Be careful using the glitch, it has a chance to wipe the save you used and can soft lock. Also desync can be an issue as its not finished, I noticed time of day can desync
@@TexMackerson I mean it depends what the goal of the firearm is. if all you want is a double shotty then I think a high quality garage build is very doable
343 representative: “Thank you for pointing out this glitch. We will make sure to take the time we could have used adding more game modes like infection to resolve this issue. Then, we will use the time we could have used adding split screen in to fixing all the unforeseen issues that occurred from patching the original glitch. Here at 343 our motto when it comes to issues and glitches is “try to fix it, make it worse, then push back back our development roadmap timeline by 6 months””
@sly dankass well see that’s the thing is I think they actually do work hard but their just so miss managed that they have to work 2-3 times harder. But because they aren’t telling us what’s really going on and they all sign NDA agreements we have no clue what’s going on. They could be doing nothing. They could be doing a ton of work but the final product just doesn’t work for some dumb reason. We don’t know. We do know the job turnover is high right now at 343 and that’s definitely a bad sign
After writing that I wanted to look at 343’s Glassdoor reviews and yeah it sounds like management is the real issue now. They have some issues with the tools they are using. So I don’t think they are lazy, but they are just putting in a lot of work and dealing with a lot of stress for a project that is being held together by duck tape. One review did say all the other reviews are fake and made by RU-vidrs, but the all seem pretty consistent and real except for maybe a small amount.
@sly dankass yeah I completely agree. Management needs to be fired at 343 because they suck at their jobs. I just don’t like the saying 343 is lazy because I know there’s people there probably trying their best to get things done but like you said if you’re not given the right tools and your team isn’t being managed right then it’s kinda pointless.
There whole story has been BS, They should have HELD for another year on the game. Who ever is the top guy at M$ handling this FUMBLED HARD. The writing was on the wall everyone saw it but them apparently and yet they released a half assed game.
Not true. Even if the feature is part way done. Getting a feature to production is resource intensive in the planning, implementation, testing, and support stages. Patching out partially done work doesn't change that... Everyone saying "wahhhh 343 LIED about blah, blah" just demonstrates that this community has absolutely zero knowledge of how these things work.
@@NAJALU The feature was promised multiple times, I understand it’s very hard and other stuff clearly needs more focus, but outright lying to your customers will of course get them mad
The fact that this is actually already in the game leans me over to believing that it worked fine on the series x and PC but ran like crap on the original Xbox, I think they should've released it and just cut it from the original Xbox
After 16 hours I just finished campaign with my brother and cousin on the same Xbox Series S console. Yeah, not everything is optimized, but it was such an incredible experience! It’s become one of my favorite Halo co-op experiences, and getting to do it with two of my favorite people by my side made it all the better! It makes me especially sad that this will probably get patched out soon. Anyway, just a couple notes to anyone who wants to try this: -This is not a fully polished split-screen experience. Enemies and marines just show up as polygons when they’re more than 30 meters out or so, so make use of the threat sensor. It’s really useful so you don’t end up executing all your A.I. buddies. -Sometimes when you try to upgrade your equipment, the games UI will get stuck for that player and the “confirm choice” option box won’t go away. It happened twice, and the only way we figured out how to fix it was by starting a new mission. Maybe just try to do all your upgrading right before a new mission in case something gets stuck. -We pulled an all-nighter and did it in one go, so I don’t know how saving or playing over multiple sessions will work. I know it’s finicky and players have lost their files, so just be aware of what you’re getting yourself into. Anyway, once again, this was such a fun and unforgettable experience, and I just wanted to say thanks so much, @Mint_Blitz for putting this on my radar. It was something I had been looking forward to since the game was announced, and getting to do it with two other people on the same console was like a dream come true.
Be careful using the glitch. I've read that it can corrupt all of your saves and soft locks progress pretty easily (according to 4 community people on Twitter).
@@robertogonzalez1907 Yes it does, though keep in mind that there might be bugs since it's unfinished and also performance issues in base Xbox One specially with 4 people co-op
This reminds me of the 4-player co-op glitch from Halo 3 & Reach. I still use that glitch to play 3-player split screen firefight on Reach with my siblings. And, although still a glitch, at least there is a way to play split screen in Infinite as well.
Same thing with Lego games, there is a glitch in Lego marvel superheroes 2 that allows 3 player co-op when the maximum is 2, me and my brothers are the only ones who know about this glitch
@Lucas Tamarozzi Not really. It Takes Two popped off. Plus there's 4k likes on this video, you can assume those are from people who want to play splitscreen. 2.3k people played multiplayer today so you could even argue more people are interested in split screen than multiplayer.
@Lucas Tamarozzi lol If it's dead it's because the developers are killing it over the objection of their customers. Doesn't seem like a good business model.
@Lucas Tamarozzi I can give you over 12,000 names that say otherwise from the Halo 5 petition. People seem to get into this thought process that since they personally don’t play splitscreen coop that it just plain isn’t popular. Halo MCC campaign play numbers are living proof to say otherwise
With large 4K panels being more affordable, there's never been a better time for splitscreen gaming. I don't have friends anymore but I can imagine how fun that would be doing 4 player splitscreen on a huge, crisp TV screen.
People would probably soon realise this game’s code is worse spaghetti than Halo 2 due to the terrible development cycle and how they outsourced everything to a revolving door of part-timers. People would sit down motivated to attempt to fix this game but even for the community it would probably take years. _everywhere at the end of time_ starts playing
My favorite memories are not updates, or content, or events. It’s playing them with my friends and families. We should be able to share the same experiences with our kids that we had on splitscreen when we were kids. Thank you for pointing out split screen importance post server support. 343 is apparently okay with leaving games for dead after 4-5 yrs…
Halo 3 servers were up for 14 years, they only came down as you can still play the same game on MCC. Im not saying it's not a loss, but statiscally speaking very few people play couch co-op these days. Majority of people would have played this co-op online anyway. But I have to say they totally fucked up the launch of this game. They should have launched the multiplayer seperarely whenever and released the campaign when it was actually done because it's been a mess and to what end? They don't earn money from the campaign only multiplayer? Should have released better optimised so it can have better frame pacing on base Xbox one, with co-op, with ray tracing on series x and with decent cut scenes like all the other halo games of recent years. This is their most flag ship and premium title console seller in theory. Whether you like Halo 5 or not that game was incredibly well optimised and incredibly polished. I have to assume this game was originally planned as Xbox one only and later, next gen only, theb at the relatively last minute to be cross gen and that's where all the mess comes from. I am still looking forward to playing this game with my dad online, still not touched the campaign. Here's hoping it still comes out soon and is as fun as previous games.
It's kinda interesting that you can do this. Not that I need it, but the fact that split-screen is in the game but not... I dunnae, officially in the game, makes me think that while it has been indefinitely cut, it has a bigger chance than not to be brought back in at some point down the line.
What this tells me is 343 has a development fragmentation problems. They start doing a lot of projects and then have to drop them when they run into a roadblock and realize the entire studio has too many other problems and projects with the game for enough people to be onboard to overcome the specific roadblock (is what I assume because game devs and studios for whatever reason remain more closed doors with blackout curtains than a mob boss hideout).
Staten never said it wouldn't be coming. He just said they had to move resources from it to do other things on the bucket list. I figure when the bucket list is done they'll try to finish it up and drop it.
It's not cut because they can't do it or are "reallocating resources", give me a break. They think it'll impact sales, they want anyone who plays it to buy the game themselves. Stop giving these executives benefit of the doubt. Not the devs fault, but you're just money in 343s eyes.
@@patrickdonovan2323 THANK YOU!!! There are so many people -- including Remy, sadly -- who are incorrectly reporting that it's been cut. Glad I'm not the only one who actually watched their video, though it's still admittedly depressing lol.
Honestly tho can we acknowledge that split screen co op almost looks complete but 343 still decided to cut it all together….what an actual waste of development time and resources, they must have the most split management group in the world for all these bad decisions to be made. 343 is pathetic
💀 My guy you have no idea about development. There’s multitudes of reasons why they could’ve pulled it. Especially since coop is ties to your multiplayer’s spartan customisation as you can unlock armour in the campaign so buggy and broken save files could have a cascade affect on the entire game. Maybe even data concerning the player’s data on servers.
This is on PC. Not on the xboxs especially on xbone. Xbox one s can't even play the campaign at a steady 60 fps and you expect that console to run this game twice at the same time??
pathetic 343 shills in the comments today. YoU kNoW NOthING!!!!!!!! tell us exactly what got in the way when every other legit halo game has had this no questions asked.
@@kx7500 my guess is that the older Xbox got in the way. Microsoft is still having them support the game on 10 year old hardware that was already behind the times when it came out.
I agree about 343 needs to explain this. They make it sound like it's impossible to get working; and yet we got it working fine with a freakin glitch. Like it's basically in the game already!
343 's incompetence is astounding. The engine is still missing ambient occlusion and self shadowing on distant objects which is why it looks so flat looking across the map I. Campaign. Nkw they can't add splitscreen but yet the community glitches into their work. Lol
Take note of the fact that if you can glitch splitscreen in the game and it works with no issues, it means all the work is already done. They literally said no to splitscreen that has already been coded. These soulless corporate suits literally just didn't want to make it accessible. What does that tell you about 343? Like, its unbelievable.
I reeeaaallly hope 343 will just add the feature, we’ve already “got” it, but if 343 will just fix the issues with it and give it a go I would be very happy. If not, they don’t even know what halo is.
This does bring a smile on my face Sometimes it just feels like the leakers are trying harder to please us than 343… and I’m not quite understanding why
Bonnie Ross promised splitcreen co-op in future Halo games since Halo 5 didn't have it, they deserve to get sued and she should get fired alongside Frank O'Connor for poor management and incompetence, hurting Halo franchise throught the years.
@@hitomarusensha Technically the fact they promised split screen coop from day 1 and failed to not only deliver it on time but didn't deliver it at all can fall under the grounds of a class action for false advertising
Its sad in this day and age that we have to use glitches to use the most basic gamemode ever. Imagine saying to some kid in the 2000s that you'll have to do this sequence of steps just to play with your friends together
i get what you're saying, but if there's desync in co-op that means that co-op in infinite is vastly different than co-op from previous games. it's more akin to a dedicated LAN server running on one machine than it is just having double spawns for a p2.
Thank you so much for this, halo infinite being my first halo game I have not been able to experience the true potential of halo games, and I swear if this is patched I’m gonna sue 343
Based on all the leaks and glitches, we know now that not only are they being slow, but they're holding back more or less finished content. We know that they can make and import forge maps. Want to talk allocation of resources? They should have a forge customs dropped every month where they release one new map and one new game mode. People in the community can do this in a couple of hours. If they're seriously going to contend that it's too hard to get into the live game, then there really is no hope if something that simple eludes them. They have a gigantic pool of well over a hundred legacy maps to pull from, and at this point not a soul would complain. Very soon they'll have not a soul left to complain.
I don’t think they’ve entirely cut split screen coop but rather they’ve moved their resources to focus on multiplayer and won’t be able to ship split screen coop for the coop launch or for the foreseeable future. Probably because it seems like there is major network issues so it seems like they’re agile coding portions of the game and networking depending on certain scopes, factors or issues at play. We’ve seen this happen before. For example 343 entirely moved their resources from fixing desync to working on Coop because they probably needed to flesh out and expand the netcode to the scopes of Coop. Now that they’ve done that and they’re running into issues with split-screen they’re probably going back to multiplayer and fixing issues with desync, custom games, matchmaking, etc. One thing I noticed is that you can’t do local coop on the xbox’s. Only on pc can you do it and it opens a local server that the clients connects to on the LAN but it’s extremely buggy. (I couldn’t get it to work). So I think once they fix the custom games stuff and local hosting then they’ll go back to split-screen coop and take a shot at fixing it again.
@@petrsvancara8785 "In order to improve and accelerate ongoing live service development, and to better address player feedback and quality of life updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on local campaign split-screen co-op," Please do point out where they said they are literally canning it?? They said they aren't working on it anymore. There's a huge difference. Again you guys are angry and rightfully so. I'm pissed too. But you have to keep things into perspective. This is a video game at the end of the day.
@@fkdaybreak3626 the way I see it the community asked for more communication from 343 and they gave it to the community in the worst possible way. It didn't help that practically every single media outlet claimed that splitscreen coop is cancelled when in reality its not. It's not in active development. Now the community wouldn't be so pissed about all this is 343 showed off things that were made in forge, new maps along with some gameplay, etc but they didn't. They could've showed off the dmr and explained how it was different from the halo reach version and how it fits into the sandbox. Or the shroud screen and its potential use cases. Or the new maps. Or even the fucking forge my god that would've been amazing. Instead they thought what we asked for was 3 dudes sitting down and talking about stuff. They also didn't communicate what they're doing properly. Everything they said was behind the scenes stuff. It's the equivalent of "listen kid I'm working on it and you're too dumb to understand" and the "halo has always been a competitive game" statement didn't help their case. Imo I think 343s fault is not that they announced that they weren't working on split screen coop. But it's 200% their fault for not showing or talking about anything cool or interesting. I think the community is right to be upset but they're upset for the wrong reasons
@@petrsvancara8785 bro I literally copied what they said. They said that split screen isn't in active development. Doesn't mean it's cancelled. They're most likely optimizing and updating the engine, fixing desync and other server related issues and then work on split screen.
@@fkdaybreak3626 that is true tho. I think infinite will become a great game. Like mcc is now. It's a long road. Just like mcc the core gameplay is solid. But 343 needs to learn how to run a live service game and they're learning it the hard way unfortunately. Me personally I'm not even playing infinite atm because of all this. Season 3 is gonna be where 343 really needs to prove.
It's really obvious by now, that one of the reasons that they cancelled split screen co op, except from incompetence of course, is the limitation of the last gen consoles.. Just imagine the performance of split screen co op on the Xbox One s.. It will be horrendous... but they still could have released this feature only on the current gen consoles and PC and say due to hardware limitations of the last gen ones, this feature will be absent... because this decision in my opinion would've had less negative impact on the fanbase than the one they took now... i hope they change their minds on that...
@@dankmotionsstudios5161 I’m pretty sure that Xbox series s is readily available to buy right now… the problem is that you just don’t understand how obsolete is the last gen hardware… it’s like demanding to play cyberpunk on an i3 first gen CPU and a 10 year old gpu… it’s just not an option for these type of hardware anymore… at some point in any technology you reach its limitation and it’s time to acknowledge that and upgrade… it’s that simple…
I think as it does work on xbox 1 that's a narrative that doesn't hold weight. I think the reason is the same as why it wasn't available in H5. They will sell more copies of the game, more consoles and more game passes by not adding it.
@@FauX358 this decision had a negative impact to the community, so less people will recommend Halo to others and less people will get either game pass or buy the game... what you said doesn't make any sense.... plus if you watched DFs video only Xbox one x it's rather capable of having a 60 fps constant performance but it's not stable at all due to CPU limitations, and Xbox one 30 fps is choppy and the DRS is really aggressive, so according to numbers i'm right and you can not release split screen on Xbox One x only and leave Xbox one s behind, it's the same platform... and the fact that Xbox one x has a similar CPU with one s will have a big problem too maintaining playable fps on split screen co op... it's an obsolete technology no matter how hard you try to imply otherwise... the best decision would be to release this feature on current gen and pc only... that is the way to gain more players on game pass or buy the game instead instead of losing any good will by not releasing at all...
they will patch this, even if they don’t patch it, they update the game all the time and i wouldn’t doubt if one of the updates messes this feature up unintentionally
343: "NOOOoooo! This is TOO HAAAARD! Cancel the feature and blame the community!" The Community: "You literally didn't even bother to remove the FUNCTIONAL LOCAL SPLITSCREEN from your build..."
The sad part is it'll most likely get patched, I've noticed apart from completely fudging up the expectations we as a fan base had on this game. 343 want you to play halo the way they intended. It's funny to me because a load of things were changed without anyone saying whether or not we want em and the cherry on top is at least Bungie had the passion for Halo when it was being made and cared for. Meanwhile 343 expects us to "Understand" when the product they shafted out the door is less than ideal and act surprised or (more importantly) snarky when giving feedback about the minor add-ons no one asked for. New modes - no infection, New achievements - no local co-op. It's laughable
It's not a resource issue (they are Microsoft after all) and it's not a hardware issue (evidenced by people doing the Splitscreen glitch on the OG XboxOne). I can only conclude it's the software, as in their cobbled together 'Slipspace' engine is so broken that basic features just cannot be implemented/patched to an acceptable state with any kind of urgency. This might also explain why mission select is still not an option almost a year after launch. And and why the current loading screen is just a screenshot pasted over the launch loading screen (which itself was just a carry over from the Alpha/flights last summer). And why the game is still using alpha looking visual effects that are outclassed by games from 2007. And why desync (a known issue since the alpha/flights) is still affecting both online AND LAN games (including their own Halo Championship Series) etc. etc. Of course, 343 having no tact or respect for the franchise or its fans, won't come out and say that. Instead we hear "we're not fixing desync because we need people on coop!". And now, "we're not delivering coop because we have *checks notes* big things on the way!". 🤷♀
The fact you can do this means the feature is there, it works. This leads me to believe the reason for cutting it is money. They want to force enrollment into XBL
I find it fun that 343 has a workable split-screen co-op compain. It means that it exists and if they want to, a bare minimum of feature could be made.
No, it confirms that they want to sell more copies to people while keeping them in multiplayer to bleed their wallets dry, and that they are willing to take extreme measures to do so.
Can someone please help! It's 2024 and I am trying to do this but cannot figure out how to. The other player seems to not be online when I try and join the fireteam. Are there any fixes or other ways I can local split screen?
@@bruhSaintJohn they scrapped the entire thing permanently for a reason. Players showing how easy it is to get it to work, while they claim to not be able to (so they can work on royale) is ridiculous.
Between the Activision and Bethesda buyouts MS has more than enough shooter studios that can run circles around 343. Keep whoever is maintaining MCC and pass new Halo onto the bevy of other options.
Basically with Forge we are going to see fresh map products at a far higher rate opposed to official releases. Just like for this, split screen, perhaps they should give more control to the community which is happier to do their job despite being unpaid. A direct line of communication from 343i and a leadership community group over discord would solve a lot. The fact this glitch exists and doesn’t run glitchy makes me believe it wasn’t time or resources keeping them from releasing it.
(few weeks later) 343: "hello Halo community we decided to cut whole Halo Infinite Campaing and just straight work on competetive multiplayer side of game, thanks and fucc yu." Moral story: they didn't figured out how to patch this splitscreen glitch.
i'd be willing to bet this is a case where they COULD get splitscreen working on the PC or SeriesX/S, but are dropping it because it's unrealistic to get it running on an XboxOne, and MS doesn't want to have features missing for players on older hardware.
I'm getting sick of the Perfect Pillars they are trying to achieve. I understand Quality Assurance, but at this point I'd rather take anything and everything in 'Beta' form. If they cut splitscreen co op for slight issues, just explain the issues and launch it in Beta. I also think they should add the patch notes directly in the game. I'm not really a fan of how I have to load up Internet Explorer for anything game related. I honestly just don't understand what's going on anymore. I had so much hope and hype, but... "Then setback after setback... Loss after loss... Made what was going to be a quick and decisive win... Into five years of Hell..." I really hope I don't have to wait 5 years.
couldn't they say "this feature won't work on xbox one? like it's a 9 year old console i don't think splitting feature between the two is that unjustifiable...
Since Split Screen for Multiplayer is 2-Player on Last Gen and the full 4-Player in Current Gen, my logic told me Split Screen Campaign Co-op would be for the latter only since the beginning. Surprised I was when I heard they would do it for *all* Consoles. And so disappointing to hear they're now saying it's been cancelled for *all* Consoles.
I’m 99% sure that “reallocating resources” means developing more things to monetize for the battle pass. 343 is prioritizing making a mediocre live service than making a good Halo game.
They're deliberately giving the middle finger to the community. I can't think of any other explanation. This is just bizarre. It's like some giant social experiment, where the ones in on it are instructed to always, *ALWAYS* do the *EXACT OPPOSITE* of what's rational, so that the users' reactions can be recorded to see how many will uncritically go along with it.
Question does this really work the video was a little too fast and the transcript disappeared on my phone I need the easiest way in layman's terms how to get this thing to work or just playing give up thank you
So much of the conversation around the cut features and delays is so disingenuous, it really makes me think that even if 343 had delayed Infinite another year and launched with all of this stuff people would still get mad. There's a lot of complaints about radio silence and lack of content and missing features but when timelines are given, non-core content is cut so more focus can go to the bigger issues, and delays are made to give a more polished experience, suddenly these things become huge problems. I've seen people clamouring for forge to be released now so they have something to chew on, yet complaining when features feel unfinished. The whole community feels really toxic and angry instead of enjoying the positives of the game and criticising in a way that isn't "company bad".
Because the wider halo community has become a shell of it's former self. They'll blame 343 like always whether they're to blame or not. Even if another studio took over and handed the halo community what it wanted it will never be enough. Anger is addicting.
I agree that a vocal portion of the community is really toxic, and definitely overreacts to anything short of 100% positive news. However I think it's absolutely valid to both criticise a lack of communication and the content of the communication you finally get. Personally the reason I'm so critical, although I try not to be toxic about it, is that I'm worried for the game. I'm not a fan of the model personally, but a live service game lives or dies on maintaining an active playerbase. And once that playerbase is lost, it's very hard to rebuild it. I feel the glacial pace of content, months without anything other than cosmetics to announce, very slow balance and bug fixes, and numerous deadlines missed by months, are all ways to hemorrhage players. If Forge and coop do launch in November as planned, I hope there'll still be a playerbase to retain, and I hope that'll be enough to keep people interested. I love this game, it absolutely should be enjoyed by as many people as possible, and I want it to be around for years to come. But with the way it's currently being handled, I can't see how that could happen. And the fault there lies with 343 and/or Microsoft.
It’s because the game should have been released with all of this. Almost every single other Halo did. 343 is just an incompetent company that has failed at the one thing they were literally created for, every single time they tried. It’s time for 343 to die and let the Halo IP exist under a company that actually gives a fuck about the game.
Honestly, I would have preferred they had delayed Infinite for an additional year and got the pieces perfect, rather than hitting Marketing's target release date.
Halo 5 introduced an INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS glitch which allowed players to mash different any two guns into a Frankenstein creation using a weapon pad. Infinite Spartan lasers, needler shotguns, sniper-round pistols, you name it. 343 decided to not patch it out because the community loved it, and the glitch remains in the game to this day. If the community latches onto this co-op glitch and the developers patch it out, their motivations will be pretty clear.
This def works but something important that isn’t clear. To get this to work you need a separate account that is on another Xbox/PC logged into halo. That person is who u r joining. Then u add in ur friends that are on your Xbox. Start the custom game and the other person gets dropped and u and ur friends on ur Xbox will start the campaign. Some weirdness one of our guys had a bunch of his items already upgraded partially. Like upgraded grapple hook and sensor. In the end def works takes a bit to do though.
Only reason they won't let you use it officially is because the Xbox cannot hold sixty FPS and they have some agree ment with Microsoft saying Xbox and pc have to have the same features
If the modding community ever got access into the game. They would do a better job than 343. Sadly the modders wouldn't be getting paid for their work. They would definetly get more done in 3 months than 343 ever will in a year.
343: "Honestly, we couldn't make it work on the VCR Xbox One, but we're too scared to just cancel it for that group of people and only develop it for Series/PC. Also our engine is made of Yogurt, and the more content we add, the more we need to go back and fix the engine that still isn't in a stable state yet. Hell, the 2 upcoming maps are being made with our Forge Dev Tools because our engine is too slow. We probably should have stuck to UE4 like planned. Oh well, not like we waisted 7+ years dev time, a year of marketing sponsorships advertising a delayed product, 500+ million dollars so far & and a concurrent playerbase of about 200 people for a free-to-play game". Bonnie Ross, the world's greatest studio head. Always failing up.
I was honestly pleased and hopeful with 343's announcements the other day, but how they respond to this glitch will determine whether or not I still have hope for this game. Please do not screw this up 343.
if they do patch it we gotta call em out on diverting resources, their own words were we cancled coop campaign bc it was taking away from other stuff, so if they do patch it theyd b completly contradicting themselves
I think the reason it isn't included is the same as why it wasn't available in H5. They will sell more copies of the game, more consoles and more game passes by not adding it. Well they think that anyway.
I’m pretty sure that 343 will add back split screen because it is such an important feature of halo and fans are having to do this so I’m sure they just took it off to fix some major issue that we haven’t found yet but 343 did.
The "issue" 343 faced is that they want more people to buy the game & they'd rather try in vain to have all the money in the world & just end up losing money in the process than please their fans & actually make an impressive amount of money. Basically, they're taking a page from EA like they always do.
