Omg yes! exactly what I was thinking also, we all had days when we are so drunk and all we want is to hook up and have another girls company, life just sometimes sucks.
I love how the music just literally roars at you when Michael reveals himself, because she instantly recognises the psychopathic murderer who attacked her grandmother 40 years prior.
1:31 Michael is thinking: "Yo man I feel your pain, it really hurts to get your heart broken. Let me help you get rid of the pain. Trust me, it's gonna be quick."
Love that moment when she sees him, and realizes everything her grandma was afraid of was true. And when he steps into view, he's not in focus, and only for a second. Love that.
I love how he always slashes them to get them moving. He loves the chase. God bless him, the only slasher that actuallly scares me living out in the sticks.
Not gonna lie Oscar had the most realistic death. He wasn’t just straight up screaming. He was like kind of surprised and just like Jesus Christ this is really happening! He also seemed really panicked to which also seemed really realistic. So props to Drew for executing his own execution so well. Also I love how even though Michael could have killed Oscar immediately he didn’t. Because he wants his victims to be scared first, similar to Pennywise except Michael doesn’t *need* them to be scared he just likes it. Really captures his insanity.

@@joshz6975 So far the only one he's left alone that's talked to him was Loomis. They both had a chance to kill each other then and there and Loomis tried to reason with him. But instead of killing him he just wanders off.
Michael is the Greatest Stealth Serial Killer on film. For him to move across the yard to mere feet from Oscar in darkness with Oscar being none the wiser is noteworthy.
When something watching you from the shadows disappears one moment and everything briefly goes dark and becomes light, that's your cue to MAKE A BREAK FOR IT!!!!!!
He was a member of the League of Shadows, trained to with stand sheer amounts of pain, and vowed to never utter a word, he is fear incarnate, "The Boogyman".
@@minifazeswaythe197 Jason and Chucky don't come close to Michael in the sense of suspense and stalking. While both are great iconic killers, they are definitely no Michael Myers and to be fair Jason only exists because of Michael Myers.
*Edna Mode:* Oscar, October 31st 2018, not a superhero, but a good example. Tried to run from a notorious serial killer when his cape got snagged onto a metal fence post. Giving the killer ample time to finish him off. NO CAPES!!
3:05 at this moment, Allyson finally sees the reason why her grandmother hates Halloween, Laurie was never paranoid or psychotic, she knew The Shape would be back.
@Bobby Papoutsis it's a mix of both honestly it works the same way with Jason they are both extremely smart you can't hear what they're thinking or what they're planning to do but they though of it already both know when to leave a body and when to hide a body
I love that, despite her thinking that he attempts to pull off another dumb stunt with his screaming, at 2:59 we can see she still came back RUNNING (for the odd chance that it wasn't him doing that). that's generally what I liked about this movie, the majority of the victim were actually likeable. (also, Andi Matichak is an absolute scream queen in the sense that her screaming *sounds* really great and convincingly)
Exactly. Every victim in this movie is somehow likeable. In Halloween kills, they’re so stupid that you end up rooting for Michael towards the end because he’s the only competent one.
@@TonyMontana-pg6to even Laurie only ends up doing the smart thing (staying away from him and, potentially, letting special forces or the freaking army handle it) not by choice but by chance.
@@xxxaragon To add, most works would have Allyson yell at Oscar for what he did. She almost did, but caught herself and said it in a calmer voice and proceeded to simply leave the premises afterward.
@@TonyMontana-pg6to I see it as the fear blinded them so much that they were making silly mistakes because of it. If you think of it enough, most of the mistakes are justifiable. Still stupid, but understandable.
One of the best scenes in the movie. For a number of reasons. 1) It helps for one that Allison is likable as well as her friend. So obviously you care if they’re gonna die. 2) Filmmaking: Michael getting closer and closer as the lights turn off is scary and hilarious as the same time. 3) the gore. The gore is uncomfortable yet done offscreen to the point where it isn’t disgusting. 4) the music. I don’t need to explain it
I do love that they minimize the gore but just enough to when we do get an actual real gotefest in this series (firefighters) it's a surprise. I love that they know how to use it sparingly.
It's still mystery Cause if that's the case the lights with motion sensr2o must turn ON He came from the tree to other side without the lights not turning ON until ne fulltpy reached there
My favorite part of this scene is the implication. Nobody says a word, Allyson knows exactly who she’s looking at and she knows that everything Laurie said was true.
I love that moment with the music when Allyson finally and instantly knows that fear her grandmother has been trying to tell everyone about. You don't believe it until you experience it yourself. Got chills on this part.
This was honestly my favorite scene. The way Oscar just wave, thinking it's a neighbor. Instead it's Michael just standing there, and the kid just talks to him completely unaware. But the end of it, when Allison sees Michael step into view, Perfecto.
This isn't a reboot nor is it remade it is just starting a new timeline where there was never a remake or sequel to a remake nor Laurie and miachel are not related
@@lxluffy1188 i know lol, you know what i meant tho. Its hard to re-hash a horror series in modern time without ruining it with jump scares, gore and nudity. this movie brought the originality back, pure suspense.
Damn, her scream at the end is literally perfect. Just sheer terror and dread, that feeling when your stomach drops and you realize something horrifying. The more I think back on this movie, the better it is.
What I absolutely loved about this movie was it made the REVEAL of the bodies more horrifying than the murder itself. It's the total opposite of what Zombie pile drived into our faces during his little spout. Instead of making Michael grunt and stab the kid 6 times with blood splattering everywhere, he gives us one simple stab and then the lights cut out. We don't see anything, we just HEAR Oscar quietly and slowly getting impaled. We don't see what he looks like until Allyson finds him so our surprise is just as reactive as hers. Halloween 2018 knew exactly just how much to show us without Michael's kills getting boring, and actually made us feel sorry for almost every victim after they died. Except for Ray. He was dimwitted and annoying lol.
I think Rob had Michael go overboard for the sake of it. Sure in these times the gorier kills are necessary to get our attention even though some bloodless kills can do the trick just fine but there's still such a thing as overdoing it. I mean Halloween Kills was comparable, but they didn't look overdone for the sake of it. Michael was furious so he was done showing mercy.
3:17 Fun fact: That audio cue was created by running a bowstring across a guitar, a la the solo from Led Zeppelin's Dazed And Confused. The idea to do this for this scene was conceived by Cody Carpenter, John Carpenter's son, and Daniel Davies, the son of Dave Davies, who himself was the guitarist for Rock n' Roll Hall Of Fame band The Kinks.
Oh my gosh that shot at 2:12 is terrifying. Where you just see Michael's silhouette with the lights shining on him. Super scary. Also-the music in this clip is amazing!
Finally...someone adds in possibly the single most disconcerting aspect to Michael Meyers. The subtle, even, normal "Hey, I'm going to take a walk tonight" breathing.
Michael is simply discovering his artistic talent after that kill with Bob in the original. He's getting more creative. I'm honestly happy for him ngl.
Love the jumpscares in this film. No screaming, special effects, demon shouts, etc... Just Micheal watching you while he let's the environment and soundtrack do the jumpscare work for you. :)
@@scopiojo1467 , They may say that they aren't related, but I still believe that they are. I find it stupid that they changed the concept of Michael not being related to laurie. Finding out in Halloween 2 was so suspenseful and a cool scene. Michael is related to Laurie and that's that.
@@Je11keng No, not the Rob Zombie remake. Halloween 2 as in, the direct sequel to the very first movie. It revealed that Laurie is Michael's younger sister. The 2018 film made Michael and Cynthia (Laurie) not siblings, which is bullshit.
I honestly felt he was going to let him go because of a certain understanding of not being able to have the girl he wants. Then I remembered, Michael Myers just strangled a kid to death twenty minutes ago, and my hopes for my hopeless chubby romantic friend here dwindled. 😂
Michael steps into frame, the eerie sirens, the heartbeat of the bass drum and the chase is on. I swear this is the foundation of Halloween. The combination of this stealthy monster and the music to transcended this killer to the next level . I got goosebumps when I saw this scene. A lot of nostalgia. They did the Halloween series justice with scenes like this. 👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽 bravo
@@ItsGarrus Oh I can. Done it more than once and I'm Rank 3 killer using Myers, Piggy, Ghostface, Billboi, Clownzy and Trapper the most. But I'm a pure Myers main
I think this is one of the best executed scenes in the film. We (the audience) know that it is Michael and not the homeowner that Oscar refers to. It's like we're all in on what's happening and drunk, clueless Oscar is the butt of the joke-- well, his death.
It's so awkward when he says "Whats up" Michael just stands there and breaths, like just imagine getting advice without the person giving advice by talking, I just die laughing. Telling your issues to the Embodiment of Chaos, Death, And Carnage is just probably what made this movie so enjoyable, the actually comedic scenes.
Somehow John Carpenter was able to perfectly capture the dynamic between Michael and Alison with one sound. And he nailed it. Allyson didnt believe her grandma about the Shape. Then she comes face to face with him right after witnessing the brutal murder of her friend. And her worst nightmare becomes reality. All perfectly communicated through a bow string and an electric guitar.
Dude just sitting there letting Michael stalk him until he can pop Tier 3 on him at 2:32. Jokes aside, I love the detail in having the steam escape from his stab wound after the death blow is dealt.
It's just sad that, even though he was a D-bag, the guy was just having a chill conversation with Michael and then he gets horrifically murdered. Don't talk to strangers...especially at night in a Halloween movie.
