Isnt it crazy how a youtube video of a video game's main menu has 4m views? It really shows you what this game meant to people and how tied we are to it and that time in our life. The friends we made, the late nights online, all of it. Its the most pure, most beautiful nostalgia I've felt and its just as powerful everytime I see this loading screen

I'm 37. This game was peak college life for us late 80s babies. Some of them are no longer here. RIP Philip & Aaron.

No microtransactions, no DRM, no season pass, just a great game Edit: People complaining that a season pass is better then halo 3 DLC model forget that this game launched in 2007 it had 10 dlc maps four of which being free by July 2008 other map packs being discounted this game was supported with dlc till January 2010 all this not including countless custom community forge maps and online event hosted by Bungie such as "Bungie vs the world" playlist. I have yet to see another game with this much dedication to the community non of these maps would have been free under the season pass model and also these maps were not made before launch of halo 3 and then held back so they could sell them to you later like most games nowadays.

I want to hug everyone in this comment section. For all I know, I've played matches, made memories and possibly even been friends with some of you. Whoever you are, I'm glad we all experienced this together

After 14 years, Halo 3's servers on Xbox 360 will be coming to an end. I'll never forget the memories I had with this game.

Halo was a part of my childhood. Halo will always be life. I miss my gaming buddies…

when you log back on and look at your friends list, and it just says offline, and you know you'll never see those people or share any memories with them again.

I remember hearing someone say that the biggest sin of MCC is that they didn't include the original menus/themes, and I would have to agree wholeheartedly.

This game was THE reason to buy an Xbox 360.

My brother passed away in 2011 but we always played Halo 3 even when reach was out but man do I wish I could sit next to him one more time and play the Halo 3 campaign . I remember all the hours spent with him teaching me how to play the game. What buttons to press how to control where I look, to think it's been five years since I've played with him.

God I miss those nights when I'd wake up at some point in the middle of the night at my friend's house. Not knowing what time it was as the blue light from the old CRT washed over the basement and the music softly played from the speakers. I miss you buddy.

Summer nights staying up literally everynight. Halo 3 custom games are still some of the most fun I've ever had in gaming. Maybe even in life.

my uncle passed away 4 days ago; all he did was play Halo 3 on his Xbox 360. As a person with down syndrome he played the game so much and never got tired of it. when i was younger i’d sit next to him and watch him play it. oh the things i’d do to watch him play the game one last time again. i love you Eddie. the family misses you.

Let me guess Your home It was.....and it was beautiful

Ever notice how halo 1 and 2 after the main theme they both sounded like “alright lets go kick some ass” but halo 3 sounds sad. Almost like a farewell from Bungie.

I can’t stop crying. I remember eating a McDonald’s happy meal when my dad walked in with a big smile on his face holding a copy of Halo 3. Oh god the piano theme started.

11 Years ago, 3 in the morning, walking back into my room with a soda and pizza rolls, hearing my lobby full of friends chatter and laugh through the headset before we launch some big team battle. I'm glad I got to experience it.

No one will understand the feeling of this song unless you played Halo as a kid. Earthshattering bittersweet now. And just angering that I can’t restart and do it again.

My dad died last August and he loved playing Halo, in fact he played it more than I did so whenever I hear this theme in particular I'll always think of him.
