@Music0522 It wasn't allowed to show that on tv back then. They already were the most physically romantic couple on tv in the 60s I believe...and there are several "almost-kiss" scenes ;)
At the end I thought they were going to kiss I wish they did it was the last Addams Family scene it would have been a great ending and John and Carolyn could have let their love out for real thanks for uploading this I am very grateful xxx

Thanks for uploading this. I have wanted to see this for a long time. There is nothing like the addams family. I just wish Carolyn Jones was still alive. Anjelica Huston doesn't hold a candle to her

This is so gruesome and sooo special for me symbolizing a better time the 70s are still alive!!! I still remember watching this when it came out in 77! Man those were the days!
Between 4:00 and 4:05 if looks like Carolyn and John almost kissed on accident. Watch very carefully; she draws her hand down his face and when he's done kissing it, she pulls his face closer and they look at each other's lips. It's cute.
Hey, I have been working on a fan edit of Halloween with the new Addams family, in an attempt to simplify the film and make it more like an episode of the classic tv show. I've trimmed it down to 55 minutes, I restored cousin itts voice, desaturated the color, added in classic character theme music, and sound effects from the show. I recently put out my first draft of this edit, with a more polished one coming out sometime next week, I'll provide a link in case you're interested in watching! It's still sad that Gomez and Morticia never ever had a proper kiss, I always prayed one day they would, they were perfect for each other, but they never did. ;( The actors were very close as well, and we all knew John Astin loved Carolyn, didn't we? ;)
Last time I saw this was when it was on TV October 30th, 1977. I was a big fan of the TV series, but this was a kind of forgettable reunion show. The only thing I remember is the end when they're all singing going up the stairs. However some scenes were cut by commercials and I only had a black and white TV.
Definitely appreciate this post as it special meaning. Like others below, I had been looking for this because the song had been in my head for so many years. I was 11 and my two younger brothers who were 7 and 6 and I watched this together in our small, shared room in the North Carolina mountains. It was right before my parents divorced and my brothers and I would return to Florida with my Dad My youngest brother loved this one -- he only made it to 16. Mom never left the NC mountains -- she passed a couple years back, but I had often talked to her about this show as it was a memory in my head and heart of a time when we all were together. Thanks for sharing it. Good memories.

@Music0522 Oh yes! John even talked about in these videos: "Attraction to Morticia" and The Addams Family Q&A Panel Part 2". (In the second vid he starts talking about her around 3:40.) Just type in 'john astin monster mania' and you'll be able to find them. He said they got to tell each other everything they ever felt before she passed. :)

@Music0522 Well, when the original series aired they weren't allowed to, so Carolyn and John had to come up with craftier ways to show their affection for one another.
is it true that they had to put a slit into carolyns dress all the way up to her spine so she could walk up the staires? I saw someone mention it somewhere...Bet John got a nice view...

@Scottiepig I agree. It was a crap movie for such iconic performers. They could have done more with this. It's as if they sold out to Sid and Marty Kroft just to get the film aired.

Nice to see, but yes, a rather poor production, saved by seeing the original cast members, and why did they have Gomez reduced to a lowly worm? He didn't deserve that, he should have been Top Snake First Degree for sure!
