I think this is probably the closest Laurie and Michael have been to equals in a fight. Laurie uses everything she’s learned from her encounters with Michael. Laurie knows she can’t overpower Michael physically so she tries various means to outmaneuver him. Even in the heat of the moment she thinks to pull off his mask since she knows Michael will let her go to keep her from pulling it off just like their first encounter in 1978
@@christianalexander579 yeh before that Michael was beating the shit out of her like he tossing her around like a rag doll. If he didn’t stop to pull back down his mask then she would’ve been dead.
People hated this movie and I didn’t love it…but this is one of those rare movies where, to me, one scene can make up for a lot of the problems. This is the greatest fight in any Halloween movie and the last 20 min of this movie we’re perfect.
I agree! It had a different element compared to the Halloween movie fight from 2018. Felt more like that finale fight like let’s just get this over with but they did it well in my opinion!
I love this fight it really feels like a final confrontation plus this movie is actually a amazing wonderful film because it's take a different approach and yeah I understand with the promos and all when I first watched it I hated it but then after learning there was more enough story what it was trying to tell I loved it Michael actually getting weaker kind of makes sense plus Laurie was literally her best here with Corey being a good character while understanding what happened you feel for him I don't love it as much as my favorite Halloween 1978,2,2018 and kills but still a fitting end to the best timeline:)
I was so scared watching this scene that Laurie would die. Which, if she had to die, being strangled by Michael after she kicks his ass is the way to go out.
@@brandzino He definitely was destroying her in the first half, but once she pinned him to the counter she was kicking ass imo. She hops on top of him and stabs him and then pins his other hand and throws the fridge down and stabs him in the armpit and slits his throat
@@thatfishguy4991 yeh Laurie could’ve died at numerous points like when Michael had her by the hair or had his foot on her throat and if she hadn’t grab at his mask to make Michael stop to pull it back over his face when he was shoving the knitting needle in her temple then she would’ve been done for.
@@petethelman957 this is why I don’t get why people hate this fight. They’re like “an old grandma killed Michael Myers” as if Laurie just killed him with barely any struggle at all. When in reality, he did more to Laurie in this fight than he did in 2018’s fight.
Hmm for Laurie but Michael Myers will never die. He will live on for many years in our hearts since 78 and will be for many more and He will come back #LongLiveMichaelMyers
This scene was really scaring the living daylights out of me. It was so silent and Michaels loud and and intense breathing made it sound like predator searching for his prey. It felt like I was trapped in that closed space with Laurie before the fight began. Michael was indeed more powerful than Laurie, but Laurie had to use the environment as her advantage. The part where Laurie almost losing her finger is Michael trying to return the favor for blowing his fingers off. Also the clothing pin moment, Michael was like “mot this time” he definitely hadn’t forgotten. There’s this one time when he grabbed her neck, the thought that ran in my head was “why that son of a bitch just die!” Michael became one of my favorites because even at his dying breath he would kill Laurie. Gotta love the small Friday 13th reference where Jason’s hand got cut in half.
I didn't like this movie too much because of how they weaken Michael Myers character but the fight scene was awesome but Halloween 2018 fight scene with Michael and Laurie was better.
Wasn't long enough was it? ...not for a 44yr build up. And Michael should not have died. He has no equal. He is the only character is the Halloween franchise that matters. He should have survived and gone on, back into local legend status. (Thank you for uploading the video though).
Literally, the whole point of the trilogy was to wrap up the story between Michael and Laurie! How it's essentially to let the Legend of Michael Meyers die because of his presence alone. So having him survive in the end would have made no sense.
...he doesn't die at the end of the original Halloween though does he? And this ending and sense he is out there is what made and makes these movies iconic.
@@douggherkin That's copying Jason and frankly the idea of someone being able to take on stuff that should have killed them only to get up and get you is unsettling. Even that first movie showed he had limits. Besides, him gone is meant to say evil does not die, not him. He's never characterized for a reason.
This fight was cool, but Michael went out like a punk. If I was the director, I would’ve made Laurie fight Corey unprepared and when Michael shows up a few minutes later she sets up 1 or 2 small traps and then fights him.
I remember being on the edge of my seat in the cinemas with my hands on my head jaw had dropped when it was showing you the flash backs. I thought laurie was gone then I seen Alyson i said to myself .. “yesss” 😅😅 Shit film, last 20 mins was good, sad ending.
I can respect that people may not like this movie, after all it is NOT what any of us wanted or expected after 2018 and kills. However... I cant help but love it, and just like H3, I feel this will find its fans with age.
For those who are not a huge fan of how the film turned out I would definitely recommend that you read the book on Halloween ends definitely far better than the movie by far. You get more Michael Myers more kills to his name and slightly different ending especially with Laurie and Hawkins
Really, we've seen it enough for the first time. It's bad enough that they are going to be putting this in DVD and Blu-Ray format. We already suffered through this highly debatable matchup already from my prospective. That's why I'm going nowhere near the DGG Halloween trilogy. He knows absolutely nothing about Michael Myers.
This 3 minute fight scene should have been in the 2018 with Michael still getting up after being stabbed in the heart, ripping his hands open from the knives and pushing the fridge off him and then finally burnt to death in the basement proving there is some weird evil power that does drive Michael what gives him that creepy edge, it didn't need those 2 rubbish sequels but then again....they've got to milk that ca$h cow.
tbh if we wanted too have another halloween movie we might have to settle the fuck down & wait for the next what 4 - 5 years? just my guessing, since mikey died he's probably gonna come back & I'm kinda wanted an direct sequel from ends but yeah dunno how too do that but we've gotta settle down the h40 timeline for an couple of years but yeah i loved this "final" movie idc what people say i loved it.
@@squishyman0829 they fought for 60 seconds in 2018 before Laurie went out a window... The rest was her prowling the house with a gun and no Michael. Here we get 4 minutes of Myers on Strode action.
@@halloweenclipsandsoundtracks that just poses another problem. Why I say the nerfing is a problem is because the way kills ended. Michael was supposed to be overpowered as fuck in this next film. That would have been alot of tension and making you wonder how the townspeople would take him down. That would have been a much more compelling story. But we got old fragile Michael instead. Which goes against the whole Boogeyman thing.
@@lazarus9638 I dont think he was meant to be overpowered in this movie that was for kills, but I feel like his power levels are really inconsistent throughout the film.
@@halloweenclipsandsoundtracks if we go off how Halloween kills ended. Michael was said to transcend everytime he killed someone. So yeah he was supposed to be at his strongest in this film. But I guess it was forgotten about. Laurie was supposed to go after him too one last time.
As weak as Michael was,he threw her around pretty good. He put up a awesome fight. This scene and nurse Deb was best scene. If they wanted a copycat theme they should have Killed Michael of first then bring in Cory it would make better sense. And Cory should have used his scarecrow mask instead of Myer's so he could be his own.
This movie needed to end this way. It was time for good to defeat evil. It was time for Laurie to get her revenge and her closure and for Michael to face his retribution for his crimes.
1st of all The Mob did defeat Michael. Since the intent was for Michael to get killed by Laurie in Halloween Ends. The Mob couldn't finish Michael off, while Michael was laid out on ground, from the beating he took from that Mob.
@@franciscoaguilar2597 Ikr? And they say “oh they should fight earlier” like Michael has no desire to finish off Laurie, he only attacked her because she was there. He only was at Laurie’s house because Corey was there
