I think the butterfly is supposed to be like Mothman. When it's lit, it's red like Mothman's and has a similar face.

The ghost figure in the haunted house is a “siren of the sea. “ They are half women half fish (mermaid). They would sing songs that sounded beautiful to the sailors. This would lure the men to close to land causing them to crash and then perish.
