Best part of reach was the giant forge map. My brother and i would set up a seige game mode with our friends where half of us would defend the main land and the other half would attack in air assault waves
Without the 360's hardware restrictions, I can see that kind of thing really coming to life more with MCC's forge. I should find something like that to put in the map rotation.
Halo Reach did loadouts right by instead of player custom it was determined by the match and gave players a choice of suboptimal loadouts they could upgrade by pick ups.
I'll fully admit, I found your channel as you are the voice of our favorite Captain-General. Came for Kitten stayed for ThunderPsyker. Loved your videos on Dawn of War but I knew I was bound to stay when I saw your Reach video. I really hope with this new focus on the channel that you truly continue to grow. Can't wait to see more.
Red Alert 2, 40K, Crash Bandicoot references and soundtrack, funny cast, hilarious moments and well edited? Getting Boreale Cast vibes from this..... I love it. It's a good thing I stayed with this channel for more the past seven years.
Thanks for stopping by! These are just some antics I wanted to share in between making bigger videos. As I mention at the beginning, I'm gonna host another one of these in the new year! Keep an eye out on RU-vid Community and my Twitter for what time I'll be hosting the game night, and make sure to install Reach and Halo 3 on your MCCs in time! twitter.com/ThunderPsyker Also god damn it I meant to say this footage was from JULY 2023 and not from January 2023. January 2024 is when I'm hosting the next one! Dunno how I missed that. Gotta give a huge thanks to PancreasNoWork for stopping by as well! www.youtube.com/@pancreasnowork9939 If you'd like to support me and be a part of more frequent game nights, hosted on different games, consider supporting me on Patreon or becoming a Channel Member! www.patreon.com/ThunderPsyker Or if you'd like to just drop a one-time donation, I also have a Ko-Fi! ko-fi.com/thunderpsyker
4:09 - Elites are the Gargoyles (yes, the Disney cartoon) of Halo. 1) Some reptilian features (although Gargoyles are egg-laying mammals); 2) significant superhuman strength; 3) tactics relying on combination of strength and toughness with agility, skill and occasional stealth; 4) warrior culture; 5) clan-based society; 6) children are commonly raised not by biological parents; 7) alliances with other species in which they become a dedicated elite warrior species-caste, which result in their culture being diluted/suppressed, and which occasionally end very badly for them. And Arby shares Keith David's voice with the main character of Gargoyles - Goliath, as well as the following traits: 1) both are introduced to us with a catastrophic failure to safeguard something important (for Goliath - his clan, for Arbiter - the ring), and are blamed for their failure by others even though it's not actually their fault; 2) both suffer a major betrayal and lose practically everything except for their lives; 3) both manage to bounce back and become great heroes; 4) both fight side-by-side with a human comrade-in-arms who over time becomes somewhat more than merely a situational comrade-in-arms (although Arbiter and Chief's relationship goes as far as Goliath and Elisa's only in certain kinds of fanfics); 5) this relationship are a key reason why, despite previous hostilities and remaining distrust, both advocate for cooperation between their species and humans; 6) and this advocacy causes significant ire of some other members of their species, going as far as assassination attempts. I may have given this too much thought.
Oh my goodness this is so perfect, really great seeing these funny antics again (and some I missed!) I'm definitely gonna throw down on the 6th, looking forward to it! The Hologram killcounter is gold. (Well to be more accurate it looks like I missed most of it but I had so much fun.) PS: I typed this before I was even halfway through the video, and I swear the shotgun warcrime comment in the trench segment made me spit out my tea. This whole video was a riot from start to finish. This one's gonna giveme quite the chuckle for a long time to come.
In a Snipers match I once spammed hologram to the same spot and the enemy team just started to ignore it. So I actually ran out and no one shot me! Got four kills before someone noticed! That and the Armor Lock Emp and standing up to face the direction you’re looking was a riot in Big Field Battles!
Thanks Thunder, been waiting for this! Can't wait to get through it and will make sure to be free for the next session 😁 P.S. thanks for showing my first round victory 👍
Drive or die is my jam. I’d recommend that. Also not to blow my own bugle, but I claim to be the greatest trench warfare player ever born (that is definitely NOT self proclaimed and do not look it up because it’s all lies). Fighting in the trenches and showing the continent what for is in a Brits blood.
Raziel_Martelus96 here... I owe Adiross an apology... and thunder a pistol round to the back of the head .... 10/10, would commit war crimes with a shotgun and play on Sword Base again
I'll most likely be posting an invite link to a temporary Discord for the event through RU-vid Community and Twitter earlier in the day. Currently I'm thinking it'll be at 6pm British Standard Time, but in case that has to change, I'll give an exact time closer to the date!
2:55 the radar is an anti-fun mechanic and incentivizes hiding and crouching in a corner let me outmaneuvre people damnit. also precision weapon playlists killed Halo. give me assault rifle+pistol start or give me death Halo Reach has waaay too many campaign levels turned into ''multiplayer maps'' those are unplayable
Honestly? I mostly agree with those other two points. I think the DMR is way too powerful to be a starter weapon and I was always disappointed that most of the basegame multiplayer maps were just re-purposed from the campaign (or other way around, I suspect) Makes a tonne of sense from a development perspective but I find it a shame
@@ThunderPsyker Was just rambling a bit but yeah.. Halo Reach on PC lost like 99% of players after the first month. Literally, check steamcharts from back then. Mouse and keyboard precision weapon starts can really destroy the game. BTB especially, those singleplayer maps have no flow and can end up with one team just lining up playing ''DMR Peekaboo'' spawnkilling the other team. Invasion is fun but doesn't feel big enough. It's like a very sanitized attack and defend mode, not enough chaos and fun stuff. The smaller modes ain't so bad. But then you have sprint, jetpack, armor lock etc. I like the idea of having these but they get kinda annoying after a while, feels like the maps weren't designed for them. I love your videos cat man :)
