When a movie makes you feel sorry for Michael Myers there's a problem

They made Michael supernatural in Kills and then nerfed him in Ends and it doesn't work. No one believes Michael is as weak as they try to make him out to be in Ends especially after the showdown in Kills. Corey's character was ripped from another movie (Christine by John Carpenter) but for some reason they shoehorned Corey into Halloween instead of just remaking Christine. They tried to make two movies into one instead of doing Halloween justice. Michael going into hiding for years reminds me of what Disney did to Luke Skywalker. This movie trilogy is just as disjointed as the Star Wars sequels and the fans were robbed. Halloween 2018 should have just been a standalone film because the sequels were cash grabs. This is what happens when Hollywood doesn't plan ahead.

Remember when Hawkins killed his partner and felt responsible for Michael still being alive? What ever happened to that? Cherry Blossoms must be a hell of a drug 😂

This movie is a complete failure. They spent 2 movies building up Laurie and Michael. Why in the hell would you wait until to the last film to introduce an entirely new storyline with a new main character? They didn’t explain how Michael can transfer is “evil essence” to people or why he gets strength from killing. Michael is supposedly a “normal man” in ends but in kills he gets beat by a mob of 20 people, shot a bunch of times, stabbed in the neck then just gets up……WHAT NORMAL MAN CAN DO THAT??? In the original 1978 film Donald Pleasence literally said Michael wasn’t a normal man why create this massive plot hole?

My favorite defense of the movie is "Guyssss why are fans being so negative wahh!! Be nice to this movie. I don't like how mean everyone is being towards Halloween Ends wahhh" There are always those Toxic Positive people who never want anything negative said about their special movies ever.

WHAT WE MOSTLY got from David Gordon Green Halloween reboot. 1. No legit good storyline for Michael Myers and legendary character Marion, Leigh,, Lonnie, Tommy, Lindsey, Dr. Loomis, Ben Tramer, Linda Little brother, Dr Wynn, Myers family. The ONLY thing we got was Jaime Lee Curtis was able to repeat and fulfill her H2O demand to Halloween producer “ Laurie gets to kill Michael Myers once and for all no if and or but”. JLC only came back to do H20 because of those demand and it looks like, she might had the same demands this time for David Green. Is this why the plot suck? Halloween fans who like this movie wake up and omit we got rip off for 5 years with this reboot.

The most ridiculous thing about this whole movie was that Allyson and Cory’s love romance was over the course of 4 Days. She was literally ready to leave town and disown her grandma for a dude she met 4 days earlier 😳

I watches it and this was the worst thing I watched.. Bumhouse did a bullshit job especially allowing the mask to be taken I mean all the years he was bad ass but this one makes him looking like a puppy dog when he went through so much he never died from anything he went through.. I do agree with you. I think Jamie Lee Curtis had more creative input than she will admit to with this movie. Based on interviews she's done for this trilogy I do believe she's a proponent of the #metoo movement which explains why we got the ending we got.

The one that I was laughing at with people defending this movie some people were saying Michael was weak because he's old I'm thinking what the f*** are you talking about he was old in the last movie too when he was still kicking people's ass he's not human age don't mean s*** cuz I told them well you could say the same thing about Freddy Krueger Jason Voorhees and when I try to use the old excuse I was like okay what's your excuse for Texas Chainsaw Massacre being an old man and he's human and he's still got superhuman strength going through people like crazy what's the excuse for that

They canceled out all the other movies in the franchise, only to bring them all back in this trilogy. The only movie that is close to fitting the Myers we know from 78, is H18.

A Memorial scene at the start of this film is an excellent idea. My biggest disappointment was that so many plot points carried over from ends were ignored

I didn't watch it all the way through but they heavily packaged it as Michael Myers vs Laurie but from what I understand that barely happens I don't want to see a love story for the first half of a halloween movie.

I've been a die hard Halloween fan since I watched the first Halloween on regular TV in 1984. I was 6 years old. I have followed the franchise extensively since. First Halloween movie I was able to see by myself in theaters was H6 in 1995 and have followed every single movie since. I play piano and can play the entire movie scores. End was effing trash. Absolute trash and I will not defend it in any way. Biggest let down in my adult life. Lmao

This movie is one of the worst in the series. There is nothing else to say, it's a steaming pile of s***. The fools that made it stated that they were making a deliberately divisive film and yet, they didn't have the balls to go through with their bait and switch. If they had ended this with Michael getting killed off and Corey becoming the new Boogeyman, I would have respected it more. Instead we get them abandoning their new plot line 3/4 the way through the movie for a lame geriatric fight that made Michael go out like a b****. Also, don't get me started on the giant list of continuity errors. This movie sucked.

Imo I feel like the particular Corey storyline could have worked if it was a whole other movie or of a TV series or something. Because i was kinda digging it. However if they actually introduced corey in 2018 then it would not be as bad. Just out of nowhere bringing him in the 3rd and final movie and making it about him pretty much was an odd choice. Especially considering how they marketed the movie. But how they treated Micheal was so disrespectful. James Jude Courtney deserved better.

You forgot to mention Nick castle's cringe-worthy cameo in this film! SEE SOMETHING YA LIKE! Was what he uttered to Allison and Corey at the so-called Halloween dance! That was so corny! They could have given him the role of the homeless man outside of the sewer who encountered Corey or he could have played Corey's father as some people were speculating before the movie had dropped! And If there was going to be a copycat killer, "WE" the audience should NOT have known about this until the final act of the film! As you pointed out this is not the movie that we wanted or deserved! Btw, I watched the movie Christine today and it's a shame how David Gordon green ripped off the entire concept of that movie! Why push Corey so hard and make him have a bromance with Michael until they break up and he wrestles Michael to the ground? Then kill him. Busta rhymes rant to Michael was the best thing to happen in that film. That scene alone made me see it a few times in theaters just to laugh my ass off everything. Like Jason x they were both terribly bad but insanely funny to watch! They need to make Lauire wake up in the hospital and reset this movie and do it right. Make their have some growth between her and Hawkins. Why does lauire go from Sara Conners to the Golden Girls after her own family was killed! I agree with a lot, I like how they snuck in that Lil seed for a possible future movie, because Cory-while still having Michael's evil essence in him, had bedroom fun with Alison, who can now get pregnant, an have a new little Myers's like character, or maybe twins, an he/she, will probably be drawn to the mask that will be sitting at grandmas house, so that is a cool Lil possible thing, but just about everything else was PO PO, they spent 90 percent of the movie, setting up this new shape with cory, an I was there for some of it, other parts I hated, like the scene where corys yells at Michael an tells his ich self to get up an do as he says, then Michael hobbles over all pathetically, then he gets a swipe in, then Cory falls, looks up at Michael weirdly erotic while still holding the dude, then Michael gets a 2nd wind an goes in, then he jizzes himself I think, it looked like it with all that weird twitching,,,,i couldn't believe it, even worse was when Cory goes in to get the mask, it reminded me of a young punk going in to take the car keys from an old parent, an they say-- seyah, im going out to party!! an the parent tries to feebly hold them back, same thing here basically, only Cory lays the smack down on Michael an embarrass all of us even more, but I'm like ok, if you gotta do it, go all the way, you choose this route an have messed everything up, so make it interesting, an what do they do, at 90 percent of the movie... they crumple up everything that came before, and they tossed it in the trash, they tossed it in the freaking trash! then they shot the trash can into the sun,,,,,because everything that came before, the whole movie we just watched, is utterly pointless, none of it matters anymore, an it definitely hurts rewatches, because they rode the fence, they should have went all the way, but it's like they got scared an back tracked, or they completely forgot they were supposed to be making a Halloween movie, an on the final day of filming they said- oh crap!!, we only got 4 hour's left, an we have no ending to this Halloween movie, you know the whole Laurie vs Michael thing, an they said,,,,,,oh yeah, shot i completely forgot, just give them anything, who cares what they want, I want to tell my story of the bad boy Cory an the broken chick Alison falling in love, basically kristine, who cares about Michael anyway,,, so they gave us (5 ish) lack luster mins of what we actually wanted an came for,,, I originally thought they filmed karens end, in kills weird the way they did, because they wanted to trick us, i thought what they were gonna do was use karen as the copy cat, it makes way more sense, and this idea is no crazier then Michael staring into people's eyes to spread his pure evil!! essence, I thought the radio tower they showed an kind of hinted at in kills, also in ends, was going to play a role, like Michael would use the signal an maybe the mask, to make Karen into something like him, it didn't have to be over explained she would still be alive, but weak, an I thought she would heal up, an then she would help heal Michael up someway, sort of like Cory did in what we got, after that crazy fight he had at the end of kills, it only made sense, and they could have kept it on the same night, so the timeline wouldn't have had to skip 4 years, because we know Laurie would have never ever let what Michael did go anyway, so I don't buy she just moved on all happy an crap, imagine the emotional turmoil an anguish of Laurie having to stop who use to be her daughter, and Alison having to stop what use to be her mom,, who would basically be just like Michael, maybe she could have covered her face with something new, there is so much they could have done with that, so much, like would they have it in them to stop her, would they try to capture her, all while Michael is still the main threat that would be hidden but only for a bit while he gets super strong, it would have took way less time to set up, witch means more Myers's, more kills, etc. plus the end fight could have lasted 15 mins at least,

I loved this film. Maybe it's because I'm just a casual Halloween fan, or maybe I'm just happy to see something different. I didn't want to like it due to all the reviews a read but, I ended up loving it.

I hated that Luke was made into a total pussy and Rey shows up and just beats him up and takes his mask. Then the whole thing is about some love story crap instead of the action we were promised..none of the characters act like themselves, finally at the end our hero just dies in anticlimactic fashion because the studio forgot he was all we cared about. Lmao 😂. I’m hollering at this review because it’s true especially Savannah, GA. I gave it a chance and I’ll say it’s a 5 out of 10 Halloween, I watched it on peacock. I need the thorn trilogy timeline back again because that’s the only timeline I loved that I still watch until this day even when October isn’t here. I hated H20 because it was cheaply made and Michael mask was ridiculous also enhanced by CGI but fans say H20 was better than H4,H5, H6 LOL ! It’s crazy I see these Halloween fans disown the thorn trilogy saying it’s “garbage, trash, and didn’t make sense” when that was Micheal at his best powerful, prime, and just his best. I’ve seen fans say the siblings scenario was horrible but that’s not true. I loved the family connection, the suspense, real horror, and Donald Pleasance presence killing it on those movies. I enjoyed this trilogy but it is the worst one that’s just me. I would’ve been happy if they would’ve ended it with Halloween 18’ tbh. Cringest Moments in Halloween Ends: 1.) Jamie Lee Curtis when she was at the table carving pumpkins and said something about her tits then gave the middle finger I think. Then slammed the pumpkin guts on the table. The dialogue was absolute horribly made. I miss Donald Pleasance emotional yelling, story telling, and real acting 🎭. 2.) The sheriff legs who got ran over and JLC at the local grocery shop, also the ending with them in the porch. He was supposed to fight Micheal? But was just weird in this movie. 3.) Corey wrestling the goat Michael Myers but couldn’t fight young children under the age of 18 4.) JLC removing michaels mask then pushing a refrigerator on top of him while plunging 2 knives in his hand I want them to get rid of Laurie Strode character please don’t bring her character back. I’m tired of seeing her when her character been died in 2002 in Resurrection also in H4-H5 she was pronounced dead after abandoning Jamie Lloyd. Then this trilogy reset the timeline like Michael randomly targeted them without a motive it made it so bad but then they cherry picked from each Halloween movie prior to DGG version. It’s obvious. We KNOW Michael and Laurie are siblings us original real fans but there’s weird fans who tries to erase that once again. Jamie Lloyd is his/was his niece as well and she left a new born son after H6 which meant that would’ve been Michael “great nephew”. This need to be a do over without JLC, DGG, and Blumhouse touching it again.

i honestly enjoyed 2018 and kills alot, far from perfect but looking past the flaws they were super entertaining and the story somewhat made sense and was consistent. throw that all out the window here it is impossible to look past the many glaring flaws in this one lol i almost wish i didnt watch it, did absolutely nothing for me and any story that was building in the last two got put through that crushing machine with michael

This movie was putrid. This and Resurrection is the lowest of the franchise. Total disrespect to Michael Myers. Kills they establish him as an unstoppable Terminator that can't be defeated by brute force. Ends they weaken him by 90% so he can be manhandled and killed very easily. That's plot armor for you. Same shit they did for H20 and Resurrection was weaken Michael so Laurie could Activia his ass and so Busta Rhymes could do Kung fu on his ass and tell him to go away and stop messing shit up. This movie along with those are a joke and disrespect Michael Myers and his legacy. True Halloween fans know that H4, H6 and H Kills Michael Myers would kill Laurie and Busta Rhymes savagely in seconds. Busta would try to throw a kick at Michael and he would just tank it and not even move. Busta's second kick would be grabbed my Michael breaking Busta's leg right off. Then Michael would crush his head as he did with Brady in H4. H Kills Michael instead of throwing Laurie around like he did in 2018 because of bad plot armor, instead would smash her head into a wall crushing it or he would just gouge her eyes out like he did with Big John. Or even better yet he would just lift her off the ground with one arm and impale her into the wall.

It sucks how with any movie/franchise/adaptation/sequel/prequel etc these days it seems like a requirement to go in anticipating and/or expecting disappointment and a trash production rather then being caught off guard by a bad production occasionally. I understand this is a subjective opinion given we all view movies a little differently, but I honestly cant remember the last time I saw a modern/new release and loved what I watched. (edit - rough benchmark off the top of my head would probably be Chris Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. had some flaws but not even close to enough to outweigh the things I love about that trilogy.) (no disrespect to first time or casual viewers) I envy how casual viewers can more often enjoy a franchise movie like this because they don't have the love and emotional investment in the story or characters as the OG Fanboys/girls, the Lore nerds and every other distinction of pop culture lovers that more than anything want to see a satisfying well written and acted movie that does justice to the long legacy from which it has come (Halloween, Elm St, Predator, Terminator, scream, Jurassic Park/World etc etc R.I.P.☠🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦👻.) Based on his dialogue with Allison, to me, it seems that MM and Laurie both recognized that Corey had that same energy already in him. There's another line later where Laurie is talking to Corey saying there's two kinds of evil. It was some bs speech like most of Kills but they could've said those who are born evil like MM and those who become evil, take on that shape. They had four writers and dropped the ball.

1) false advertising 2) centered the movie around someone we don't know or care about 3) put the primary protagonist and antagonist of the series in minor roles 4) made the primary antagonist a pansy after they established him as being nearly invincible. 5) made the protagonists granddaughter into a sex crazed idiot Absolute garbage. And this is coming from someone who ranks 2018 as the second best in the franchise

I loved the first 2 entries in this trilogy for very differeng reasons but "Ends" seemed like it was ashamed of being a Halloween movie. But they wanted that baked-in fanbase to buy tickets to see their indie romance movie.

If you missed it, WWAM have it a 7.5/10. I unsubscribed to them after they were brown nosing the actors and the writer, and even the writer they had on their podcast, they said he was a writing genius and everyone should want him to write for them... I was thinking, he and JLC ruined Halloween forever for all fans! For them to promote this film in a traditional manner was a sleep in the face to the fans of the franchise! I have 2018 and Kills on Blu-ray, and as soon as I get home, I'm burning them so I don't have to accidentally watch them ever again! I'll stick with the original series and Rob Zombie's versions!

Hell yeah! This trilogy sucks, and was so unnecesary and pretencious. People must stop trying to defend the horrible Halloween ends, it was a pathetic ending for a 40 years legacy.

Very few shills are coming out defending this shit show. The overwhelmingly majority of fans have classified this film as trash.
