Happy (late) St. Patrick's Day everyone, and welcome back to another Halo 3 campaign mod showcase! In this video, we will be checking out another custom Halo 3 campaign, (basically Guardian forest, but not focused on the guardian) focusing on the events that are happening on The Ark while the Master Chief is in High Charity. This is Forerunner Forest, created by Just Alex!

a bit of Just Alex's invented context: the shipmaster deployed some elites to explore the forest where the Aegis fate frigate was last seen. some marines explore the area in the sky to try to find it but get shut down and later killed by the green monitor. some sentinels aren´t friendly because they are under the control of the monitor of the ark (tragic solitude) which was released by some elites when the raid to the citadel started but betrayed them when he discovered that they were going to destroy the ark.
new mechanics:
elites have infinite uses active camo
elites can use the flashlight
banshee has been edited to behave like in odst.
flood drive vehicles
portals (kinda)
some easter eggs
light is really dark, because it´s night time

friendly banshee (green banshee)
to make this mod Just Alex checked the wiki, some ideas that they used are that the state of the aegis fate frigate (the one in Sandtrap) was missing and placed it in the mission as a crashed frigate. The monitor of the ark was limited and could´t help to much to stop the flood, this was why we don´t se most of the sentinel types in halo 3.
Overall, I think this was a very fun mod! I know a lot of us, myself included, wondered what the original cut Guardian Forest level would play like, and I think this custom campaign scratches that itch with a twist. The atmosphere is great, the combat is fun, and overall this feels like a very fun mission to play. Give it a try when you get a chance!
