I am a life long Utah resident. And I also lived in 509. A street or two over from the 509 house used. I actually got to watch them film as a child at night. It was such a cool experience, as at that point, Halloween 2 was the scariest movie of my childhood. They showed it on tv (Fox 13) as the Sunday mid day movie a lot. Shortly after these films were all shot, my family moved to Magna which is also part of Salt Lake City. And got to watch them film the movie Bats, then the Steven King series “The Stand” and eventually a bunch more films and tv shows. Halloween was the reason I got into acting in films myself when I got older. I have now been in a couple horror films and also a producer on a couple of them as well. I was supposed to be the sandlot as a kid (my best friend and his dad were), but I was sick during the day of filming, so I couldn’t go. :(
As an Utah resident, I constantly drive by a lot of these locations and point them out to whoever I’m with. I used to live right next to the little power plant where Michael throws the worker and knocks the power out for the town. I love these movies so much!
My dad played Jamies dad in Halloween four. Alot of the actors aside from the main stars were cast from here. He got 4 of us in as extras. I remember the wrap party, they were serving orange cake, was a lot of fun.
Hey there! I had no idea those movies were filmed there. I lived in Springville, Utah at the time. I know you probably already know this, but "Footloose" was also filmed in Utah, (Provo, Payson, Lehi, Springville, American Fork, & more) in 1983. I watched "Live" the dancing scene where the dad gives Ariel money for fries at the High Spot (Which isnt there anymore). It (was) on University ave, i believe 400 south? Its near Albertsons in Provo. Also the bar was on Center street Provo. The Lehi Mill is obvious, cause you cant miss it just off the I-15 in Lehi. Utah. Anyway...great video!!! I learned something...... ALSO, I live now near where Halloween III was filmed (Lolita, Calif). Im in Arcata, Calif.
Welcome to Utah! I have been to Harry and Lloyd's apartment building before and some of the sandlot filming locations but I definately need to check out the Halloween 4, 5 and 6 filming locations.
Fantastic video! Sandlot and Halloween have always been such a huge part of my life. You did great at getting back to the actual Sandlot too, apparently the lot owner does not like people going back there. Also when you were talking about the apartment from Dumb&Dumber when you said "Billy in 4c" my favorite band wrote a song forever ago called "Billy in 4c never saw it coming". Must be from that lol
I’m in Idaho, just a few hours away from these locations. I’m definitely going to plan a little fall getaway trip this year to see all of these locations!!!
Halloween 4 (1988) is my 2nd favorite Halloween movie just a half a point behind the original. I was a little bummed that Tampa Jay didn't cover Sheriff Meeker's house, The Police Station, Ridgemont Mental facility, Earls Tavern, The School, The power plant, The Bridge or the Mechanics Diner scene locations but this was still pretty darn cool. Hopefully Tampa Jay will come back one day & do a more in depth H4 locations video. 🎃
The children's hospital in Halloween 5 is the Olmsted plant in Provo Canyon. My mom's friend managed that site for many years. I used to housesit for him and his wife, it's very secluded down there and gets creepy at night. One time while housesitting there was actually a movie being filmed there, it was kind of annoying hearing them all night long.
Can the public access it? I was there in 2021 and couldn't figure out how to get up the hill? Is it tresspassing? Im headed back next month and Im hoping to get to it.
i live near salt lake visit here every halloween to celebrate my all time fave halloween film that being halloween 4 though halloween 6 is also a fun one for me
❤❤ Awesome you Madd my day Tampa Jay.. So nice to see something more. Don't get me wrong I love the haunted houses but so many can get to anyone. It's nice to see something different. I love my Halloween.. keep them coming. ❤❤❤
Thank u so much for doing this episode. Halloween is my favorite movie franchise. I've lived in SLC my whole life and have been around many of these houses a lot growing up and never once made the connection to the movies. So cool!!
I watch your videos to see a bunch of stuff in FL where I love to vacation (and plan on moving), then I see a video of you walking around in my current neighborhood lol. super weird
So sorry bro, I'm watching your video and the TB game at the same time at 5:48pm EST and just saw that the game ended....was really hoping to see you guys up here in Baltimore
I live very close to the Vincent Drug. I drive past it multiple times a week and constantly show people who are visiting and tell them about it. I possibly think it's a lot cooler than it really is.
It’s very cool seeing all of these locations! Like me, I bet a bunch of people that live nearby had no clue. I’m super hyped for what’s coming tomorrow. The MOST terrifying haunted house? Oh man it’s gonna be awesome!🎃🤘🏼
I loved this! Stand By Me was filmed in Brownsville Oregon....another great classic. We live 3 hours north of Brownsville. It's grest to go all the 80s movie locations in Oregon. We have been to the Fear Factory in Salt Lake...not inside..they were closed. LeHi Utah has the mill where Footloose was filmed. We were just there in June. You should visit. Anyway...this was awesome! And yes I'm a fan of Chris too! Thanks for the fun! 🖤🐈⬛🖤🐈⬛ Aka Julia ❤
Curious, you said the interior of Harry and Lloyd's place wasn't filmed at the Smith Apartments... but I recently did a video where I filmed outside there and went inside as well and it looked a lot like in the movie. Are you sure?
It is cool seeing these filming locations from loved historic movies. Thanks TJ. I'll bet the house with the No Trespassing sign, the people have probably had enough of visitors wanting to see where the movie was shot?
Nice, your in Utah! There are some fantastic Haunts there. Are you planning on visiting Lagoon? It's a great family owned park with some great dark rides and Roller Coasters, especially their newest one. They also have a solid Halloween event. I don't think they let people film the houses, and It's definitely not on the same level as some other Haunts, but fun nonetheless. If you end up going to Lagoon, and do any of their Haunt event attractions, you 100 percent need to do the Seance! It's an uncharge Haunted House/Show, but it's definitely the best and most high quality thing there(besides the rides). I highly recommend the whole park
Oh my gosh I quote Dumb & Dumber all the time lol 😂 One of my favorite movies ever. “I thought the Rocky Mountains would be rockier than this. That John Denver’s full of ____ man.” Lol 😂
hey! you should do sorta like a fan recommendation.. as in us fans tell you movies that you should do a filming locations on.. & you can maybe let us know if you can do them! please! I’m a HUGE fan on movies & also of you doing this filming locations! but yes there many movies i want you do to filming locations on..
@TampaJay when you zoomed into Tommy Doyle's window it looked like an arm or (could've been a curtain) showed up in the window. Thought it was a bit creepy haha.
@@TampaJay Jay , on the left side(from the inside) of mini blinds is a rod that is turned to open/close the blinds. The window was open and it was windy. Ours does the same. Could be what people are seeing.
I worked in Midvale for many years. The address of 21 on Vincent Drug is an actual address. Prior to about 1998ish Midvale had their own address system independent of the county. So this was 21 North Main Street. After 1998 or so Midvale City adopted the Salt Lake County address system which gave it the the 7696 South Main Street. Side note, my neighbors dad owned Vincent Drug.
I’ve lived in downtown Salt Lake City the past 10 years and had no idea about the Halloween and Dumb and Dumber filming locations. I drive by those apartment buildings frequently and will be staring them down now 😂
The police station my uncle used to work at was used in those movies. The exterior shot at the end of Halloween 5 had the outside of that old police station. Shortly after, a new police station was built and the old building was torn down. The Surf N Swim is in that spot now. This is in Layton.
Omg i lived across the street from the scene in dumb and dumber in the limo. It was a burger joint and i got to meet him. AND my great grandma lived across the street from the michael myers house. I remember being so terrified because i was 5 and i didn’t understand it wasn’t real. I was convinced that michael myers still lived there 😂😂
I think it makes sense that the mask would look different over the years. If a company puts out the same mask each year, there's bound to be slight differences. On a side note I just saw that Danielle Harris will be at New York Comic Con next week.
@@TampaJay what's your take on why only 19,704 showed up to a game one WC playoff game? Such a bad look for Rays fans who really care about the team like you. I heard price, but whole upper deck, bleachers & bleachers in LF is $30.
Well technically in Halloween 6 was posed to be the Myers house...which looked more like the Myers house from the original Myers house..which always made me wonder why didn't they just use the H6 Myers house aka strode house in H5 rather than the one used in H5 as a stand in for the Myers house that looked nothing like the original Myers house from the first movie
Bro at like 10:52-10:55 theres something that looks like an arm or a figure of some sort that moves in the window. It is really really ghostly. I thought maybe a curtain but it legit sways in then out of the shot
@@TampaJay yeah brother. I love your channel! And I am heavy in the paranormal side of life. I wasnt expecting to see anything. But it caught my eye right away lol Im surprised no one seen it
This trip was booked and paid for back in March. Set aside the rest of October for what I thought would be a long post season. Not a reality now. Despite the loss would have still loved to have been there for the last game. Ready for next season.
