Soooo rad to see these locations again, thanks Sean! It’s been like 32 years since I worked on this, crazy! Here’s a fun fact, the butcher knives we made for Halloween 5 were actually out of the same molds we made for Sam Raimi’s Intruder! I have some rad photos of the knives stuck in my head, haha, in fact there is a photo of this in one of my RU-vid videos! 😜👍
MrTruboy thanks so much! Yeah I did special FX for movies from ‘87-‘07 it was crazy! I was only 16 when I made all the butcher knives for Halloween 5, it was so fun! Cheers🎃
@@dr.loomis4221 Hahaha, wow Dr. Loomis you seriously just cracked me up! Thank you! Do you really think me mentioning that I worked on HALLOWEEN 5, one of the worst movies ever, would actually drive traffic to my channel?! Have you seen my channel, it’s pathetic, haha! I get almost NO traffic! But honestly I left this comment for Sean not for you. He knows that I’ve been working in the entertainment industry as a special FX artist and Lead Sculptor at Walt Disney Imagineering for over 35 years, and we’ve chatted about movies I’ve worked on like Men In Black, Independence Day, Batman Returns, Hook, Stargate, The Abyss, and many more. He is a huge fan and prop collector. So I thought he would get a kick out of the fact that I worked on Halloween 5 and we used the same knives as we did on Intruder. Anyway sorry my comment tweaked you but you are entitled to your own opinion. You know, with how messed up the world has been these past couple years how about spreading some positivity instead of more negativity in this world! Just a thought. Be better than that!👍
Don Shanks answered a question I've wondered when I first saw the trailer years ago. I remember seeing SWAT team members and all I was thinking "Ohhh man, Michael Myers is going to take apart a SWAT team in part 5". I was def disappointed when that didn't happen. Really great to see Mr. Shanks get to talk about and re-enact taking down the SWAT team. That was a huge mistake by the producers when they cut that scene.
How many times SHOULD you watch it? I've seen it a good 400 or times or so and intend to do so ANOTHER 400, assuming I have a normal life span...I CONTINUE to find new things to appreciate about it...An absolute MASTERPIECE....
12:35, the colors on that house, ouch. Nice seeing and hearing behind the scenes information about these movies. Hard to believe this came out 31 years ago. It's crazy to think it was that long ago.
I met Don Skanks in 2007 at the Tattoo Horror Festival in Nashville TN. Such an elephant. He remembers everything and was nice enough to take a picture with me and sign memorabilia as well as answer questions.
Nope, you are definitely not alone there. I actually loved the first 6 Halloween movies the best. Halloween H20 all the way up to the newest one are my least favorite.
@@Hollenthon2468 I Liked H2O up until I realized they Erased 4 5, and 6, which I believe is One of the First Movie Franchises that Acted like they're Sequels didn't Exist... Then of course 2018's HALLOWEEN KILLED All Of Them, which wasn't Too Bad of a Movie... . I Like looking at 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, H2O, and it PAINS The Fuck outta Me to say 8 are Good for me in the Same World, even though it's Hard to Put Together. But I just LOVE watching Loomis Constantly Tracking Michael Down!!! To think they wanted to KILL 2, 4, 5, and 6 of Dr. Loomis Trying to Kill Michael, Sucks to Me!!! 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, that's FIVE Movies of the Loomis, Michael Hunt!!! FUCKIN LOVE IT!!!!!
Sean ive been a fan Of the Halloween series since i was 4 years old, this would absolutely be a dream come true man. I could only imagine walking around with Don Shanks seeing all these cool places. Would be cool to meet you one day bro. Been wanting to start a Horror Podcast for the last year, it's cool to know there's more Horror Nerds in the world, other then myself. Awesome series brother!
love Don Shanks as the shape and he seems cools asf , his memory is amazing , which is pretty cool for fans of him remembering every details about the movie .
I would especially love to see the original Dr Death footage reworked into the film as it would make the whole Thorn tattoo symbol appearing make more sense than just showing up all of a sudden like it does in the theatrical cut.
The entire tour had me marking out. Seeing Don Shanks in great "Shape". But the bonus was actually the ending!!! OMG you made me laugh so hard!!! The message from the caller was hilarious!!! Great job. God bless
That caller message is an ongoing joke between Sean and Robert Rusler where Sean keeps avoiding doing a episode on locations from Nightmare on Elm Street 2 so that was Robert giving him the finger.
What a Champion, remembers all these actors names, remembers where everything was shot, where he was standing in the shots and doesn't bag out the movie at all.
Here is how we can resolve the whole Myers house saga. The back story for Michael Myers is that he is suffering nightmares and hearing voices. Let's assume this first happens when he is five years old and in Kindergarten. Even in Doctor Loomis' own words in HALLOWEEN 5, he instructs Michael to "go home" "...where it all began." Hmmm. The Myers family would have lived in the Gothic mansion at that time. (My own layout of Haddonfield has this house situated in the eastern part of town and Michael's parents have real estate holdings throughout the community). So, in the summer of 1963 before Michael is in first grade, the family had moved in to the simple Victorian dwelling, just in time for the series to begin on-screen. (I have 45 Lampkin Lane being situated in the western part of town in my own Haddonfield layout). As for HALLOWEEN 6, we can pretend the original Victorian house was renovated and enlarged. And, in HALLOWEEN 8, the house was renovated again, returning it to its original state. But, because it was never sold on the real estate market, because of its bad history, Strode Realty decided to cut their losses by completely razing the property in 2002. There! I hope this helps. 😊 🎃
There are ways it could easily have happened. It's not nearly the conundrum some make it out to be...But Halloween 5 is kind of like an unpopular kid at a high school...people have been putting it down for so long, many don't even remember why they didn't like it, to start with...they just know they're supposed to say they hate it, so they DO...
@@tgriffin3059- Because, as usual, people are sheep. It's the same thing when people say they hate the prequels and or the sequels in 'the Star Wars saga,' but never give any specific reasons as to why. I swear I cannot stand cognitive dissonance and weak-minded people.
@@The-One-True-Emperor Halloween 5 has its' minor eccentricities...but if a person responds to the original '78 motif...of the Bogeyman stalking a group of people, and Loomis stalking HIM...there's not another film in the series that is as RELENTLESSLY anchored to those elements as this one...
If we can get the Snyder cut of a DC film, we should be able to get the alternate Halloween 5 scenes with the O.G. Dr. Death and Shanks slaughtering the swat team dammit!
So friggin cool!! So much fun watching these!! I'd love to see an original The Stepfather location video. Big fan of that film and you can't find anything related to that (figures, location vids) nothing! Would be an honor to meet Jerry Blake himself Terry O' Quinn!! I can dream can't I? "All we need is a little order around here....ORDER"!!! Great video again Sean!
That's was Danielle Harris's 2nd Halloween movie I was 5 my family watched it and at the end of Halloween 5 I'm heard her echo after the shooting she cried and yelled: noooo!
I remember seeing him in the ancient movie 'Sweet Sixteen' and he was smaller then....but a time or two he had to lift guys he was fighting with, and you can tell he was strong, even back then...
As a way to explain why the Myers house is different in part 5, I tell myself the Gothic house is a relatives house that Michael would visit as a child. Sometimes it works.
When I'm (holy shit) 70 may I be half as buff, sharp and nice as Don Shanks. To keep in that kind of shape (little pun) after getting paid to be thrown off buildings for years, wow.
One thing I have always wondered about _Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers_ that the title card used at the beginning of the movie just reads _Halloween 5_ It makes me wonder if the subtitle _The Revenge of Michael Myers_ was an afterthought once post-production on it was done, but because the movie was so rushed the production crew did not have time to go back to redo the title card for it.
When I watched this one years back I always thought the guy that comes up in the plaid shirt an calls Rusler was Brady from part 4 didnt know it was Jason Lively.
I got the feeling Sean and Don didn't care for each other. Sean seemed totally disinterested in most of what Don had to say and Don seemed really happy to re-enact kill scenes using Sean as the victim. I've seen nearly every episode of HHG and I've never seen him so "bleh" about his subject. No outtakes of them either.
@@samloco6463 Halloween 5 is better than anything in the series except 1 and maybe 2...I regard 2 and 5 as a tossup...If you like true Halloween movies...meaning those based on the original '78 premise...there's only 4....1, 2, 4, and 5...no other sequels adhere to that classic motif...
Don seems like a nice cool 😎 guy . i like he stays in shape . He is a nice killer 😂😂watching Don describes as Meyers it makes the movie seem less scary my strange humor very cool video 📸📸 Sean
At the time when I filmed this I didn't know where it was at. I have since been there but didn't get to go inside. I may do a little follow up to this at some point.
Damn don shanks kept in shape. He looks better than Nick castle at old age. Shit, he should’ve came back for the sequels. I love Halloween 5 all the way through. Everyone says 5 was the flop in the series but tbh, I think that was 6. Considering, Paul Rudd to play Tommy not Brian Andrew’s. On top of Daniel Harris wouldn’t return for the role of Jamie and was killed 15 minutes into the movie.
Always wanted to ask you how do you get a hold of these celebrities Like Don Shanks and other halloween stars? Is it tough getting a hold of them you gotta call them in advance
Sean represents most of these people. The walking dead, halloween, and a bunch more. Hes like a booking agent for these celebs. All of these conventions he gets them booked to appear at all of them.
@@davidk6158 What he said, LOL! Yes the thing at the end I had all of those guys there that I had booked into the convention and I just said hey do you guys wanna talk shit to me and put me down on camera and of course they were all game.
