That shot of him walking in the street after bumping into the cowboy kid, and the hotub scene is peak. The first one is my fav but this one definitely amped up everything the first had, which makes it my tenth favorite horror movie
@@FARTGUN3000These people must've been dumb that they didn't even know that Michael is the one who killed one of his victims. And most of all, how did they not see that he was just there on 5 feet of him??
That shot of him emerging on the B&W CCTV footage and just casually walking on the grounds with the music from Night of the Living Dead playing in the background is super creepy.
John Carpenter and Alan Howarth scored Halloween II. They collaborated musically in many movies of Carpenter. They are the old pals. Halloween II is just a one of their film scores.
5:37 this is my personal favorite shot of Michael Myers in Halloween II. While the shot of his eyes bleeding is iconic, this shot shows us how intimidating and terrifying he really is.

Probably like, grease, blood and copper lol. Dude has been spreading his blood all over Haddonfield after getting shot and it seems like a lot of the blood is coming from his right hand.
Fun fact: in real life, the hospital (used in the movie) is over 60 miles from the Myers house. At the speed Michael walks, he wouldn’t have made it to the hospital for at least a week 😂
I’m sure in real life but in the movie it wasn’t far. Cause Laurie would of had a long ride to the ER. But if so even in the movie? She spent a long time in that ambulance and Mike had a super long walk since they didn’t show him snatch a car like part 1 lol. Maybe he went back and took Annie’s or Bobs car?…
5:29 This is why I love Halloween 2 so much. The music in this scene is very eerie to me. From the quiet drums in the background, to the synthesizer tones. It’s so mysterious. As if we’re in a completely different world (Aka Haddonfield hospital lmao) Idk it’s a weird explanation but that’s how I feel.
That only happened because of reshoots with Carpenter who added the kill to spice things up and compete with current slasher flicks of the time. It was frankly unnecessary and I'm glad it's not in the TV Cut.
Michael Myers has a type, he likes targeting young girls, usually babysitters. He was after Laurie in the first movie, but he still went after Annie and Lynda as well.
0:10 Michael's like, "Crap, I'm Outta Here" 4:23 Michael's Reaction "Girl, You're Gonna Get It" 6:17 Michael's Like, "LAURIE, WHERE ARE YOU STOP PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK WITH ME"
My favorite kills are the hot tub one and the one with the needle to the girls head! I love the scene of him stabbing the pillows then walking out emotionless just shows how inhuman he is! That mask is perfection and creepy!
Wouldn’t say fully emotionless, if anything, to me at least, I feel like this is the point where Myers starts to get pissed and turn up the heat another notch which sets up the chase scene really nicely.
Despite Dick Warlock being the shortest of them all. But he is by far the creepiest of all them all. Movement and action creates a character, not the height of the character.
It’s funny because Nick Castle had more movement as the character, like he was precise but fluid, Dick Warlock plays him stiff and non moving. Personally for me it’s the arms locked at the sides that set the creepier, more robotic tone Myers had in this film. It’s also scarier to remember that Myers is only 21 in the context of the film, he is just over the line of kid to adult. That’s pretty terrifying to think about.
@@gameroftheyear1000 Yeah. I remember Dick Warlock was being critiqued for being stiff. But to me the stiffness just made him more "non-human" if that makes sense, since he is posessed by a demon and is deemed 'no longer human'. Like a cybernetic organism that came back from the future, to hunt down the strode family one-by-one, to make sure the Strode family bloodline is no more. Oh wait, that plot sounded alot like The Terminator. Now that I think about it.
H2 Michael isn’t going to be moving around as fluidly as in H1 after getting 6 shots unloaded on him and falling on his back from a balcony. That is the reason for his stiff movement.
Agreed, but Carpenter himself hates this movie and the whole sibling angle and was more than happy to help DGG jettison it completely from the new trilogy timeline. Halloween has at least 3 timelines now excluding the RZ films which is just nuts. We'll likely get a new 4th timeline in a few years or so, especially since Ends has been doing badly.
Ikr😂 she was just nasty frl from the jump for even putting his hand in her mouth😮😂 but yeah i definitely would have noticed the odor from him behind her and also that unwashed hairy hand😬😳
I feel like this movie would have been better received at the time of its theatrical release if it wasn't the immediate followup to Halloween (1978), which set the bar incredibly high for the horror genre. It's gotten a lot more love over the years, and while this isn't my favorite Halloween sequel of the bunch (mine is H-40), I can see why so many people have it as theirs.
I get what you mean. I like how it builds some lore for Michael and possible explanations. I think that's why this movie works so well, by providing some answers to the mystery of Michael Myers while still being an ominous movie.
@@JarlofTamriel agreed. One of the reasons why Michael Myers is among my personal favorite villains is the same as why I adore Darth Vader & Scar. The biological relation to the protagonist makes the story fascinating and adds layers to the roles the characters play.
The original 1978, Halloween II, Halloween 2018, and Halloween Kills are the best. Halloween 4 had some decent parts and a creepy opening but it's where the sequels starting falling off... H20 was also somewhat decent, but the rest sucked. And then, there's Season of the Witch lol. On its own, a decent little horror movie no better or worse than half the crap out there. It was far better than Halloween Ends lol...
A lot of people just thought it needed to be fleshed out more. The studio thought the mainstream audience wanted to see blood and guts after F13 made it popular. Which is what F13 proved to be good at. Halloween 1978 proved to be at making a genuinely well written, like Black Christmas 1974(which Carpenter was a huge fan of that movie and it shows in H1), it’s a psychological thriller. It shows next to nothing in terms of gore, to the point where you let your imagination fill in the blanks and it taps into real psychological fears. I’ve never consider H1 a slasher movie. H2 has all of the potential to be as great as the first movie, especially since most of the original crew worked on the film. But a mix of many who saw no point in making the movie and a demanding studio going in on gore and blood over substance in the script, killed any chance that H2 had at becoming a legendary like its big brother. It sucks too because I’m a massive fan of this movie, but every time I watch it, I always think of how much better it could of been with the slow and tension building of the original movie.
Dr. Loomis discovers a drawing at the elementary school. Myers would have turned 21 in 1978. Unless this drawling was miraculously found after years gone by, we assume he recently drew it, which looks like the work of a disturbed young boy
@@opticalmixing23 Yes. But in Myers mind he's still that little kid who killed his sister. He went through most of his life including adulthood without saying a word. He only knows what he was taught up until he was six years old. For him there was no transition from child to adult.
This is the true sequel to Halloween 1978. I could care less for the modern sequels that change up the timeline , if I’m being completely honest. This movie alone adds more character to what Halloween created and it’s just overall a better continuation of what happened on that fateful night in 1978.
For me, I would start the timeline with 1978, then 2018, and end it with Kills. I would include Ends, but because of Corey Cunningham and how weak Michael was before Laurie killed him, I'll just leave Ends out of it.
Honestly, for a sequel to the 1978, Halloween I think this one is 10 times more creepy and doesn’t have the trend of the grey hair actors in the modern sequels
Michael Deff knows how to blend in the dark were nobody sees him with that mask real good I think that’s one thing he uses real good to his advantage he can be in a dark house at night and the person or people who live there would never knowtice him until to late
Wait, is the pillows now Michael’s new victim or something?😂 5:42- That scene was hilarious 😂 Then when he looked and saw only a bed this was Michael: Oh Shit! 5:49
4:54 the b@w security camera along with the creepy eerie music makes this scene even more creepy like seriously imagine seeing that live if u were sitting down in a security room alone waiting for the security guard to return not knowing micheal has already killed him
Someone said this in another Halloween II video, but I think it's accurate. Rewatching these kills now, I think you can tell the writers were heavily influenced by Friday the 13th, and tried to emulate their more gruesome and gory style.
I believe it fits for Halloween II though. I try and imagine this movie as is without the blood gore and it doesn't work for me. Myers draining that head nurse's blood out was i bit much though. How did Myers learn to do that.. Dr. Myers lol
@@TboneTenEighties Just like he went from age 6 to 17 and been in an institution that whole time to escape in part 1 and know how to drive a station wagon lol.
@@assassinmanx6128 What's the big deal? I drove perfectly fine on my first try when i was a young teen.. Some people are simply naturals..and besides maybe Michael studied people when they drove (transported) him somewhere from time to time. I'm sure he was in a vehicle at some point. You need to have a little imagination when watching made up horror you know.. It goes with the territory.
@@TboneTenEighties I was being funny like you saying how did he learn how to draw blood. So I was referring to him driving. Well if he studied driving skills I’m sure they draw blood in mental institutions. So he learned how to do that there as well.
@@assassinmanx6128 lol I hear you. But he didnt just draw blood as dr's or nurses normally do. He hooked up some kind of contraption that had a lil tube drained / leaked out all of the nurses blood. It was more of a transfusion type of set up. Don't think he's ever seen that enough to be studied...and or executed correctly.
Jason est un tank Myers aussi mais jason est bien plus vif est conscient de ce qu’il fait il est plus imposant plus grand il a des réflexe et il bouge comme un humain normal Myers lui ne chercherait même as a esquiver les coups de jason
Goof: In part l, Loomis fires 6 shots, but in part ll, he fires 7 shots knocking Myers to the ground. Did Loomis reload? Did he have two guns? We will never know. Enigma. Then he says he him 6 times
He actually does have two guns. He gives the other to Laurie towards the end of the movie, which is how she shoots out Michael's vision. As to the beginning of Halloween 2, it is a inconsistency, but I think by cutting out the original ending and replacing it with this reshot, it's safe to assume it was suppose to be retconned. Also you could say the first shot toward Michael was from his first gun then he swapped guns either because one has more rounds or better damage and he used this specific gun on Michael and probably always planned to.
For one thing it was nearly pitch black where Myers was standing. And by this time after all Myers went through throughout that night the mask was far from pristine at that point. Besides..she never looked in his direction.
