotional for stealing white peoples ideas? Do you guys like ever have any creativity or is everything a white person creates you guys are just gonna steal there idea and put a black person on it
Yeah she is the perfect person for this role! Have you watch the movie before bc if you had you can see why she was casted for this role.she’s perfect!
@@ninja-party-babe4594 no she wouldn’t their voices don’t even sound the same. You’re only saying that because she is the only other black princes that Disney has you’re racist af
We're showing ALL THE WAY OUT with this movie just like we did for The Black Panther! We have to go EXTRA hard for her & silence these racist trolls. Let's make history! Be ready to witness greatness! Can't wait. LET'S 👏 GO 👏 HALLE! 🙌
I'm with you 👏🏼👏🏼I don't really go to the cinema anymore. However I will be there for Halle. We are legion we will make sure this is an unprecedented hit. 🧜🏽♀️🧜🏽♀️🧜🏽♀️
The moment I heard she was playing Ariel, it just CLICKED and made absolute sense. She is so perfect for the role. Her voice, her look, her energy. She is Ariel. The trailer is somehow so emotion provoking and I think it’s heavily due to Halle’s presence.
