Doctor: “You have an hour and 13 minutes to live.” Garish: “Okay I’ll play the Halo campaign one last time.” Doctor: “You can’t possibly finish the whole th-“. Garish: *watching the final cutscene “That was a shit run.”
25:38 for the sickest multiple grenade jumps!!! I think the gunfire is to time the throws of of the other grenades, same with the extra grenade throws?
Yes the shooting is for timing but there are no extra nades. The jump is 6 grenades detonating at the exact same time. The timing for all 6 to go off at the same time is extremely precise.
this shits giving me horrible death/anger whiplash... it takes me about an hour or two each level from all the bullshit legendary throws at me,and this dude just briskly runs through all the elite melees,Flood weapon/melee bullcrap, and random nade deaths without losing composure... what a legend Edit: he also beat one of my favorite levels (Assault on the control room) like it was nothing.... im mad lol
the beginning with the assault rifle on assault on the control room is a nightmare on legendary... almost no range, upclose is suicide with the two elites, and you get bombarded almost as soon as you step off the pelican
Album Reviews And Such he skips most of the fights which is why it takes him so little time. Just think about how much time you spend on each enemy, and then how many enemies he avoids with his skips and jumps
Garish you are a legend at Speedrunning. Halo CE is my Fav game and i love watching Speedruns about it. I've been watching since you got a 1:14 on the last day of the fucking year! Lol. Amazing to see how you're now rocking a 1:12. Keep being awesome!
You talked about 1:11; I think it's harder than it looks, but that's what's so great about it. Unless some new strats are discovered, I think when you get 1:11, we all be lucky enough to witness another one of those genuine "imagine getting a 1:14 on the last day of the fucking year...let's fucking go" moments, which is literally my favorite moment from any speedrun WR video ever. Can't wait...
Nice 1:12! Best Grav Lift clear I think I've seen in a WR run of yours...that TnR seemed like GLOD until those Marines slowed around that corner. And, how about that save at the end of SC? What the hell was that rigged first half of TB? My god, if everything's green coming out of the Library, the game WILL extract its pound of flesh in TB, but FIVE DEATHS?? All skill and execution in Keyes and Maw, with that perfect 360 and greased barrels to sweeten the finish. Just another unbelievable run by Garish.
@@timbuckthe2nd642 I'm not an expert on the "glod" thing, but here's what I can tell you. First, "glod" does indeed equal "gold", no more/no less. Second, it's likely a "meme" based on the easy misspelling of the word "gold" as "glod" when typing fast.
It´s so great to see someone play this old, yet still awesome game I grew up with, so nicely. I just fell in love with you. Halo CE was so great. Those Games under the Name of Halo are just the last drops milk of a once healthy cow that is dieing right now. Halo 1-3 ist best and nothing will change that for me.
I like how every little thing you do has a purpose to help you advance. You should casually explain what you're doing sometimes! The cutscene jump before speaking to Captain Keys at the start took me back for a few seconds.
I was doing coop full clear speedruns with my brother back in the day, we aced the game in about 3 hours without glitching and skipping most ennemies, at some point you have to run, but we literally mowed down everything so quickly it was ridiculous, it was on legendary obv. the only real difficulty to play. Nice speedrun tho, I just like being thorough.
And yet for a second time i missed a wr because of trivial pursuit Garish do you want to pay me to play trivial pursuit during your runs in the future to secure WRs?
In legendary speedrun everyone tries to avoid has many enemies has he can and to complete the mission in short, but no one has dare to stand fighting until the last enemy dies.
I'm just wondering if this is known... When I was a kid playing halo I shot the banshee at the start of halo out of the sky and was able to fly it. It didn't take that long and I feel like it might speed things up.
When he grenade jumps after getting the overshield it skips certain triggers to load enemies in the hanger later on. When he saves keys, the end of the level is determined when all the enemies in the hangar are dead, and so since the grenade jump skips the enemies from loading the level just ends right there (in the bridge). He aggros the marines to make them run faster and to skip the dialogue in the bridge, where the game will check for the enemies in the hangar.
Oh my God that grenade jump... i hadn´t seen those before on cartographer xD holy shit that´s unreal, don´t even want to know how many hours of experimentation people did to find that setup also i feel like you claim that the run is dead less often now, but ok have to finish watching to confirm this :P
I really need to catch up in the new strats. I haven't seen a run of this in years and I'm amazed at the new skips. It's amazing how much a run can change.
I just finished watching his 1:13 run with his new route and he posts this the moment i finish watching it lol. An even better run. The methof on the 1:13 run he could achieve alot better all up with his mistakes he lost probably over a minute he couldve got low 1:12 even 1:11.
Where and when? For the times where you're supposed to save marines, it's often faster to kill them and trick the game into not forcing you to wait around for their dropship
Oh man I started watching your content yesterday and saw the WR with the messed up super grenade jump thingy (halo runs are super cool btw, no idea there were so many tricks). Sick to see that you got the 1:12! I'm guessing you're shooting for sub 1:12 next? Where are you looking to scrape your time saves?
21:30 imagine being the marines and watching the chief come in and wipe an entire room packed with enemies in under 10 seconds with a fucking pistol and a sniper
Library is the one you like not liking. TB is the one that you think you like, but you really don't. Maw is just a fun balance between skill and chance. The rest is just "following protocol".
I don't really understand what you mean by splicing but there should be a ton of Covenant when You Reach the last area outside of the control room and I didn't see Jack jackal
