Imagine if the writers on the next Halloween movie said “Fuck it, we’re running out of ideas guys! Let’s just emmmmm… take Michael and Laurie into some hellish dimension but also there’s time travel added in to the mix! And then later on they get tossed into space where Michael turns into a cyborg and Laurie Strode has to fight him off… without a helmet!” 🙃

I am seriously excited for this one, just like I was for the 2018 Halloween. Not saying it's going to be great, but wow... this trailer isn't pulling punches and I'll admit that I'm a bit hyped. Looks super violent and places Michael Myers in the position of being a bad ass slasher that he's not really been in ANY of the previous films. Strong vibes of the original Halloween 2 (the hospital scenes and all and taking place on the same night), but let's do it. Vigilante mobs. Tommy Doyle. Not sure what "transcends" means exactly in this context... Are we making him supernatural now? This does fall in line with only the first movie as canon so, we never really got to the Halloween 5/6 Thorn cult BS... I only wish they didn't show the mask scene in the trailer; I'd rather just be surprised that he was unmasked and how it plays out. For a first look, not disappointed at all. Let's see how it turns out... They've had plenty of time to edit and re-shoot as it was originally due out last year.
Yeah, I’m hyped to! But I want to go in with a reasonable expectations this time because last time I was really hyped from the trailer and ended up being disappointed for the most part. I only wish they didn’t show too much in the trailer. I feel like they showed a lot so I will not be watching the next trailer if they release one lol
i am hyped too, but I have to disagree with that. There are plenty of horror films that have amazing performances. Horror is basically just drama that scares you. Films like hereditary, or the conjuring have great performances. Or a series like the haunting of hill house have amazing dramatic performances that elevate the material. Good performances elevate the film regardless of genre. There’s definitely space for more schlocky horror films, but I don’t think this new Halloween series should be that. I think it should take itself seriously because it has the potential to be something more than a Corman-esque B-movie horror film.
