If you decide to sell this receiver, I'm pretty sure you won't have any trouble finding a buyer. This will make a great addition to somebody's collection !!

Yup it will. I will finish up the final alignment and let it run for 7 to 10 days. Then off to a new home. I already have a very nice S-40 in my collection so I will indeed be selling this unit.

this was the receiver that got me interested in ham radio.. those green dials and the old arc 5's my elmer was using was the start of decades of hamming and a career in electronics.

So my S-40 now came to life, but the first two bands makes no noise, the last two work seen to tune lots of frequency but no clear sound🤔

Thanks for the series, very educational. I had a s-40 from my great uncle years ago but sold it on ebay, it worked but shocked you, now I wish I had kept it. I did keep the s-76 though.

Trusting you learned my 5 steps to properly restore your S-76.. Dont skip any, do the full restore. Remember, There are lethal voltages present. Do this at your own risk. Be careful. Caps stay charged even after you shut it down.

I wonder what is causing my s-40 to overheat some of the tubes, and no sound come out.
