That historians note had me hooked, I LOVED Hunt The Truth! It’s what got me into listening to the audiobooks to begin with.

Haha, I find it funny how the first mention of her augmentations they down play it as overexaggerated rumors lol. She was quite literally a DC level super being so I'm quite happy to see her brought down a level. Makes it much more viable to see her in future stories which I'm all for.

I won’t lie, I got a rush of both stress and nostalgia upon hearing Hunt the truth musical queue. This might be my personal favourite chronicle so far. My only caveat would be that given the anthology format these stories It makes me wonder if and when we might get any kind of continuation of this plotline. Cus I really wanna see more.

A bunch of memories came to me while listenting to it: reading the Halo Initiation comics, learning about the true purpose of the Spartan IV program, the fight between Palmer and Zane, and we even got to know about the first renegade Spartan: Vladimir Scruggs. I really liked Ilsa Zane, she already had enough potential in the comics and now that she is the first confirmed Spartan that works for the Banished, I would love to see her story continue. She's now a true menace to the UNSC, even for Spartans. I'm a real believer that this should be explored in the games. This story was just amazing. This is why I love Halo

[Lore Info] Subject: Ilsa Zane Was inducted as part of the prototypical phase of the Spartan IV program; this early iteration of the program sought to make it's candidates physiologically more capable than even a Mjolnir Armored Spartan of the previous generations. The procedures while potent were ultimately deemed to be a failure as 9 out of the 10 subjects were killed while the only survivor Ilsa Zane was rendered mentally unstable. She was subsequently brought into the ONI folds before her defection to the New Colonial Alliance (Insurrectionist). Her forces staged an infiltration of the UNSC Infinity in the days leading up to it's official inauguration, but was foiled thanks to the efforts of Sarah Palmer and her Spartan IV cohorts. As of this waypoint chronicle we know she has aligned herself with the Banished were she serves as a spartan hunter and killer.

The Halo Evolutions incorporations are so cool, I was just re-reading Stomping on the heels of a fuss and re-watching “The Return” yesterday.

Who is the voice actor they do exceptional work.

I feel like Halo is becoming like 40K, where all the really cool stuff happens in books and lore drops instead of in the actual game (granted 40K is a tabletop RPG first so it's a bit different, but you get my point). A banished spartan would be such a cool boss battle, especially one that canonically is an absolute beast.

A cool novel. I liked it despite all the odds of this new lore. Even the character of the "Banished Spartan" is somehow interesting despite all. It reminds me of the tv series "Marco Polo" when Marco Polo was "introduced" to the court of the great Khan... Yeah that's exactly what it feels like now the Banished. And it seems it works just fine.

Can't say I'm too happy about tying the NCA with the Banished, honestly- I always held a special place in my heart for Venezia, Gao, and those other worlds who managed to keep their independence from the UNSC's nigh-authoritarian rule, walking their own path. The Insurrectionists always had legitimate grievances with how the UNSC/UEG treated the outer colonies, so seeing them reduced to what feels like auxiliaries for another interstellar empire is a bummer. As a faction, they were always more interesting as a wildcard, even with how often authors used them as a punching bag. On a completely different note, at least this alliance has brought about DIY Spartans as a thing in canon, so, silver linings, I guess. From the Conqueror helmet description in Infinite: "The CONQUEROR is a Venezian fusion of Covenant and UNSC technologies made possible by massive infusions of Banished resources and stolen information. Their operators are home-grown super-soldiers eager for plunder and victory."

The narration is ok but Id love all these Chronicles to be compiled on audible with different narrators to buy.

Not going to lie, when i first heard the Banished Spartan, I thought it was the dumbest thing you could do, assuming that it was one of the Spartan IV survivors of the Infinity or the AI from the season cutscenes somehow controlling their mind via implants or something But the fact that it's Ilsa Zane.....okay, story wise I'm game. Not playing Infinite though, you guys fucked that up for me. better luck next game.

These would be so much more interesting if we got a small Animation with them, or at least something like we see in The Mona, Lisa or headhunters.

Is cool to have this type of extension of halo lore, but why do that when you have your main game abandoned. No new weapons (No spiker for a banished operation? wtf!!!). No new developer maps. No gamemodes. No vehicles... What the heck is going on 343. I just want 5 well made seasons to finish the cycle of this game. No empty updates, no lore audiobooks. exactly the same that season 5 delivered...

Can we please have an ODST game where we kill innies and the banished act as minibosses because we're regular humans going against brutes and elites? How about Microsoft do one of the games 343 kept trying to pitch. There's no reason to not do it now seeing the success of Helldivers 2. Unless MS are somehow holding back on more halo games enitrely due to the decisions of woke staff and DEI hires for diversity reasons

As much as i don’t like Banished and human stuff blending or Prometheans using human tech in Halo 5 she’s definitely someone that makes sense to have joined the Banished

Great, another book. While I do enjoy reading Halo books, 343i seems to have shifted the progression of the overall story of the francize to mediums other than the games. If that's not an indicator of how bad things are, I don't know what it is. Get 343i off Halo, Microsoft, they've proven time and again they can't properly handle the IP.

They already slaughtered her in Infinite and threw her in the trash. I swear someone at Microsoft has some serious shit against Cortana. Even after her shity death they can’t stop pouring salt on the wound. You wanna keep being her up? How bout you bring her back and ACTUALLY make things right??
