Seriously goals! I love the carpet, but I love the color of the door the most!! I’m looking at all the doors in my house and wondering where I can do that! Suggestion...You should paint the entryway table wood the same navy color. It would really pop against the white walls and tie into the door!
I am so happy and proud of you. It's so hard not to give up when you had so much to do!!! The fireplace in the corridor is an odd place but I'm really fond of old mantle piece (faking a fireplace here, in my bedroom). Your house will finally be guest ready and hopefully to your taste for the holidays. Happy Christmas 🎄
I'm so happy for you! I know how discouraging it can be to walk into an unfinished entry/hall like that. If you keep the carpet scraps for shoes, you can get the carpet vendor to bind the edges for you, so they look good laying on the floor.
LOVE this! Everything looks so fresh and clean and homey. Isn't it interesting how a little elbow work can be so satisfying? The clearing of the paint from the door to the painting of the door (love the color) and the addition of the carpet and decorations. Makes you feel like you are in a brand new space. :)
Seriously this is amazing! You have such a great eye for color and balance. It’s incredible what you have done to your home! Thank you for sharing 🌸 btw, I know this is kind of random but I want to mention that I always like the unique music you have on your videos :)
You have given your home so much love and respect for how it was originally built. Seeing this transformation over the last months has made my heart so happy. I’m sure your home and the past residents who have fond memories of living there would appreciate the care and love you’ve given to your special place.
Your house renovation project is a dream 😍❤ One day I want to do this but in the meantime I'm living it through your channel 😬 the dark door is everything 😍
always keep your carpet off-cuts if you have the storage space! I dont know how many times its saved us! We always take it out to put underneath the Christmas tree, to protect from watering spillage, but also having to move heavy things and protecting our hardwood floors. They can be a big help when moving!
Congrats on restoring this amazing space!!! What a process that I'm sure you won't forget. You are so talented and have an adorable spirit that you will bring to this home!!! Yay...female power!!!
Your house is just coming along. It’s looking fantastic and the carpet is lovely. I never thought about putting the garland on stairs lower like that. Gorgeous ❤️❤️
Wow, what a difference! I'd keep those carpet offcuts forever - just look for some white fringe trim on sale and get out the old glue gun! Then you can put them down or store them away as needed.
Can't say i love the carpet as i associate fully carpeted floors with offices and restaurants but you do you. The decorations look fantastic, i love that garland in the stairs!
I am in love with your sweater! It looks super comfy x3 Also, I will move on the first of January and I'm currently binge watching all your DIY videos to get inspiration for my new apartment ~ So excited!
wow you made such a progress, your house is getting cozier by a minute. i love the way you did the door. and i also think a mirror would look great above the mantelpiece visually widening the narrow hallway. congrats 🎉 you did a beautiful job, so inspiring
Love it! It's amazing how much a space can transform when carpet is put in. You definitely made the right choice to put in the carpet- it cozied it up!
Merry Christmas. The carpet looks great! What a difference. The front door is great too. It looks like such a welcoming space now. You both must be so proud. ❤️💞💜💕🇨🇦
The front door and your hallway look wonderful!! All of your hard work and plans have paid off -- a very warm and welcoming hallway for your home! I agree with all of the suggestions to keep and trim all of the spare bits of carpet - really helps to keep the hallways, stairs and rooms much cleaner over the winter months! Also try to add a large rubber or metal boot mat at the front door! That is an odd bit of hallway upstairs - add some shelves, artwork and a big mirror above that unused spare fireplace! Can't wait to see more DIY Diary videos! And a video of your dining room all dressed up for Christmas! Happy Christmas!
Hey, great ideas ... thanks👏 A small tip, it is best to avoid putting up mirrors on West/South/SW wall of a room (said to bring bad luck) ... Mirror is best placed on East, North or NE walls perhaps coz it represents direction of rising sun.
I am so in love with your videos and your home! It is turning out so beautifully! So excited for when it's all done! You keep me motivated to DIY stuff in mine!
The carpet looks amazing! If you want more light in that little hallway to your office you could open up that fireplace and set some decorative LED candles or fairylights (wrapped around logs) in the grate :)
Oh my gosh, it’s like you’re living my life. I did exactly the same thing and put a nail through our heating less than an hour before having carpets fitted! 😱 Anyway, when it comes to getting carpets, I always recommend local companies. They are usually massively cheaper than big stores. We’ve used the same local company twice now and they are amazing!
OMG, Hermione, this looks so awesome! A very wise decision to go with a carpet, I personally may have omitted the entrance area but if it's easy to clean... :) The door looks amazing with the brushed brass accents!
I am not sure how RU-vid deals with advertisement, but I always wonder: you link filming/editing products you use down below, but not the small businesses that help you (the decorator, the carpet people,...). Is it because they don't want to be named, or is there some other reason? I was wondering because I thought that for a small business that did a gorgeous job, this might be a nice shoutout. No criticism, just curiosity :-). Have a happy Christmas and enjoy your lovely house!
Love everything that you are doing with the place! Your entryway table is so cute! Did you get that at a charity shop? Currently looking for an entryway table for my place.
