The theme to my early gaming years, this game was truly special to me. I miss the the old days when halo 3 was populated, I wish I could relive a day or two of 2007.
Not gonna lie, as much as the old h3 was great, 343 are really showing a lot of love to it on the mcc. It really feels like the good ol days since its getting updates
I take long walks though the city to meditate. I listen to the "Heretic, hero mix", the "Impend Arbiter mix", the "Forest walk mix" and finally "Sierra 117" from my start to my end. Each song flows and connects though the same rythim and melodies that make you truly feel like you are walking you're own lonesome road. Making your own Great Journey. Halo music is beyond common Video game music and I will debate this belief until I'm blue in the face and red in the teeth. Halo music is a beautiful array for the soul. You are the "Cartographer" for that array, if you will. And this construct suits my life just fine. Anyways, thank you for making some of the most Iconic music of our age somehow even better.
@@kjj26k I am a strong believer in the idea that any expressive form of media should be considered Art. I feel that the Halo series has had a masterful composition that is, in its own way, a mural of sound. Repeating melodies and rythims between songs through the series paints a massive picture through sound that both perfectly conveys what the gameplay represents while also being a wonder to listen to as stand alone music. Halo has been with me most of my life, I'd put the Bungie era Halo music high on the list of top soundtracks of all time. Halo is one of the most influential pieces of fiction of the last 2 decades, In my opinion. So yes, I'd certainly agree with you.

Halo 3 is just one of the few games that never lose any love or anything about it, it stays good because its among the best and being made by amazing people with an astonishing music composer, Halo 3 was truly ahead of it's time
Such great sounds. It's only the first mission in Halo 3, so Marty eases us into Halo with familiar percussion. Only the final track in the level gives us those classic Halo vocals, and even then it's muted enough to leave you yearning for more for the rest of the game.
Halo 3 truly felt like a "finale" kinda game, if it ended up being the last one i wouldnt have complained because it would've been a fitting end to Halo.
If I had the ability it make a fan-made halo game *(which I don't)* , I would use this song half-way through the game at the start of a flood mission. You are an elite warrior who works for the super secret "Silent Shadow" division Fighting the treacherous brutes in High Charity. Many Loyalists & separatists from each race are fighting each-other. After the flood successfully manage to capture the council Chamber, Kill the Prophet of mercy, and have already infected 3/5th of the city, the atmosphere is too polluted to even breathe, and in-fighting between races has stopped, as the parasite is now converting the holy city into a Gravemind *(or the Gravemind from installation 05 already made its way into the city's centre)* since the forerunner Keyship at the centre has been gone for a few days. As loyalists & seperatists conclude that killing each-other is far too pointless at this time, they agree to work together to quell the cursed flood and evacuate survivors. You, a Silent Shadow Elite are now tasked to fly a seraph around the 200 mile wide city, to disable/destroy certain buildings & computer systems from both infected & uninfected areas *(Halo reach: New Alexandria style)* before the flood can decode them & learn more about Covenant cultures and planets. As this is all going on, Shipmaster from Halo 2 & 3 is talking you through the mission. And as this is all going on, This song remix playing in the background. Eerie, dark, slow, and ambient, as it symbolises how the Covenant already know that High Charity is lost, and are now fighting to prevent the flood from claiming the spoils of war. *PS:* Unlike new Alexandria, this hypothetical flood mission has multiple objectives you can do an any order you choose, rather than a pre-determined one.
