Huge apologies for the video being so late friendos, ran into just about every technical issue in the book, BUT NONETHELESS I AM HAPPY - HALO IS BACK ON THE MAP!!! THE GREAT REVIVAL HAS BEGUN, AND WE WERE ALL HERE TO WITNESS THE GREAT JOURNEY TO IT!
i'm having horrible rubber banding issues the game worked fine on the first day and then everything went down hill, they really need to let us change regions so i don't play in a US server when i'm in UK -_- and there's also a bug on some missions where some models are all black during the campaign
@Nathan Martinez I don't get why everyone said that, just because of a change, something new? I was blown away with Halo Reach, made the other games dwarfed to me. It was the shit! New armor and equipment was amazing,
They would say like me: this is the beginning and amazing so far, but dont get too excited now. These were all Bungie games, except for 4. Granted 343 has been better as of late, but halo infinite will tell the tru story
v Message I saved to myself in case I ever forget why I unsubbed just now so I don't make the mistake of resubbing later. Bye. He was wearing rose-tinted glasses in a lot of his videos, but the tipping point were his blatantly, overwhelmingly biased lies in the video below, claiming that MCC's PC launch was LITERALLY flawless, LITERALLY perfect in every single way possible. Ignoring the facts that: the input lag is so severe in online co-op for everyone but the host that it makes the game unplayable for them, it's normal for it to take 10+ minutes just to find a single match, matchmaking pairing people with others thousands of miles away for no good reason (sometimes even on different CONTINENTS, not just countries) thereby creating unnecessary lag in matches, the horrible audio issues/terribly muffled sounds, 343i lying about that being fixed after the last flight but pre-launch which apparently wasn't true at all, no server browser, no community-hosted servers, the official (see: only) servers sometimes shitting themselves/being unstable as hell, the painfully slow cosmetic unlock system, and you just KNOW they're going to pull an Activision/CTR/CoD by adding in microtransactions once all the positive reviews are in ("pay to speed up the grind! we artificially created a problem just to sell you the solution!"), no theater nor forge at launch, BOTH of which a handful of modders got working over the span of a single flight, showing that 343i is, as always, jaw-droppingly incompetent, no preload (even half life had this in 2001, nearly 20 years ago!) easy anti-cheat and the false bans that always come with that broken piece of garbage, countless people not being able to launch the game at all or randomly crashing - the list goes on and on and on.
Anon Ymous lmao yet you still bought the game even with all these “issues”. Not to mention you knew exactly what you were getting: Reach with forge to come later. Xperia did not lie, everything that needed to be done was. The major bugs from the last flight were fixed, except for audio which comparatively is not as big of an issue. Even then, they told the community this, so why are you upset? If you’re not currently happy with the state of the game, don’t play it and don’t buy it. Instead of being like “reeee 343i lied” how about you look for bugs and report them on Waypoint. Act like you give a shit about the game, you might as well since you own it. As for “input lag in coop”, I’ve yet to see anyone with that issue. Not to mention how I’ve only seen a handful of disconnects and zero random bans that haven’t been reversed. If this is a “broken piece of garbage” then how do you manage to play literally any other AAA game nowadays? Just curious. Also those matchmaking issues have fixes and even then the issues themselves are so extraordinarily rare for anyone living in Europe or NA. If you live in Asia or Oceania then that makes sense, but then again that happens all the time in those regions for other games and Oceania connections are notoriously shit anyways. So if you live in those regions your points are as dull as a stick. The progression system is not a grind. If you want a grind, go play the original reach lmao. To be honest, i chuckled when you made that point because of how idiotic it is. And yes, 343 has said it’s subject to change in the future but they cannot risk the fallout from adding microtransactions and it likely won’t come. Again, just goes to show how much you know about 343 and the state of MCC. The preload isn’t an issue considering how small the download is. Sure, it’s odd for a AAA game not to do that but I’ve yet to see you give concessions to 343 for making it their first PC release so I’m just going to throw your argument for that in the pile of the other ignorant things you’ve said. And like someone said before, it really does sound like you’re running it off a potato.
There were some places in halo 4 that made me cringe. This instance was great, but the final line didn’t need to include “about being a machine” that made me cringe too hard
I'm also having crazy stuttering issues due to Xbox game bar. Turning it off fixes it most of the time, but sometimes it just turns back on by itself. Other than that and some audio issues it's been relatively smooth. Edit: when you reply to the wrong comment. Classic. I'll just leave this here...
To be honest they probably did it for Motivation to Play the Multiplayer A lot and to make the Campaign more Replayable as having a Different Design of Spartan Is more fun than Just Playing over and over with the same one
The coop is sometimes unplayable though, has anyone else experienced that? Massive input delay for the guest, almost like playing on stadia. A really weird way to handle lag tbh, most games don't do that.
Yeah, this would be one of my main gripes with it, it's odd just how smooth fire fight and multiplayer are, and then coop campaign just habe anyone who isn't the host lag the fuck out. They need to fix that, there's also the fact that, while the servers run really well, you need to grab them, 60% of the time the game just telll you to fuck off because you're ping's too high, no it's not, when you let me play everything's super smooth, no lag, so no, my ping's fine, let me play dammit.
its a great feeling playing BTB king of the hill all day somehow a decade later!! Progression system blows but eh cant win em all. Now a real win would be the Bandana skull across all games! I really hope Infinite just strives to be a good game that can actually stand with bungie's Halos. Instead of simply trying to squeeze my wallet dry. Its great having Halo back in everyones mind again
Progression systems isn't all that bad though. Considering the original game had a weekly XP cap in place to throttle progress. Also from my understanding, the battlepass doesn't expire, so if players want to take a year break, and then come back, they can pick up progress right were they left off. It's not like other games' battle passes, where the pass goes away after a certain time frame, and players are locked out of that content for good. Sure it's not ideal, as I would much rather the option to pick and choose what unlocks I want 1st, but it's not bad IMO.
Kabal82 yeah its not the worst but man having to earn my mark V helmet again at level 60 is ROUGH. Buck's voice at 81! throughout the pass theres so much filler. helluva grind, but its not old reach true. Id say since this is the second time though the patience I had in the glory days is plain gone
i mean the new progression system is literally one of the worst things about this new release of halo that and the fact its missing a bunch of content that was/is present on the original xbox version
Ironic given the fact that back in 2010, people were preaching how Reach "Killed'' Halo. Yeah many of us have not forgotten those dark days of the fandom. How times have changed.
Rishav Roy Halo Reach used to Kill Competitive Play now it Kills Casual play. And There Are a lot more casuals than Competitives also the Graphics update isn’t very much
I’m so glad they finally added this to the MCC because I got my Xbox 360 when Halo 4 came out so i never got a chance to play Reach as a kid when all of my friends would talk about it. Now i finally have that chance :’)
Oh same, I fortunately got enough snow on Tuesday to have my circuits lab canceled just in time launch day, but I have a lab report that's currently 5 days late and final project due Monday that I have yet to even start, but here I am playing Halo Reach on PC. I should really be studying for Calc 3 cause I have no idea what's going on in that class and I want to keep my good gpa up, but It's a serious struggle to not play Halo now that it's out on pc.
Spartans never die, they’re just missing in action. And yet, I won’t ever play that mission again. I can’t bring myself to doing it. I played it once, during initial launch/ campaign completion, but that ending was a heart crusher. Reminds me of those who gave all during my deployment to the sandbox. Poetic ending, sure, but... Fuck that mission. Forever. 😭
The community: How are you going to build up hype for a nearly 2 decade old series? How will it be able to outperform already established games? How will the servers perform? 343: *yes*
@@YourFavoriteCommie Modding allows people to get through this horrific content drought without losing interest, and make sure that people are tided over until Infinite.
Noooo way. Voting is gone for a reason. In original Reach everyone picked the same few maps. Now I get to play them all, and experience game types that no one would vote for because they were boring and just wanted Slayer on Hemorrhage AGAIN. No voting is PERFECT.
@Jin Lee I sort of like veto systems, but id rather just get into matches quick than bother with a system like that. It works, it just slows things down.
* 2010 (start of the decade) * Halo: _Reach launches_ Fanbase: I don't like this * 2019 (end of the decade) * Halo: _MCC launches on PC_ Fanbase: "This is the start of The Great Journey"
I'm a tad dissapointed that they booted the Credits system for Reach; I never got to play Reach back in the day on Xbox 360 so I was honestly looking forward to a grind. Not a deal-breaker, but still, Reach's old progression system is something that would be right up my alley. The audio issues are pretty noticable at times, *_but_* for what its worth, audio issues being the game's biggest problem are a godsend compared to what happened with MCC's Xbox One launch
Powerhouse616 mostly what I want to return is a set of armor like recon was before being available to everyone (given out by developers individually) and a set of armor unlocked like how it was after. Having to do something extremely difficult throughout multiple games.
Henry McBark well I’m happy it became a regular armor piece. Maybe not handed to everyone tho. It would be great if they created a new set of armor that’s what I said before. Laso challenges like the halo 3 & ODST. Maybe halo 4,5,wars2, and infinite. extremely hard challenges that you have to complete.
"It runs smooth" tbh I think they still need to fix their bad optimizations for certain computer setups because it's a problem for me and couple other people..
@@randgrithr7387 my main problem is that the fact it would keep having frame problems by dropping randomly from 60ish to 30ish frames, causing bad stutters in gameplay and audio wise. And even others have reported the same problem even if they would have a 1070 with 8-16 ram and a pretty good CPU. It's so bad. Idk what kind of bug or problem it would be doing this but they have to fix it.
@@elitecat7714 Nvidia, I haven't turned on my frame counter but it runs perfectly fine for me with vsync and FPS limiter off. I forgot to add I only play singleplayer so that might have something to do with it too
I’ll be honest, there are some issues I have with MCCs launch I think to call it flawless is sweeping some of the problems under the rug. - The matchmaking UI still feels a bit clunky in that backing out of a search feels very difficult if not impossible at times. - Crouching on mouse and keyboard feels very off, (admittedly 343 has acknowledged this and is “looking into it” but as of current the system only allows you to crouch only when you are walking or standing still, and as keyboard can only run... welll, there’s your problem) -The new unlock system, while it’s nice it is less of a grind, lets be honest, it’s a glorified CoD level up system with extra steps where you spend season points on a linear tree. It removed everything that was good about Reach’s original system where you could unlock several new armors in whatever order you wanted when you hit certain rank milestones. Not to mention, there are quite a lot of levels in this season system that feel like “filler” levels, especially the levels with only elite armor unlocks or only firefight voices. -The lack of map voting. This one honestly feels huge to me because the amount of times that I and friends got stuck searching matches and only playing the same two maps was actually staggering and it has ignited a hatred for one certain map in particular. (I’m looking at you and your low gravity center, Condemned) -This last one is less related to MCC in general and is perhaps more of a personal thing but goodness the DMR pisses me off like no other when trying to play maps with nothing but sightlines such as hemorrhage since now players can more easily snipe at long distance with less bloom
having a blast with pc reach honestly one of the few things i wish the game had was earning XP in the campaign been having fun going for par scores and times on legendary but I also want the armor
Halo 5s forge was an absolute triumph that I don’t feel got enough attention Let’s not forget the accomplishments in H5’s forge as we go into Halo infinite (Off topic post is off topic but I had an urge to say this for some reason)
Flawlessly my ass, they said that it'll "be ready when its ready" then released it with tons of problems like the shitty audio mixing that they said multiple times before that it was gonna be fixed and its still dogshit.
@@notbigbadhuffnpuff2034 They did say that will persist some time after launch. It's been a few days since it dropped, they are taking notes to roll a patch out either before or after Christmas. Have patience my friend. Might not have been flawless for everyone, but my god it has brought back more people than you can imagine.
@@ItG8823 Yeah I was thinking the same thing when I started to get like 20-30 armor pieces unlocked. It's really really sweet when you actually start to unlock the armor you want though. FeelsOkayMan
Hey Xperia! I had an idea for how they could potentially put GRD into Reach, would love to hear your thoughts. So you mentioned in your video that it's important for 343 to keep player retention high and to add new content often. What if they decided to make GRD a community event/challenge where the entire community has to work together to progress and complete challenges? At different milestones, they could award everyone with nameplates or maybe different pieces of armor, with the final milestone being GRD. I think that would be a great way to bring everyone together and keep players coming back. Just my idea though! I thought it sounded fun.
My issues as of late: -Crouching cannot be done without stopping -Multiple keys cannot be bound to the same command (Scroll wheel weapon swap is dysfunctional for this reason) -I've had one freeze in four days. Not bad tbh -Input lag can persist if you don't cap your FPS to 60 -Some people are having issues playing multiplayer with a VPN active Honestly, for the first PC port of a console developer, this is a really short list of complaints. All in all very happy to see Halo on Steam. Just sad that TB didn't live to see this day.
I wish there was a option to filter out the DMR starting weapon in social. I prefer AR/pistol in most game modes. The DMR is simply too powerful at all ranges and even against vehicles. It makes the game braindead if it is a starting weapon. I have no problem with it being a pickup weapon though of course.
@@liamdanks4742 What about it? The battle rifle in halo 3 wasn't as powerful. It doesn't have the same range, it is not a hitscan weapon and it doesn't destroy vehicles with no effort. Same with the halo 1 pistol. DMR starts are pretty casual in comparison.
Never seen this channel, almost clicked out, but then... Legendary Toby Maguire "Pizza Time" and suddenly, I have a few minutes to spare. Toby, the true hero, if only we could get Toby in Halo it would be a complete game.
I wish that in the next season, season two, we would see the release of Halo CE on the MCC for steam. And then season three being Halo 2, and season four being Halo 3. And with the addition of that Halo 3, we could customize our armor with the individual pieces being interchangeable, and then same with Halo 4. I personally love the EOD helmet with ODST, big bulky,
forced AA, Insane campaign network lag even for local coop, black screen bug, matchmaking bans for finishing games, capped xp, linear unflexible progression system. I could go on and on. Yeah it sure is a saving grace.
We started the decade with Reach, and we’re ending it with Reach. We will remember the hero’s that gave their lives not only defending earth and all her colonies, but also in order to ensure this franchise stays afloat until Infinite arrives. Hero’s may be forgotten, but Reach will not.
hope they fix the k/d bug, deaths count as deaths as normal but kills count as both kills and deaths the more positive you go the worse it is for your k/d, worked really hard to get it where it is and it's kind of heartwrenching
I first started playing Halo in late 2011 with Reach at a friends house. We all splitscreened and had a lot of fun. Of course we got Halo 4 and well we all know what happened there. Even though my friends stopped playing Halo, I kept playing again once MCC first released. Yes it had problems but for some inexplicable reason, being able to play the previous Halo's that I never played before made me fall in love with this franchise. I wanted to play Halo 5 with friends when it came out but it didn't have splitscreen so there wasn't much of us playing together. I don't know why but, even though my friends and I had pretty much the same experience with Halo, I kept playing even through the fall from grace and my friends quit playing. I don't know what made me keep coming back and believing that Halo will return stronger than ever. And now for the first time in so many years I'm playing with my friends again and I hope that only increases in 2020 with the rest of MCC releases on PC and of course Halo Infinite.
Microsoft: "The Council decided to have you hung by your entrails and your corpse paraded through the city. But, ultimately, the terms of your execution are up to me." MCC: "I am already dead." Microsoft: "Indeed. Do you know where we are?" MCC: "The Mausoleum of Bungie." Microsoft: "Quite so. Here rests the vanguard of the Great Journey. Every Halo, from first to last. Each one created and consumed in times of extraordinary crisis." 343: "The Taming of the franchise, the CoD Rebellion ... Were it not for Bungie, Halo would have broken long ago!" MCC: "Even on my knees I do not belong in their presence." Microsoft: "Halo's destruction was your error and you rightly bear the blame. But the Council was... overzealous. We know you are no heretic. This is the true face of heresy, one who would subvert our faith and incite rebellion against the High Council." (Microsoft presses a button on his chair, and a miniature hologram of EA appears.) EA: “Our Prophets are false! Open your eyes, my brothers! They would use the faith of our forefathers to bring ruin to us all! The Great Journey is--" (Microsoft cuts off the hologram.) Microsoft: "This heretic, and those who follow him, must be silenced." 343: "Their slander offends all who walk the Path." MCC: "What use am I? I can no longer command Halo, lead gamers into battle--" Microsoft: "Not as you are, no. But become Reach... And you shall be set loose against this heresy, with our blessing." Reach PC: What would you have your Arbiter do?
"Could not have gone any better" 1. No forge yet 2. Wonky frame pacing above 60 3. Matchmaking issues on launch 4. Minimalist graphics options 5. AO bugs 6. No motion blur option at all 7. 4x Anisotropic filtering unless forced through NV control panel 8. POOR AUDIO mastering Oof! That being said overall it's great XD
I played for 10 hours straight on Friday and 12 hours yesterday (with a break because of a bug). I'm actually addicted to it. It's just as fun as I remember, and I haven't even touched custom games yet!
Yeah wtf, did he forgot about the fact that the audio is much lower quality than it originally was on 360, for example? That has most certainly NOT been fixed yet, and that's definitely something that could've gone better...
All those years of playing Reach because I had the Halo itch... All those years of playing the same game waiting for something good to happen to Halo. All those years and I was waiting for Reach this whole time and it feels like a brand new game. It's incredibly refreshing. If this didn't happen then I probably would have gave up playing video games. And I honestly forgot what it felt like to be excited to play video games until Reach dropped on MCC. If it keeps progressing like this then I'll be super excited for Infinite to drop. *Fingers crossed* I. Love. It.
Halo's great journey has never fallen, This decade it took a little break, But the next decade is going to mean new hope for the Halo Franchise. And Halo Reach on pc is the preview of what we get to see in the next decade.
Another reason this launch will go successfully is because all the new players get to start with the superior TU settings, as well as all the DLC many didnt play back in the day due to poor dlc implementation back in those days. Also, no voting means we actually get to experience all the content, as opposed to everyone just playing a couple map/type combos. Im having a blast, and i didnt like reach mp that much back in the day.
Honestly halo reach is so nostalgic for me. Back when I didn't have a PC I would play it religiously. Everyone that was a hardcore halo fan didn't like the game when it came out, strangely. I think that it was a bit too innovative at the time and fandoms rarely like change which is why it was badly received by the older fan base. Now? Halo Reach is seen as a master piece.
Im just waiting on Halo 2 and 3 for PC.. Ima make some weird shit. Edit: Halo infinite better be original and not too much with halo 5. Take notes on either Halo 2 or Halo reach
@@bakubaka4482 considering what we saw after the ring left hyper space, then yea. I'd say they have some work cut out for them to make it tie into Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2.
What really excites me about MCC PC is the option to start up with the anticheat disabled. Being able to boot that mode up and run into crazy modded stuff could be amazing
What are you talking about? Myself and multiple people have had game-breaking issues. Stuttering, input delay, server lag, crashes (one friend of mine even had BSOD). "Could not have gone any better". It most certainly could have. With that said, it's great that it's gone better than it could have gone and I'm sure they'll squash the remainder of the the bugs swiftly.
As great as it is to have Halo: Reach on PC, I think a lot of you are exaggerating this situation beyond the brink. Let me reiterate: I'm as glad as anyone else to finally have the original Halo games coming to PC (even though CE and 2 already have releases of their own) but before we all start preaching about the franchise's 'revival', let's just hope that 343 are capable of producing some quality and original additions to the series first. They've shown us before that they're fully capable of respecting the original games as products of their own, but so far I think most of us can still agree that their contributions to the continuity have been debatable in regards to quality, to say the least. In order to 'revive' the franchise, they're going to need to do a lot more than port games that are already universally renowned; they need to bring out something new. Something good.
New-ish player here! I've played ce on pc a really long time ago and a bit of halo 3 on my friend's xbox when i was a kid, but apart from that, nothing. Your channel got me really interested in halo lore and as a result, pretty damn excited for mcc. I already knew basically what happens and how most of noble team died in reach, but playing it for the first time was pretty damn fun. Gonna play it again on heroic and legendary later on. Multiplayer is pretty hard (thanks to all you sweaty halo nerds knowing everything about it) but pretty damn fun. I've been playing css/csgo for almost a decade and overwatch for around 4 months straight now and there's no complaints about reach's movement and aiming here. The aiming actually feels a little better than csgo/overwatch. It feels... Faster, maybe? Like it has slightly less input lag perhaps. I suggested this to my overwatch main friend and he got pretty damn mad lol. I'm on a potato pc and the game runs really nicely. I've only got a few complaints: 1. I don't remember the battle rifle being this weak. I'm always using it in campaign but in multiplayer, it feels almost useless. The assault rifle is even worse, idk why they even put that in the game tbh. 2. I get those audio glitches you were talking about, but only voice lines in the campaign cutscenes. They're often delayed by like 2-8 seconds or don't play at all. The only reason I know something should've been playing is because the subtitles showed up. If I remember correctly, that cutscene right after kat gets shot was really bad for this. Either that or one of the ones just before that. I remember a lot of red (glow from the glassing) and civilians crying about different things. 3. Sometimes after playing for a while, I can't access the customisation menus. I can hear the sound effects from hovering over things and clicking on them, but I can't see anything because my entire screen is covered by what looks like a loading screen, iirc. 4. I haven't looked up the locations for the datapads yet so maybe I'm just a dumbass but I only found one of them during the campaign (right at the beginning), despite me exploring most areas as much as I could. Maybe they're missing? Can't wait for ce, 2 and 3!
I agree, but honestly a shitty progression system is better than no progression system at all like in the old MCC, i stopped playing multiplayer totally for that reason, I just didn't feel the need or drive to.
WOW HiddenXperia showed my Pizza Cursors mod in a video! It feels amazing to be recognized by my favorite RU-vidr for replacing the cursor with a slice of pizza! holy shit
