I love them all! I am new to soldering, and so excited I found you. I am going to have to try this. I never thought about the soldering the wire decorations. Thank you!!!
They are all beautiful! I myself am drawn to the shiny one too. 😊🤍Thank you kindly for showing us your tips & tricks also. I truly admire your tenacity, it's inspiring! I'm excited to see your next creation. It's good to have you back!!! Take care & would love to see Missy on another hunting excursion lol. Byeeee 💜🌺🤍
Thank you kindly! You’re very kind! These were fun & are being well received, I might have to make more as I’ve already sold 2!!! I’ll be sure to do a quick clip of Missy just for You! 🙏😊🎃
I love them all but i think the large one with the stamp detail in the back is my favorite 😍 I'm glad you're feeling better after your dentist appointment ❤❤❤ I'm terrified of the dentist too xxx
Thank you kindly! People are loving these pumpkins, who knew? I’ve already sold 2 so I might have to make some more as these were earmarked for the local shops! Your favorite pumpkin was the 1st to go! Thx about the dentist…I’m so happy with this new Dr! I’ve currently got ALL female professionals on my health team & I’m grateful! 🙏😊🎃🧡
You have helped me so much!!! Idk why I never thought of a towel! Thank you!!!! I may keep mine damp so I don’t scare myself 😆 I’m so excited to solder today! Thanks for sharing your work with RU-vid ❤
Glad I could help! Keeping your washcloth damp is a good idea too! Using the washcloth to hold my pieces was a game changer for me! Thx for your interest & support! 🙏😊💖
Thank you so much for your interest & feedback! I too favor the bright & shiny but Man so many people absolutely love the patina look! I appreciate you subscribing to my channel & if you know anyone else who might enjoy learning or just watching please share & ask them to subscribe as I’m hoping to reach RU-vid’s GOLDEN 1000 subscriber number! Thanks again for your support! 🙏😊🎃
@@karensintuitivejewelry Oh, thank you for sharing your knowledge and talents!👍😊 Lol, I just found your channel, and I've been binge watching. Loving it!💖
Karen-these are my favorite Halloween projects!!! They are so flipping cute!!! Of course, the bright silver is my favorite…I agree with you that some of the details are lost with the patina… the stones don’t look as vibrant with the patina either… but the designs themselves are so cute!!! 🧡🧡🧡 Glad your dentist appt went well!!! Can’t wait to see what you do next!!! Love & hugs
Thx so very much my friend! I’ve already sold 2 of the pumpkins with the patina so there you have it, right? People love the antique look! I’m probably going to make more since they’ve been so popular! I was making them for my local shops & now I only have 2 to take! 🤣🤣🤣 I’m not really complaining!
@@karensintuitivejewelry Wow, that is great!! I’m just going to have to agree to disagree with those patina loving people🤪🤪🤪 They are definitely adorns!!!🧡🧡🧡. No problem making more when they are selling so good… since they are pumpkins and not jack-o-lanterns- they would be popular/appropriate all of Fall up to Thanksgiving really!!! I think you better get the pumpkin pendant factory going my friend😉 Love & Hugs
Well I am confused because I'm a patina girl all the way and I voted for patina but at the end I liked the shiny best, it was so bright compared to the others and you do see the tendrils better. So now I leave this a bit confused lol but all are just such fun pieces to enjoy🎉
Hi Karen I like the shiny without the patina.. But all 4 where really beautiful. You are truly a artists.. I will try to make it let you know how I did.. I did try the witches hat. Yours looked so much better then mine. I think I went to big..
Thank you very much! You’re so kind & encouraging! I appreciate you! Yes, let me know how yours turn out! The hats are definitely the hardest of the projects & I agree with the size portions! Keep at it! 🙏😊🎃🧡
I love your work- I also have a dentist phobia due to a dentist in my past verbally abusing me as he was pulling my tooth- my tooth was really hard to get out and he wasn’t happy about it
Thank you so much for your interest & support! For soft soldering projects you intend to patina you will use Novacan black patina for soft solder. If you intend on using copper or sterling silver projects you need a different solution to achieve the aged look such as Liver of Sulfur. Any metal that has a coating will not accept a patina of any kind. I hope this helps! 🙏😊💜
I love all of them, did you patina with a small paint brush & how did you get it off the wires, i find that when i put jewellery elements on my suncatchers that are just charms, trying to keep them from getting patina on then isnt always easy, can you film the whole process of the pumpkin necklace patina cleaning it & polishing it Thankyou i love yr work just awesome 😊❤
Thank you kindly! I appreciate your interest & support! In the attached tutorial you can see the exact process that I used in the pumpkin tutorial! It’s a delicate balance trying to avoid getting the patina on areas that you don’t want it but it’s doable using very small amounts on a Q-tip & then buffing off what you want to return to a high shine! Care must be taken not to buff too much to avoid taking any coating off your wire or charm attachments! Another technique I’ll sometimes use is applying acrylic paint or black nail polish to the recessed areas instead of the black patina solution & then clean-up with acetone polish remover! You must also be mindful of the fact that the acetone could damage your gemstones! I hope this helps! 🙏😊💜 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lCHxiK1sGLU.htmlsi=86p0qSyXJhD-2vMH
❤. I really loved how these turned out. Love love love!!! I wish we could have seen how you curled and attached the tendrils. You briefly mentioned it just after the 27 min mark but im curious as to how you attached them and how you keep them from snagging and bending. Keep up the brilliant work 😁
Thank you kindly! I attached these tendrils at the top while they’re still straight in the exact same manner as all the other wire & at the end of the project just take your round nose pliers & turn the wire into little spirals stretching to create an elongated spiral!
If you cut slits in the foil previous to wrapping the “stone” or before pressing the foil down, it is much easier to get a good result. A rule is that the more curved, the more slits.
Hi Karen, I just love your pumpkins, I've been watching alot of your videos. I make cabachons and have accumulated many. Do you have an email I can contact you at? I wanted to run some ideas by you, and get your thoughts. Thank you.
Thx so much. That’s awesome that you have lapidary skills! I appreciate your interest & support! The best way to contact me is through Instant Messenger. Are you on Facebook or Instagram?
Hi Karen I was going To ask because soft solder is relatively new to me, you patina the necklaces which could touch skin, would you patina rings as well, patina is poison Thankyou for sharing i love these pendants my favourite ❤
Thank you for your interest & support! Although the patina solutions are toxic in their liquid form & should be used with precautions; once applied, washed & dried the item is safe to wear unless the individual has a propensity to allergic reactions. You can also apply sealants but individuals can also be sensitive to sealants! Patinas are generally viewed as “safe” in various jewelry making techniques! Patina is a naturally occurring chemical reaction to the metals exposure to the environment & chemicals such as humans pH, perfumes, soap, etc. Patina applications are just a way to speed up the natural process! The majority of individuals do fine with patina jewelry! I hope this information was helpful!
@karensintuitivejewelry Thankyou so much for yr reply & I'm sure yr answer not only helped me but many others who might be wondering the same thing I love all yr jewelry you do such a fine job ❤
Thx! I just saw a video about that green foam but it has to be the Wet kind which was a little more expensive so I’ll have to wait in that! I appreciate your feedback & support! 🙏😊💖
Hi! Just have one problem... What solder do you use? I'm looking for a lead free solder for jewelry but I can only find electrical solder. Is this the same? It seems to have a higher melting point. I'm in Ireland. Thank you!
Here’s a link to a company in Ireland I believe that you can purchase through Amazon as well! It’s not electrical solder but considered what is used in stain glass, plumbing, crafts, etc. Essmetuin Lead Free Solder Wire(Sn99.3Cu0.7) For Plumbing Solder/Stained Glass/Crafts/Jewelry 217℃ Melting Point 2.0MM No Flux,ROHS (3.2oz) a.co/d/ayY3CKL Also if you’re on Facebook you might want to consider joining the group called Tiffany Method Soft Solder Jewelry Group…it’s free & they’re members from around the world that can answer specific questions from your country! I hope this helps!
Hello, I am new to this art and I wanted to ask you for some recommendations on how to seal my pieces, so that the tin is not in direct contact with the skin (it irritated my skin a little hehe) thnx for your videos
There are several different products used for sealing of pieces but all are considered temporary & will need to be reapplied from time to time. The sealants themselves could also be an irritant to your skin so there’s that to consider as well! I would recommend not having the particular piece touch your skin by wearing it over your shirt or blouse ensuring there’s no skin contact! Thx for your interest & support!
@@navasan.. I don’t like the paste for that reason & only use the Novacan liquid flux now. If you haven’t watched this video check it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bNrXo87MD5E.htmlsi=NKv_9bgG1jcGGDfX
