Yasss!! I find her tone to be very similar to Billie Holiday and a lot of the old school singers, her runs are insane and so very NOW (modern) haha idk if that makes sense but yes ... i understand you 😂
That a capella at the beginning gave me goosebumps. Her vocal range is simply incredible. She has a very unique singing style. She loves her vibrato and seems to avoid too much melisma. She sounds almost operatic at times. What a talent! In my opinion Disney could not have chosen a better actress for the role of Ariel. This here "The Little Mermaid" fan is looking forward to seeing the live action adaptation like you wouldn't believe. ❤️💜💚
They honestly couldn't have picked a better person to play Ariel, Halle's got one of those haunting...'classic' sounding voices? And Ariel is known for her distinctly beautiful voice. Plus she's such a stunner too! 😍
Halle has the perfect voice for any Disney princess role (seriously, her voice is deceptively versatile, I'd love to hear her do a Disney cover album) but she's beyond perfect as Ariel, simply because so much of the plot is hinged on her voice being so beautiful that Eric falls in love purely from hearing her sing, and Ursula considers her voice worth stealing. There are a lot of great singers out there, but very few have voices that are so magical that they literally sound otherworldly beautiful just holding a single note, and Halle actually has that. When Eric says "She had the most beautiful voice" he can say it with true conviction, lol.
@@JORDAN-dw7xd she has the Snow White range for sure. Easily! But something about the name Snow White leads me to believe it’s one of the roles that u can’t be colorblind about. Like Black Panther
@@justtim5078 definitely ppl would have hated seeing a black woman playing Snow White but Halle would have killed that role and it’s a lil late now for ppl to get mad bc Snow White is being played by a Latina
I never thought I'd see someone in real life that is so completely a Disney princess, but here she is. GIVE US A TEASER TRAILER DISNEY I CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE!
Out of all the Disney Princess Ariel has the best voice in my opinion. And Halle is perfect to play that role. Absolutely love Zendaya but Halle is the better choice over her for the role of Ariel.
@@myaa1636 I like Zendaya but she just doesnt have that voice for Ariel like Halle does. Zendaya is a great actor and singer, but Halle has an incredible range and so such POWER and control over her voice. If you get what I mean haha
Little Mermaid’s most specific and occurent trait from the books and Movie is that she has a beautiful voice, I am actually glad that The movie chose an actress that could actually SING, and not find someone who has the appropriate physical features ❤️
Disney Absolutely got this right! She absolutely IS Ariel! God made her a perfect 10 with beauty, voice and talent, It would be a crime to not capture her on film. I just really hope, when filming is done, she keeps making music with her amazing sister.
Finally got it right!!! Choosing a Disney princess who can actually sing for a live action musical. It felt like all this time money was first and the singing part was just a side thing; as a result we got mediocre live action musicals. Rob Marshall knows his stuff; he directed Mary Poppins Returns and you have Alan Menken and Lin Manuel-Miranda giving the thumbs up. Big, big deal. She’s just perfect for Ariel.
This was honestly the perfect casting decision. She has that angelic Disney-like singing voice. This film being a live action even furthers my point because she exudes that princess like grace, charm, and elegant beauty. This makes perfect sense. I wouldn’t be surprised if her career holds big animation projects to the likes of “tangled” “trollz” etc because her skill will only grow.
We absolutely are going to get the best version of part of your world since Jodi Benson and I don't think how much we the world, the cautious/ haters of the casting won't be fully prepared for it. Even I'm not ready for it.
I don't think anybody doubts her singing talent. I mean the Lion King had Beyonce, remember. But in spite of that, not even Bey could save that movie. I think the doubt stems from the fact that live-action remakes have consistently been a failure. They're just a cash grab.
I know as soon as she sang the first word for her Ariel audition the executives ended the casting calls “We found our Ariel! Everybody else go home thank you for your time. How soon can we get her in costume and makeup?”
So people didn’t have a problem Brandy playing Cinderella but they have a problem with Halle playing Ariel, that’s Capp 🤷🏾♀️ Edit: yes I know people didn’t have social media back then and so couldn’t share their opinions, my point was if Brandy can play Cinderella Halle can play Ariel, Elizabeth Taylor would have a been a better example
I’ve never seen that version but isn’t it just a rendition of the “cinderella story” with a predominantly black cast? Personally, I would have liked the official live action rendition of The Little Mermaid to have people who actually look like the characters. That being said, she’s an incredible singer and im sure she’ll do a wonderful job
It wasn’t that people didn’t have a problem with Brandy playing Cinderella. It was that social media didn’t exist back then. From my memory the Brandy Cinderella was popular amongst Black People. I don’t know if others watched it or not. The main ones who had an issue were the critics and the media and you could tell from how some of them referred to it or how quickly the talked about and them moved on. Some critics didn’t like it and compared it to the wiz. I think it only became a classic because my generation showed it to their children 👶🏾. I remember They had a huge problem with Aaliyah playing Akasha in Queen of the dammed. Anne Rice’s fan base didn’t think there could be real Black vampires. And critics trash the film before it was released. Aaliyah was amazing as a vampire Queen, she would have continued to be amazing if she had lived longer. The best part of the film was her. Halle will be great as Ariel, I had actually wished for there to be a movie made with a Black female mermaid when I was 8yrs after watching the non Disney version and then watch the disney. Finally after 3 decades it’s going to happen. Lol ☺️🥰
I’m sorry but they couldn’t have picked a better person and the fact that she got the heat she did because she’s BLACK??? That’s fucking crazy. Literally, she has the voice of a Disney princess and she deserves this the most.
Let’s truly pray that these sister chose to stay singing together, even if they make separate records & dnt let the crazy cut throat industry TEAR THEM APART!
Hallie has the voice of an Angel, I can't to see this movie. I know this is going to be better than that other garbage movie of The Little Mermaid from 2018. I was upset with that movie. Hallie never disappoints me.
I don't know what's wrong in casting. I am Asian living in Korea. I grow up with Diseny animation, and always think white skin princess. I never imagine colored princess when I was young , but I immdieatly see ariel when I heard her voice and see her looking. Even people like me who are not exposed racial variety understands the casting🙆♀️. I am not sure whether i deliver my thought correctly bcs of my poor English.
@@northstar5072 huh? it is only an issue if a white person whose first or only language is english says it because they know very well the history of that word. the world does not revolve around the west, dont expect non-americans to immediatley be "woke". besides who is Sharon even harming... compared to actual violent racists out there, focus on that instead minor thigns like this
@stop talking to me💞 That statement of yours literally made no sense whatsoever. "Colored" was a term for black people in the Jim's Crow Law in 1877. It meant that we were aliens, inhumans, Laundry, ect. So please stop trying to sugarcoat it like that term isn't a big deal. It's disgusting. We Black and brown people are NOT colored. We're People *of* Color. Our skin isn't "colored". And the fact that people in 2021 including yourself, a black person calling nonwhite people that is disturbing. Black, brown, yellow, and red people are PoC. Nobody's "colored".🙄
No one is forcing you to watch Halle in the live-action LM. Stick to the animation if that's your preference. There's no excuse for throwing hateful and vile comments at this beautiful girl.
I remember watching these videos as they came out and now we’re a week away from the release it’s a little surreal lol I can only imagine how Halle feels
To all those coming here with the intention of hating on this beautiful girl, get this in your thick head. HALLE BAILEY IS ARIEL. Deal with it or don't, that won't change the fact that she is and will CONTINUE to be the face of Ariel. She will be an inspiration for the next generation of girls and boys who will watch her, just as the animation did for the past generation. Your evil and ignorant comments won't change that.
Girl WOW!!! how AMAZING IS THAT VOICE!!! HALLE WOW!!! I LOVE IT! thank God for blessing us with your voice!! You guys are awesome together as well! You guys stay keeping it 💯
@@giovaniviniciusdeoliveira3802 How many songs are in the movie…Someone said that The Little Mermaid has the most songs of any princess movie…So perhaps that’s why Halle was chosen😉
