@Greg Honeycutt anybody who was being impeached had closed door investigations preceding the hearings. All such investigations were lead by a special persecutor, who was appointed by DOJ. In this case Barr's DOJ declined to investigate at all. Hence it falls onto Congress to do the investigation. The investigations conducted by Congress are to be conducted under Congress rules. These rules were created by Republicans in 2015 - so they follow them. When the investigation is over - the result is either bring in indictment (articles of impeachment) or decline to persecute (which in this is unlikely to happen, since there is a sea of evidence of wrongdoing). Once articles of impeachment are introduced - the Congress will hold public hearings and vote. If they vote to impeach (indict) - the matter proceeds to the Senate for trail. In the Senate trial will also be *public*. Trump will get to defend himself during the trial. Then the Senate will vote on conviction.

Or does the house simply vote for impeachment, and its up to Senate to decide if that impeachment will hold? There is no such thing as "Cross Examination" during an investigation. Both the United States Constitution and standing Supreme Court decisions, "Due Process" only applies to Courts of Law, it does NOT apply to a Congressional Investigation or trial.

‘Why Do You Think The Rules Do Not Apply To You?’ Because the rules never applied to Gaetz, as a teenager and young adult he committed so many offences such as DUI assault against police officers, but his daddy ( Don Gaetz, a Florida politician) always kept him out of jail. As a representative, how many offences? and I am not talking about the underage prostitution and the use of public money. Gaetz, as a congressman lived with an under age boy he pretends was his ex-girlfriend brother she forgot at his place when they broke. I never had a girlfriend who forgot her younger brother when we broke. A comb, lipstick, shoes, T-shirt, yes, but a teenager, never. Oh, and his LSD consumption? is it legal?
