Halloween Has Changed - Have Y'all Noticed? 

I think a big part of it is no one knows their neighbors anymore. When I was a kid in the late nineties, my parents knew all our neighbors. The dads went out with the kids trick or treating, and the moms stayed home and passed out candy. We went around the neighborhood and came home and traded our loot with our friends (my friend loved Tootsie Rolls and I love Reese’s) and it was great! Now, no one knows their neighbors and neighborhoods aren’t made up of families with children anymore.

We have not seen one single trick or treater in 20 years. We used to give out loads of candy. Everyone takes their kids to trunk or treat at the churches instead. So sad.

I remember Halloween really changing after 9/11. A lot of people stopped letting their children trick-or-treat. I also remember some people saying ignorant things like, “If an Arab comes to the door, my kid isn’t taking their candy.” Some said they were keeping their kids at home because they thought terrorists might harm their children.

People spend more on Halloween vs. the 70s. More decorations, etc. But the TrTrs might be a safety factor issue. I see more parents accompanying the kids now.

Halloween has changed in many ways now you have adult Halloween parties where everybody dresses up in a " Sexy " costume eg: Nurses , Kitty Kats , etc. in my area the foot traffic has decreased somewhat but I still give out bag loads of candy 🍬 🍬 150- 200 trick or treaters compared to 250 - 300 a few years back . And there is a darker element that has creeped into Halloween it's the ones who are into rituals and seance parties . There was a group of self proclaimed witches and Warlocks who were painting Pentagrams on the park grass and burning stuff and they poured Red dye into a large three tiered fountain in the park so it would look like blood 🤔 Yep Halloween has definitely changed in many ways 👺🎃🎃👻👻☠☠👽👽🤖🤖😈😈
