The ending really got me confused but watching their review and their point of view kinda made more sense to me for example: people including myself were complaining about master chief constantly taking his helmet off and that they weren't following the games logic but now it makes sense. John's was a person that was the human version of master chief but now that Cortana took over that humane part of him die and left, but from now on we are going to see master chief like the game that silent, cold hearted version of him. And I guess looking back from the beginning of the season till the end the story led up to that moment. I'm actually curious to see what will happen in the next season. I won't say this one was perfect but I believed people rush too quick to be disappointed about s show that has only a few episodes.

I’ve been reading the books since watching this abomination. The books don’t let me down the way the show does, and it shines a light on the glaring character issues with the show. Master Cheeks is an absolute vagina compared to Master Chief & co. The Spartans, Chief especially, appreciate their place in the military despite being abducted. They’re innocent and naïve in ways, but also awesome, without the petty flaws written into the characters on the show. Basic lazy cliches. The show also greatly underdelivers on the origins of the Spartans and capabilities of MJOLNIR armor.

Idk how they’ll do it, but if they introduced a Arbiter and season 2 was him being on the Covinent side and he’s a badass (with hints of the games story) then Season 3 he turns over after they show their hand of replacing his species with the Brutes (like the games)

I don't know, Reach was the only game where the Covenant felt like a prominent threat IMO, in all the rest of the games, the covenant got his ass kicked too much, the flood felt like the real prominent threat through the franchise

They are setting up madrigal and kwan ha's family lineage for the HALO lore. I think they were somewhat a "protector" as stated in episode 7.

cortana wasnt done particulerly well in my opinion, from her design to her character everything was about her was just a bit off.

The action scenes are fine, but I feel like they can get better storytelling and visuals by just storyboarding shots more particularly and investing the CG production more wisely Like if all CG action was planned as well as the pilot’s fight between Silver Team and the Elites, the action would be impeccable; but like tracking Kai as she chased down Halsey and the POV transitioning was schlocky and cutsceny while also being worse than actual cutscenes

@@hellfish2309 People seem to forget that this show doesn't have Amazon/Apple/Disney+ kind of budget. There' limitations to what they can do. We won't get that much Covenant or battles with this show's budget, so they're focusing more on building the world, characters and their development.

In Halo 2, they have shields (at least Regret, for some reason Mercy didn't have one against his flood fella lol), I know they didn't even try it here to shoot them, but I don't think it would have been possible

A valid reason for not using the ship to provide immediate cover fire is probly the same reason Chief decided to airdrop instead of land, becuz it's their only means of transport and if it got shot down, the 4 heavily wounded Spartans would be stranded and vastly outnumbered deep behind enemy lines. As for why Cortana didn't assume control on the way there, the scene showed that distortion from the zone caused Master Chief and Vannak to lose contact with her which is why MC had to navigate the rest of the way on instinct

@@joeg6478 sure they didn’t need to use it immediately good reason to keep it back. But when that horde of elites made its way towards them. When they started to get overwhelmed. Cortana should have known to send in air support. The way everything plays out just makes it seem like she waited for everyone to go down. Her losing contact did not make sense to me. How is her connection fading, she’s literally inside his head.

@@Tookieslam - i think that was the writers showing us that the nature of the gravitational zone surrounding that planet is strong enough to effect her link with Chief even in his head. Notice Cortana didn't call in the air support till she had MC's okay to both take over his body and the mission. After she broke from Halsey, re-gaining MC's trust is important to her so she hasn't preferred to act without his permission.

This. I think a fan edit could turn it into a really great series.

@@OniLink147 it didnt look like a burn to me, either way, we cauterize to destroy granulation tissue, achieve homeostasis and remove tissue growths. Also it looked like an open wound to me so, to stop bleeding.

I didn't even know they were made from a bunch of worms before watching the show, lol. Later I looked up the races that made up the Covenant, and I was like "oh, they're made from those worms that appeared in that one episode."

Couldn't have said it better myself. I've been playing the games since 2001, and still I enjoy the show for what it is, even if it is nothing like the lore though Madrigal I agree, we all hate that part equally

How is it not Halo? This happens before the original trilogy games. It happens before the Fall of Reach novel and game. It even explains why we never really get much personable interaction between John and Halsey, and how Halsey found herself on the outs with the UNSC. As far as I can remember, the show doesn't contradict the games or the prequel novels.

I personally think that this still falls down as Halo, I mean it isn't the same as the games, and in a way. I think that is good, because if it came to be pretty much the same as the games, you'd be like, would I rather watch Chief do things, or be Chief and do things myself. People would probably rather play the games than watch the show. I have pretty much have accepted that any and all film or show adaptations of games is not going to be the same as the original. Which is good, because it gives me a new experience with something I already know, and like with the several different versions and movies of Spider-Man, I think of it as a potential different Universe from the games. Like how there was Tobey's with Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom, Harry's Goblin, and Sandman. Andrew's with Rhino, Electro, Lizard, and the potential of a Goblin (that never really went through). Then Tom's with Vulture, Mysterio, and then the mix of all three together. It is just an alternate universe where we get to see something new, different. I think that when it comes to the battle scenes, they are a treat, the music, combat, and visual effects are what makes me enjoy the show more, is because I yearn to have more of it, and love it when I get so I enjoy it more with so little. It makes me feel like if we had so much combat we could get bored of it. Oh another Grunt gag, but when there are Grunt gags like when the Grunt pretty much gets squashed by Chief that is a treat. It is like star on a dark night in a way. There is still some enjoyable bits from the dark night, but the star shines as a bonus.

@@kwanarchive the show has no connection to games, the creators have said this, and even just by watching the show you can tell it doesn’t follow the games at all. Halsey’s reasoning behind making Cortana is wildly different in the show than it is in the game. Cortana wasn’t made specifically for John in the game, that wasn’t her sole reason for being created, she did, however, CHOOSE him as her partner. The show’s version of Cortana was made specifically to control John, that’s not in the games, at all. The show takes place in its own continuity, dubbed the “Silver Timeline” named after the fact that John is part of Silver Team in the show and not Blue Team like in the actual lore.

Sacrificing our humanity to save humanity is literally the core of the spartan II programme so it would certainly be on brand. Here's hoping the new writers take the fans feedback on board and chief actually feels like chief in season 2.

they could say “when cortana took control, she override John biological Emotional responses so he’s the john we know, but cannot express his feelings as he did before” and we could get a chief more similar to the games

The majority of game fans will never give it a chance. Compare this to Agents of Shield. Marvel fans shit on it for its entire existence because the first season wasn't great and wasn't what they wanted. It didn't matter that following seasons were some of the best things you'd find on television. The show had strong numbers for Paramount and would probably be better off building a show directed to its current fans. That could end up being what game fans like, but it shouldn't be built to cater to them.

“The Offer” and “Strange New Worlds” are promising, but they are definitely not offering (ha) enough to justify adopting the cost: if the average jabronie is already paying for either Netflix, D+, or both as well as Prime, an additional platform to pay for showing 3 properties of moderate interest is hard sell

SEAL and SWAT are both up there for me. I usually have issues with shows like this as an operator in the Corps, but SEAL and SWAT are pretty damn accurate to real life, they have good stories, and good actors, that puts those shows miles ahead the others of that genre. Strange New Worlds is the thing I am watching next.

Chief talks a lot in the books. Game Chief (1-3) talks a little. Halo 4 Chief is probably the closest to how he’s portrayed in the books.

Not the books, the games. It's a clear connection with the player character controlling him. Book chief is a whole lot more like the chief without the helmet we see in the show.
