I was trying to figure out why I love Fred's voice so much and I realized the voice actor's really deep voice makes it sound like an old Halo machinima
I'm not sure if I like that reviving mechanic. One of the fun parts of halo co-op was when you you died and your partner had to get out of combat so you could respawn. It was fun to watch them in third person and see if they could survive long enough for you to come back.
+John Hunter the only problem i have with this (excluding coop mind you) is that when you play singleplayer and your ai teammates run out of time, they die and then respawn which breaks the immersion. maybe they'd be better off with your suit going into armor lock and having to get it unlocked, or at least have the ai companions have unlimited time. i have no other problems with this game though.
While its never really explained what happened to cause Argent Moon to end up like that in the game, the book series does explain it. There's a book called Halo: Retribution taking place years before this when the Master Chief is still lost in space. An admiral is assassinated and her family kidnapped and a team called Ferret is assigned to hunt down the killers and rescue her family. Aside from their leader, the Ferrets are all Spartan-IIIs and they get caught in a plot to weaponize a virus that had wiped out a colony years before of which the only survivors had been the admiral's husband and children because they were immune. With the help of Blue Team, minus the Master Chief, the Ferrets foil the plot and apparently kill everyone involved. But they didn't get the true ringleader, a Forerunner AI named Intrepid Eye who had appeared in an earlier book. Intrepid Eye continued with its plans and secretly had everything transferred to Argent Moon. That bioweapon was what escaped and killed everyone on board and created those deformed creatures.
There just isn't enough of Masterchief in this game for me to want to come back to it. They force us to play as the new characters too often in the game.
Just played this mission for the first time and I am blown away with the graphics and atmosphere of the level. And seeing the chiefs old spartan team from the books was beyond hype... The voice acting was great and they looked amazing, especially Linda. I hear a lot of criticism for this game but I dunno... this might be the best halo game I’ve ever played.
I love this! It's so cool,can't wait. It brought back some good elements from past halos such as halo2,Bringing back comedy and epic action this is what halo the new ones- need,The good old feel of of halo 2 and 3. Comedy,Action,Boss battle(Not really boss battles but in there were harder enemies)And good story. 343i may recover from the fail called Halo4. :)
Having read the books, I'm SO GLAD Argent Moon was scuttled instead of recovered. A dangerous bioweapon was being created there and caused all of those initial deaths. That did NOT need to be recovered. Hopefully Intrepid Eye was still on the station and went up with it.
I don't care what anyone says, the dialogue and the cutscenes and the gameplay looks and feels like one of the old books with blue team like fall of reach and ghosts of onyx
My GOD!!! They have made it feel so real and so life like. I've never experienced Halo like this before. I can't explain how amazing this looks and how much time they spent with these characters. The story for once seems on point.
I feel like I'm not the only one who wants to see more covenant and less prometheans in the next game. There's a reason why this is my favorite mission, and there's a reason why Halo: Reach was my favorite halo campaign...
+olddirtymongrrel Apparently the enemies are supposed to be more challenging and aggressive since there will always be four characters fighting, even if you are playing on your own. That said only just starting to watch now so not sure if this guy is just really bad yet.
+thedualblade No he's a noob that only starts on heroic difficulty+. On Normal and Easy they've dropped the rate of which enemies fire drastically, their shots have no tracking, the missile speed is greatly reduce, low grenade frequency and minimum high tiered enemies.

Seeing the contrast between this mission and the past one....... I like this one better. When I saw Chief and that classic atmospheric music was playing when going through the station, I got CE feels. Serious.....CE feels. Then when they started fighting, and these huge spaces opened up....I was like WOW!

Don't forget Reach. That game was emotional, compelling, and just all around beyond great. And yes, I play Halo for mainly campaign. I'd gladly pay 60$ for just halo campaign as longs as its ballin
+GhostShadow661 Love how people compare these two games when they are practically made by the same people. Ground pound has been described in the novels since early 2000's and shown off during a launch trailer for halo 3. If anything Bungie has just copy pasted everything halo that was already developed or was in a development cycle for the franchise. Since most of 343's employee's are former Bungie employee's that wanted to stay with the franchise, you can't say anything was copied because it's like trying to compare a Sams Club to a Walmart. Same company same shit they only difference is one sells a bigger package with more for your money.
The hell of the thing is that while the Chief is in charge here, he's actually not the ranking officer on Blue Team though he used to be. Fred is the ranking officer at Lieutenant Junior Grade. He got promoted in Halo Ghosts of Onyx from Senior Chief Petty Officer by Kurt Ambrose, the commander of the Spartan-IIIs and himself a Spartan-II who had been kidnapped from the program in 2531 to lead the Spartan-IIIs. Fred just prefers to follow the Chief's lead rather than taking command now that the Chief is back.
I haven't played a Halo game since Halo 2 (Xbox Original). But I never remembered Master Chief talking much. I thought he was the silent type, who likes to work alone.
Does anyone else play the Halo series on Legendary to begin with to get the most out of the game or run it through normal for the story then replay it on harder difficulties? I've always wondered this.

As someone who jumped from 360 to PS4, Halo are the series i miss the most! Sony should invest in a good exclusive FPS game with sp, coop and mp options to fit this gap.... That game is not Killzone or Resistance.

I wonder if Chief is playing Blue Swede's Hooked on a Feeling in his helmet while battling since Cortana is no longer there. After all Steve Downes did voice Starlord of Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers.
no company will stop milking a franchise that makes them money all the time and why should they stop? they do the franchise justice and existing franchise make more money then new original ideas so its just stupid to end them. and with how expensive it is to make AAA games they need successful franchises.
