Wow, never realized he was a pre-order bonus. Us MCC players should be very appreciative of how we can just unlock him so easily. This commercial was also very cool in my opinion. They should have more like these because they are funny and convey the message in a way that Halo players understand.
I remember getting the sergeant johnson preorder bonus with the game back when I was still in highschool I saved up my lunch money to get it and I snuck out of my bedroom window to go to the midnight launch at gamestop to pick it up. When i was on my way back to my house the cops had found me on my bike and they decided to give me a ride back to my house, putting my bike in the trunk of their squad car. At the very least My dad was really surprised to see me standing outside the door with the cops. I was like “Dad I’m sorry if you don’t understand, but I JUST HAD TO GET SERGEANT JOHNSON! Lol
Can we appreciate that we had the chance to actually play as Johnson? I feel like that's such a neat thing that just sort of never gets brought up. Easily the most cherished pre order bonus I ever got and I'm happy everyone else who didn't get a chance to play him does in MCC now!

Only regret was not pre-ordering this game. I got it from a friend who worked at Microsoft for half the price instead. Lots of hours on this game. More on my copy of the OST. So much nostalgia here.
I plan to unlock him last. Not only to clear my whole ODST season, but out of respect for the Sgt. Major Johnson. The road's a tough one, I ain't letting the freedom of unlocks give me shortcuts.
Ammmmm? There is a dlc bonus character for Sgt. Johnson, it was only avalible by pre-ordering the original Halo 3:ODST. But, Halo 3: ODST Firefigth it's coming for TMCC, so there's a hope Sgt. Johnson will be added too

Your judging 343, unfairly, the games may have had microtransactions, and not so good story, but the multiplayer was always good. And the forge, almost limitless. But if you think about it. They actually care about the fan base, they ARE listening. And they will deliver, in Halo infinite. And MCC for PC. As they are overhauling everything to make it more PC game than console game. Not to mention, we MIGHT just get playable elites in H:I. The chances might be low but they didn't say they weren't adding them in, nor did they say they were adding them in. We just have to wait, i know MCC will be good. But if you really hate 343 that much, just wait for Installation 01. God damn do I miss Sgt. Johnson. Hell he alone could sell a halo game. I miss these adverts that used Sgt. Johnson, they were the most unique Bungie used, and I wish he had not died so these kind of trailers could have continued.
I remeber they auctioned off a copy of odst with the guide if you won a halo 3 tournament, those were the days. Honestly, this game failed simply by not having multiplayer, a lot of people wanted this game, if it was multiplayer it wouldve been bigger and liked a lot more. I love it, one of my top 10.
