Thank you for taking the time to post this how to facade of your shack. Building anything to those of us without handyman skills can seem daunting, but you broke the structure down, section by section, and pointed out the details and hints to anyone wanting to pattern theirs after yours. Thank you once again for making such a build less intimidating.
Wow beautiful yard haunt and props, great job! I absolutely love that shack, amazing details! Was this your first year doing a haunt, cuz dang this is impressive!😄🎃👍
Grim, Jason here... Wasn't my first but definitely my biggest and most focused. Over the past 5 years it's been growing and growing. This year I decided to make something I can use for a few years at least. Normally it's a clean slate. I appreciate your complements. We are already hard at work on both of our Haunts already for this year! Don't forget me if you ever make more of those Gremlin ornaments!
@@donardmaniaci8831 I'm using a Chauvet Hurricane 1302. It's an excellent machine but discontinued. The Hurricane 1200 or 1600 should be what you are in the market for, depending on your size and needs.
@@HolyCityHaunters I have a chauvet fog machine but I have never used it. I am disabled and with the fog machine at ground level I would struggle to be able to keep filling the liquid tank. If the timer is on 5 minute pause and 5 seconds ON how long do you think a gallon of fog liquid would last? Many thanks 👍 My displays are only out from 29th oct until the morning of 1st nov.
I just stumbled upon your awesome channel and instantly subbed. And then I noticed it flipped from 999 subs to 1,000 subs. I guess it was meant to be. Your props are awesome and your narration is so smooth. Best wishes 👍
I L❤VE this setup! I was honestly hoping to learn how to build the witch. Great design and awesome effects 👏 👍 If you have a video on how to build the witch, I would for sure watch it! I'm just getting into making haunts, and I'm planning something for next year. Thank you for sharing!
W🥴W !!! THIS SET UP IS AMAZING! This is THE BEST SET UP I'VE SEEN SINCE DISNEY LAND! 👏😁 You are so very talented, it's really nice of you to share your masterpiece with the community... People will surely remember the great spooky 👻 memories you gave them! Really nice ! 🎃
This is the absolute best kind of haunter content out there. Thank you for taking the time to explain your processes and give insights into how you haunt! I have so much more inspiration now - that laser swamp effect is stunning.
Thank you Ryan and we're glad it was inspiring! We have learned so much from other haunters posting content, this was just our way to give back to the haunt community. Cheers
Wow! That is absolutely amazing!! You are so very creative! Halloween is my favorite holiday to decorate for and this was right up my spooky alley. Love it!
Oh my..this looks so good. You make it sound like I can pull something like this off too...thanks to your detailed walkthrough Thanks for the inspiration overload ...as af my Halloween to do list didn't already reach Mars 🤪 Happy haunting!
❤️❤️👻.I just found you tonight! The swamp house is amazing! I have never made a structure for outdoors. I know personally that you can spend hours sketching layouts, creating new props and think your light layout is going to do the trick. I just love to create and have no skill in lighting, sometimes I have gotten lucky especially with choices on the market versus 20 yrs ago. The swamp effect made me want to try using fog effects again. My dad had one of the first haunted houses in Kansas City, Ks in the early ‘60’s. Boswell’s house of horrors! The classic characters: he was Dracula, his 6’7” friend was Frankensteins monster and another wore a convincing werewolf full costume. Mother was a witch. I inherited her witches cackle so witches are my main characters in my old school little haunts. You’ve made me want to set up my last haunt before I hand it over to the next generation. I’m slow now and it’s really too late to make a structure, but I really like your ideas . I like your swamp fog design. Looking forward to watching your other videos. Happy haunting from Peculiar, Missouri👻👻💀
Stacy, that is an absolute amazing story... and in itself is exactly why we do what we do... to make memories for kids who one day may become haunters like us. We usually take December and January off.. then we are back on it in February. It does take some planning but when you see a vision just got for it!
Love Love this! Amazing work, looks like something that should be a scene at an amusement park. Thank you for explaining everything, you made it seem very simple. I just have to say it, this has over 1.1k likes, with over 32,340 views and I'm super annoyed that there are 8 dislikes (excuse me, 8 haters) for this awesome video.. @RU-vid needs to just do away with the dislike button, It's seriously useless.
A real passion for HALLOWEEN!!🎃 We do a show every year since 1996, and this inspiration will help us expand and add new and creepy things too!! BTW, I just subscribed!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN 24/7, 365!!
Great job on your yard! I have subscribed! I don't know if you know about this trick but you can put mulch over the fog pipe and wet the mulch down before you use it and it helps hold the fog to the ground in windy situations. Love your yard swamp too!
Awesome setup! I'm gathering some ideas for my haunt and I'm curious -- What material were the walls made of? Also, the idea of using PVC with wire is brilliant!
This is awesome! I wish you were my neighbor and we could haunt together! My favs were the swamp cabin and the lasers. Could u point me in the direction of where to purchase lasers? Thank you for sharing your haunt! Absolutely love it!
Can’t believe I haven’t found your channel before - I actually live in the Holy City myself and rarely see stuff from this area. We do a big party for the kids’ classes every year and I need a swamp! Thanks for the inspiration! Quick question, how much weight do you think the wiper motors can actually take? I’m looking for the simplest solution to moving things without using pistons, sensors, and timers - this year going for less startle scares and more of a fun and creepy environment. (The compressor/hydraulic props always seem to fail on the big night - probably because I have no expert knowledge of these things and we fly by the seat of our pants each year).
JUST WONDERFUL FOR A GOOD REASON FOR ME, WE DO ONE AS WELL NOT AS INVOLVED AS YOURS BUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS JUST LOVE IT. ONE MORE THING I REALLY LIKE WITH YOURS AS OURS, IT'S FOR THE KIDS TO ENJOY AND NOT GORY AS MANY HAVE!!
How are your landscape timbers secured into the ground? Did u drill a hole so they could sit over short pieces of rebar (vs. digging big holes in your lawn)?
I wish u would do a tutorial on how u made your witch work underneath the clothing because I got everything else working right except the head part, mine just doesn't look right how high I got her head and I have the same mask u got before I have ever seen your video but I'm having problems getting it to look real looking like yours
Wow you invited Hillary Clinton to play the part of the witch in your Halloween decoration display. That must have cost your soul to get her to show up.
Oh yeah I guess we forgot to mention that lol. So the wall is made from landscape fabric. It's 3'x100' rolls just taped together and we added slits for wind to pass through. It worked but not the strongest material.
Warchild, we used MXTLaser brand 520nm class IIIA line lasers. They are about 35 bucks on Amazon but order them now, they are coming out of china and it took 2 months for them to arrive last year.
Trying to create the swamp water. Bought the lasers and fog machine... attached an irrigation tube to the fog machine and drilled holes in it but it's not working giving us the effects. Any tips? We're in Florida, does it need to be cold out?
Mason, a few pointers. 1: Make sure your tube has space between the tube itself and the machine, the tube needs to breath. 2: You do not need to chill it but your choice of fog juice is important. If you are attempting this indoors, use haze juice. If outside like myself, I use Froggy's Bog Fog. 3: Balance your hole spread. Depending on the length of tubing you are using, smaller holes closer to the machine and larger holes towards the end of the tubing can balance out your fog spread. For best results, an automatic fog machine set to low continuous speed is best to keep the tube full of fog and to not overheat the machine which will turn off and cool down before starting up again. 4: Do not have too thick of fog. Too thick of fog can block the laser from passing through the fog, cancelling the effect. You can make adjustments to your holes in your tube or machine output to thin out the fog.. it has to be just right to make the watery effect. I hope this helps. If not please let me know and describe what is happening with your set up.
Absolutely love this. You really put so much detail and thought into your haunts. I’ve been making some of my own animated props for a few years now. Your laser swamp effect is amazing! Id like to do this for my front yard this year. I have an aluminum boat as a flower planter in a low lying area in my front yard and it would be so cool if I could get that water effect there. I was gonna put a couple of jigging skeletons in the boat and this would really set the scene off. What type of lasers did you use and where could I find them? We’re they high end lasers or would cheaper versions do?
Wow I actually thought that the witch was a real person, amazing display you are very talented.🎃👍 I just added this comment as someone said below I too like the creepy magical displays not the gory bloody body part displays this is perfect!!!!
the Bayou shack reminds me so much of the scene on the Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I expected the old fella on the porch rocking in his chair and plucking his banjo. awesome display! the witch looks so real, when your lifted up her dress to show her mechanism, I expected her to stop stirring and give you a smack across the face and say "God Dern ya! don't mess with matters that don't concern ya! 🤣
Hi Kelly. Search "green line laser" on Amazon. They often change but you can find them right now as an Amazon Install Pick. This model fog machine I think has been discontinued but Chauvet should have a newer comparable model.
