Awesome as always! Quick question not really in regards to this video, but this is the newest one, so I'll ask here: regarding power chords in most rock / metal etc songs on Rocksmith, do you ever play an upstrum on power chords, at all? Or is it always just down strums? Upstrumming on power chords feels weird to me, since "normal" upstrums only hit the lowest two, maybe three strings of the guitar?

In songs like Jesus of suburbia, you strum down up down up. In songs like in bloom I also like to alternate down and up on power chords because somedays it’s just feels better. + my upstrums are always hitting all 3 strings so I’m not sure if you’re doing something wrong, or I’m doing something wrong…

It depends on the song and how you want to sound. Alternating is best for songs with faster repetitive power chords, like pop-punk or metal kinda stuff, since it doesn't take as much energy to keep strumming. For a song like this you don't really get any benefit from alternating and downstrokes generally sound better. It's also totally fine to switch during certain parts too. I'll often alternate for most of a song but during parts I want to build up or get higher energy sounds I'll swap to down strokes. You'll definitely want to practice hitting all three strings until it feels right
